Chapter 80 - Fixing for a start

Matthew: I really hope there isn't, you deserve so much better.

Melissa nodded, "I know, it's gonna be hard but I'm moving on".

Matthew: Hope you get over it soon.

When her phone rang she came back to reality, she picked up the phone with a gentle smile, "Hey, wanna come over?"

Cindy and Alex both walked in separately and went on their own ways. Train of thoughts running in his mind as he angrily opened the door. He was shocked seeing Isabella there sitting on the chair.

Alex: What brings you here, Miss Lawrence.

Isabella looked up with a bright smile when she heard his voice, "I've been waiting for you for a while now".

Alex: Why? I mean, did you need me for something?

Isabella: Not really, just here to check up on you. I heard what happened, I brought Chrysa—

Alex: Who told you?

Alex inturrepted before she could complete her sentence.

Isabella smirked, "A close friend of mine".

Alex: I see.

Isabella: I was wondering, would you like to have some coffee?

Alex: I'll have to reject your offer Miss Lawrence.

Isabella: You can call me Isabella and it's alright we can have—

Alex: No, I mean I am really rejecting your offer.

Isabella: Oh, I see. Can I ask why?

Alex: I'm married and I love my wife.

Isabella: Weren't you...

Alex: ??

Alex: I was what?

His voice had a cold undertone, which Isabella couldn't penetrate with her warmth.

Isabella: I'll keep that in mind.

Alex: Thank you.

He sat on his chair completely ignoring her.

Isabella: I'll take your leave then.

Without looking up, Alex replied, "Alright".

She walked out of the room with the flowers in one hand and closed the door behind her.

"Bella?"

She looked up in surprise, 'No one calls me Bella other than her'.

She hastily turned, her eyes widened from shock, "Cindy".

Cindy: What are you doing here?

Isabella got flustered, she didn't know what to say, "I...I..."

Cindy: Are you still trying to date Alex?

Cindy asked directly without beating around the bushes.

Isabella: You aren't with him anymore though...why do you care?

Cindy looked down, "Yeah, we aren't".

Isabella: He is already married, you should get over him as well.

Cindy: He is what? When did he tell you that?

Isabella: Just now.

Cindy: I see.

Isabella: I'll leave first.

Cindy stood there on the hallway as she wondered what will be the best thing to do. She zoned out while staring at the files in her hand that she brought with her to give it to Alex.

After a while, Alex opened the door making her jump up.

Alex looked at the files in her hand, "What are you doing here?"

Cindy took some time, "I...oh yes, I came to submit".

Alex smirked, "So, you don't wanna fight anymore?"

Cindy: What? No. I meant I came to submit the works.

Alex: Ya, ok. Keep it on the table.

Cindy: Where are you going?

Alex: To grab a bite. Wanna join?

Cindy: No.

"Okay", Alex was going to leave when Cindy stopped him again, "Why did you tell Isabella that you're married?"

Alex: Why would I lie?

Cindy: We can't fix this.

Alex: I want to and I know we can.

Alex continued, "This thing rarely happens and I'm gonna use this second chance to mend things. I'm not asking you to live with me but at least give me another chance to make it up to you?"
