Chapter 73 - That's none of your business

Melissa instantly dialed Cindy, "Hey, I need to go back to the hotel for awhile. What should I do with the kids?"

Cindy: I'm coming, wait for me.

After hanging up the phone, Cindy picked up the parcel in one hand and juice bottle in other.

Suddenly the bottle fell from her hand crashing on the floor catching everyone's attention. She stared at the shattered bottle on the ground in daze till her vision's started to go blurry. She crouched down on the floor and grabbed her head tightly, "No... no... not now".

After ten minutes, Cindy came back to Alex with food, "Eat while it's hot". She was about to leave when Alex grabbed her hand, "What happened? Are you okay?"

Cindy looked at Alex indifferently, "That's none of your business".

She released her hand from his grip and walked out of the room leaving Alex confused.

Alex murmured, "Weren't we just fine?"

Cindy held on to the door knob, her head still spinning. Alex noticed something was off about her, he pulled out the IV needle from his hand and walked to her, "Are you alright?"

Cindy: Alex I'm—

Before she could say anything, she lost her consciousness. Alex grabbed her tightly before she could fall down and screamed, "Nurse! Is anybody here!?" He tapped her face several times to wake her up but he failed. He called out again and again. After a while, the nurse who was passing by came quickly, seeing them like that she quickly paged a doctor and tried to wake Cindy up. She slowly opened her eyes, unable to look properly for the brightness of light. Alex's worried face appeared in front of her, in daze, she touched it with her soft hands.

She slowly whispered, "I missed you..."

Alex's eyes widened from surprise, "Cindy?"

Her eyes widened from realization and she sat up quickly, "I...I didn't say anything". They put her in bed and a doctor checked her health.

"She collapsed from low blood pressure and exhaustion. Rest and nutritious foods will fix it."

Alex nodded, "Okay, doctor".

The doctor noticed the needle lying on the floor dripping IV fluid, "Why did you pull it out? If you don't take the perfect amount of medicine, it will be bad for your health".

Alex: Sorry doctor, I'll keep that in mind.

Alex paused for a while, " Can you shift me in a double-bed room? So that I can keep an eye on her as well."

Cindy turned to Alex angrily, "I don't need it, I can take care of myself."

Alex didn't pay any attention to her and looked at the doctor intently hoping for a satisfactory answer.

Doctor: Yes, we can.

Alex smiled, "Thank you very much".

After the doctor and nurse left, Cindy burst out in anger, "Why did you ignore me in front of the doctor!? I told you I don't need your help!"

Alex: Cindy...I don't know why you're acting like this again but this is not the time to take any decision in anger. My mom told me to protect you at any cost, and I'm doing it for her. I don't care what you think when it comes to your health. You wanna stay mad? Do it. I do not care.

Alex spoke word to word leaving Cindy speechless.
