On the second day, Edward had a meeting with everyone and arranged for future events.
"Hey Roc, when I was making the bow and the arrows, you were always around me looking at how I made them right? Then I don't have to teach you how to make them huh?"
"Light bro I was curious at that time so would always look at what you were making. Rest assured I know how to make them. If I need help, I'll simply ask you." Roc patted his chest and promised.
"Well then, we need to make seven bows within two days. You will take a few women to make arrow feathers to help speed up your work. Divide the work into parts and distribute it amongst the tribe members."
Edward then turned towards Daisy who seemed to be busy whispering something with Night.
Edward silently observed the short brown haired tanned girl before finally getting her attention.
"Daisy you go send 4-5 women later to collect berries and nuts. We'll also hunter later for meat. Oh and also tell them to not catch frogs and locusts or the kind anymore. Got it?"
Edward had remembered the scene when Night had at their first meeting offered him these things. It felt weird to Edward that a beauty like Night who according to modern standards would be classified as a cold beauty with long black hair had offered him frogs and locusts to eat. It was like a broken image.
He could still feel the tingling in his scalp.
"But...." Daisy seemed to be hesitating about something.
Edward realized that some people may be used to these things and he had just forbidden them so they may not get used to it for a while.
"Well, I don't care about others, just tell them to avoid these things but you yourself should never eat them. Your status is better than theirs. You are now a step above them all."
Edward felt the need for a hierarchy, a chain of command along with the proper respect and dignity.
After that, he turned his eyes towards Night who was now covered in dear skins. Before the extremely fur that barely covered any important parts of her felt more erotic then it should have been but now her handful sized breasts were hidden behind deer fur along with a deer skirt around her waist.
There were not enough fur around so most of the women and every man was naked from the waist up but Edward wanted people close to him in fur to show their status.
And it especially felt more erotic when someone was skimpily covered instead of totally nude.
"Night, this task is very important, I will give it to you,"
Night nodded quickly.
"Night I want you to ask your uncle (previous head of tribe) and other elders of the tribe about our surrounding area. They have definitely been too many places so ask them where is salt, where are the mountains and the black, green, or red stones?"
Edward had a thousand things to do but he understood he had to place the most important things at the forefront.
If a worker wants to do something then first he must have the proper tools.
If a worker wants to work better then he must sharpen those tools.
Right now he needed tools. Without tools, everything was nothing but talk!
The progress of mankind was in the progress of ideas and the progress of tools.
Currently, the deer ribs available could make seven pairs of bows and along with arrows, plus the original one. That would makes eight shooters' hunting team which was not too small compared to the tribe of just more than 30 people.
With advanced weapons, their food source could be fully guaranteed and they could be more capable of protecting the safety of the tribe.
'But to hunt a saber-toothed tiger, this stone arrow is definitely not good, at most it is to tickle the giant beasts. At least it must be a bronze arrow, of course, it is best to be a group of iron arrows. But where does one find this metal-bearing ore?'
As Edward was lost in his inner monologue, Night had come back from meeting with the tribe elders.
At the moment, Edward was standing next to the rubbish and leftovers left from last night's celebration. The pile contained a lot of wasted bones of deer. A tribe woman who was said to be most skilled in the tribe for grinding bones was called over. She was tasked to choose the right material and make bone needles.
"I want you to grind a few bone needles. It would be used to make clothes for everyone. I want everyone here to have better clothes in the future."
Finished with his talks with the bone grinding expert, Edward turned toward Night.
"Night what information did you got?"
"Light, they don't know, especially about the colored stones that you asked for. All I found out was that our tribe is surrounded by a forest to the north, a mountain to the west, and other tribes to other directions. The old patriarchs have not been to any other place."
How could this be? Edward was somewhat disappointed.
Seeing the expression on Light face, Night whispered,
"Light..... I've heard that there is a big lake far away toward the southwest direction. I heard that the water there is salty …. I don't really understand what salt exactly is but the water tastes different and is hard to drink. Maybe the water is salty?"
Oh? There was a look of surprise on his face.
"There is a chance for salt in a saltwater lake near the mountains. You silly girl, you have to ask them again, how far is it? How many days?"
Night hurriedly ran back and after a while, Night returned with a smile on her face.
"Light, I haven't been to the lake personally but from what I'm told it would take 6 days."
6 days back and forth.... Edward calculated that according to his own hiking experience, the distance of the saltwater lake should be 100 kilometers away.
If members carried fresh water on their backs, this distance was not impossible at all.
"We have to make better pots and plan for the saltwater lake to collect salt!"
