A bitter sweet
...
"Seriously a tacky romcom" Amelia hadn't stopped talking and we were thirty minutes into the movie. I tried not to laugh because she commented on every little thing that happened. "So what now her books are going to fall"
A smile crept up on my lips. Blake looked down at me. "Why are you smiling so much"
I was looked him ignoring Amelia's remarks. "Great movie that's all"
"I am a glad you like it, it was Catherine's favorite" there was that sparkle again.
"Tell to him stop thinking about her or you'll kick him where the sun doesn't shine. It's not her his with" Amelia said cursing a few under her breath.
"I like it too" I smiled. I wasn't going to say what she said.
"No no no Ava, don't do that put him in his place" Amelia started protesting.
"Ma'am I am going to have to ask you to leave please. We are getting complaints" a woman said behind us. I turned my head and saw a security guard talking to Amelia.
Amelia lowered the cap, trying to hide her face. "I can't leave"
"You'll have to or we will be forced to remove you"
"Try me" Amelia challenged.
Then the lady left and returned shortly with two giant men.
"Oh come on, I am just trying to help out a friend" Amelia cried as I tried pulling her out of the seat.
"You'll have to leave" the lady said also trying to get her out.
"I said no" she kicked one of the guards and jumped out the seat, running over the other seat. The three started chasing her until she ran out of the exit.
I got up to leave and she what was going to happen to her, but Blake held my wrist. "Where are you going?"
He doesn't know that that was Amelia.
"Restroom" I blurted out and ran after Amelia.
Once I was out of the theater and stood in the corridor looking up and down for her, but I couldn't see her.
"Psst. Ava" I heard a whisper. "Goddammit Avery"
I saw Amelia hiding behind a wall. I walked up to her.
"Are they gone" she whispered.
I looked around before nodding my head. It was clear. She moved from the corner she was hiding in and took the cap fixing her hair.
"That was close" she breathed out. "Anyways what are you doing here with me, you have Blake inside waiting for you"
I rolled my eyes. "Let's go home"
"What about Blake?" she folded her arms
"It's fine. It wasn't a date. I'll just tell him I wasn't feeling well so I went home" i shrugged, simple.
It wasn't a date, we were just here as friends nothing more and nothing less. Why should I stay away if I wasn't enjoying myself.
"So you'd lie to me" I heard a voice behind me.
I turned on my heels to face him.
"Blake?" i grinned.
"I think that's my que to leave" Amelia tapped my shoulder and waved goodbye. I turned back to face Blake.
"If you didn't want to go with me, you should of just said so" he stuffed his hands in his pocket.
"No I did want to go with you, it's just" I breathed and cut myself off.
"It's just what" he pressed.
"I told you I liked you and then you asked me to go to this movie with you but as just friends. Despite knowing how I fell about you. And you keep blabbering and your ex like it's some type of conversation starter. I don't I just don't want to be here with a guy that doesn't want me" I said in one breath avoiding his eye contact.
"I am sorry if I made you feel that way" he took my hands on his and looked me in my eye.
He needs to stop doing that, and making me fall.
"Just stop this, making me feel all these emotions for you when everything is one sided" I pulled my hands back and walked away.
"Well don't you want to know how I feel about you" he called out after me
I stopped in my tracks and a chill ran down my spine. I turned to face him and he walked up closing the space between me.
"I always liked you to Avery" he said lowly. "Because you weren't like other girls. You don't throw yourself at me"
I was flabbergasted. I stood there in a state of shook.
My crush liking me back? What's the catch
"And the reason why I didn't ask you out earlier because I thought you didn't like me. But yesterday in your room when you confessed, I was filled with mixed emotions and I didn't know what to say." I stared into his eyes as he spoke every word. "But I also don't want to hurt you"
"We can try to make it work" I cupped his hands, giving him a promising smile.
He pulled me in for a hug as his arms wrapped around my waist. "Wanna go home. I never liked this movie anyway"
"Sure" I whispered pulling away.
We walked away out of the theater . It was pretty cold out, it gave me goosebumps.
I threw my jacket on that I grabbed from home. We walked to where the car was parked.
Blake opened my door as I attempted in getting in. Once I was in, Blake got in on the other side.
He put the keys into the ignition and the car started rolling. He shifted a gears before we were on the route home.
The car ride home was silent. I didn't know what to say I was still grasping everything.
Blake liking me. It just sounded to perfect. It just sounded to good to be true.
We pulled up in the driveway. I opened the door but was stopped.
"Tomorrow I am taking you out again. It's a surprise just dress nice ok" he smiled before letting me go.
I jumped out and I felt him watch me. I opened the door and stood in the doorway waving him behind, once the car was out of view I closed the door behind me and melted to the ground.
Everything is just so unrealistic.
