Hearing Roc's last declaration sent everyone around the campfire in a frenzy of joy. Worrying about food was their greatest concern and not only was it solved but they could eat fresh meat every day now looking at how good the hunter squad had performed. Waiting for the cheers to die down, Roc continued:
"Leader Light, everyone is happy to be able to follow you." Roc took a piece of barbecue in his hand and bit on it as he answered seriously.
"Light…..Light bro, what Roc said was all true. The day before yesterday….. a group…. Firewood gathering group….was attacked by big…... big boar and I alone…..chased it away." Debro interjected happily.
Even if Debro was shy or couldn't speak without stuttering didn't mean that his abilities were any less than others. Even Edward felt that if Roc was good as a hunter, Debro was good as a protector to the noncombatants.
"Ha ha ha, my brother is very powerful now! I bet you could scare people away with just a single look!" Edward smiled and patted Debro's shoulders.
Night laughed when she heard Light talking about her younger brother. She tore off a roasted chicken leg and stuffed it inside Edward's mouth.
Edward bit the meat that was stuffed in to his mouth. After gulping down the meat, Edward gave a sly look towards Night.
"Light bro, this roast pheasant is so delicious and yet you don't eat enough. Only a little meat every time. What happened?" Daisy interjected with worry in her voice
"My sister is right, I also found this odd. Light what is wrong with you? " Night asked.
"You two sisters don't know but back in my tribe, our barbecue had different herbs and salt in it too to have a savory taste. This may be delicious for you guys but just imagine that this can be made even more delicious! It is really hard for me to swallow." Edward replied.
Everyone was imagining the wonderful experience that Edward was describing to them with closed eyes. Eventually, they simply couldn't imagine something more delicious than what they were eating but they still had a look of yearning when they opened their eyes.
"I have been making water bags and burning pots for the past few days in preparation for this. Right, Roc, I heard you say you hunted a few foxes?"
Roc nodded.
Edward suddenly remembered his promise to Night.
Underwear!
'It's perfect to use fox skin!'
"If you want, I will immediately bring the fox skins to you." With that Roc got up and left.
"How have you been Daisy? Are you feeling better after you recovered? Have you been keeping yourself busy?"
With a bright look in her eyes, Daisy replied:
"Brother Light, look at this cluster of arrows I made. They are so many."
Daisy brought a large bundle of arrows from her side. There were at least a few hundred arrows.
"You've done a great job!"
Being praised by Light, Daisy became extremely happy. She felt like she was high in the clouds. With a flirtatious look she muttered:
"This is what Night sister taught me. I worked really hard too."
Edward felt happy that Daisy was being so aggressive to help him. Suddenly, Edward thought of something and grabbed her little hands, and saw that they were full of blisters. The sight of blisters in her hands ached his hearts.
"Daisy take better care of yourself. Don't go and make arrows again tomorrow. Just teach others how to make them and let them do it. Got it?"
Daisy sensed the worry in Edwards's voice.
"Yeah!" Daisy nodded cleverly.
While they were talking, Roc brought back the fox skins.
Edward took a look and frowned.
'The skin of the leather is so hard; How can woman's most delicate skin bear this?'
This leather has to be processed!
Vaguely remember that cooked skin has to use nitrate, or salt, or alkali? Edward himself wasn't too sure about it and could only roughly experiment on it.
Edward felt the number of problems he was facing to increase even more. If he needed nitrate, from where could he even find it?
Edward had no clue. He knew that he must think outside the box.
He fell into meditation. At this moment, Debro who was hungrily eating meat suddenly got up.
Startled, Edward asked: "What happened?"
"I have to….. have to pee."
Suddenly, Edward's eyes widened had he slapped his thigh.
"THAT'S IT, WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT BEFORE!"
