Show me the way
...
I walked into Justin room. He was bouncing his basketball off the walls, it's something his always down when he is tensed.
"Hey Justin" I walked in. He didn't respond. I sat on and available seat and decided to speak. "You don't have to answer me, you can just listen"
"I am sorry if you felt neglected and pushed away. I didn't mean to hurt you. I never dreamt of hurting you and I am sorry you felt that way..." I swallowed in my tears. My voice sounding shaken. He'd steal a few glances but looked like he didn't care. I started fiddling with my fingernails."Ummm... If it makes you better I won't go with Blake tonight, or ever. I'll stop whatever we got going on between us"
I stood up to leave and found Blake leaving my room.
"So what did he say" he stopped me as we stood in front of my door
"Nothing" I looked down at my feet. "Blake I told him we weren't going to continue with whatever we got going on"
"So is this goodbye" he lifted my chin so I was looking at him
"I guess" I summoned up a smile, even if it was a fake one.
He pulled me closer wrapping his arms around my waist. And I wrapped my arms around his neck, closing the space between us, taking him his muscular scent.
"This is all my fault" my whispered in my ear.
I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. Everything happened so fast and is so overwhelming for me.
"No it's not, it's mine" we both pulled away and looked at Justin who stood leaning against his doorframe, with his basketball in his hand.
"No, you don't have to blame yourself. I should of known my place -" I tried speaking but he cut me off.
"No. If Blake is really telling the truth then I want to see how this plays out. Even if his lying. I just want to see you happy" he bounced the ball on the floor towards me. And I caught it in my hands.
"So can I go" I grinned like a little girl.
"Why not" he shrugged.
"Thank you Justin" I ran to him to give him a hug. Even though I wasn't facing them I could feel Justin giving Blake a glare - letting him know that his not just his best friend now.
I pulled away from Justin and ran back to Blake. I was very excited about this and everything. The beginning and the ending.
"You can go. Come pick me up at 8. I have two hours left" I started pushing him away towards the stairs.
He didn't fight with me because he also needed to get ready. I ran over to the bathroom taking a quick shower and killed time by looking for an outfit.
I stood in my towel, pulling out hanger looking for an evening outfit, but nothing.
"Mom" I cried out, hoping she could help me.
She ran through the door, still in her apron. "What's the emergency"
"I don't got an outfit" I put my hand on my forehead.
She went into the closet going through the twenty thousand clothes I owned. I sat on the bean bag chair painting my nails.
"Got something" she walked out with a black dress on a hanger. I looked at it weirdly, it looked boring on the hanger.
I blew my nails so they dried faster.
"You get ready, I will wait downstairs" she left the room with a smile.
I fitted the dress on and it was perfect. It was a low cut black dress with long sleeves and thigh high, hugging all my curves. It just felt write in all the right places.
I slipped on my block heels and combed my afro trying to get the curls. I found necklace and put it on adding finishing touches.
"Avery you done yet, Blake is here" I heard my mom shouting.
"Yes, will be down in a second" I grabbed a black coat with a fur hem and my clutch.
I skipped a few steps going down, trying not to fall.
"How do I look" I stood on the last step. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at me, mouths agaped.
"I like you better in sweat pants. You are just attracting to much attention" Justin said with a weird expression.
"Don't be rude, your sister looks lovely" she nudged Justin than walked over to me cupping my face and slipping to stand next to me. "What do you think Blake"
"She looks breath taking" he just stared at me, not saying a word.
"Awww you made him blush" my mom cooed. "OK, it's getting late you two leave and be back at 10 sharp.
" Thank you Mrs Rye" Blake took my hand in his and we walked out the door to his black jeep.
Blake looked so handsome. He wore a suit, with an Italian flare.
He helped me into the car before going in the other side. He switched on the radio after turning the car one.
"So where are we headed" I buckled in.
"It's a surprise" he grinned staring at the road
I remained silent and just stared outside trying to make out where we are headed. But I have never been on this side of town
OK, I never really went out. But mom and dad never took is out this side. It was where you'd find all the expensive restaurants, hotels you name it.
He stopped the car in front of a restaurant. Paris but in a French accent.
"Are we at the right place" I looked around.
"Yes" he chuckled.
A guy that stood outside the restaurants came around and opened my door, helping me out. I thank him once I was on my two feet.
I walked up to Blake well you handed the keys to the man. Blake took my hand in his leading us into the restaurant, on a red carpet. All we missing is the paparazzi
The door man opened the glass doors.
"My lady" Blake stood aside so I could walk in. I smiled at him before following behind walking in.
We walked up to the front and I guy in a tuxedo stood by a podium.
"Mr Castle, you made reservations?" the man looked up at me and back at Blake.
"Yes, 8 o' clock" he smiled and watched the man in front of us look at a list before he found the reservation.
"Aahh there you are. Your table is ready" he smile grabbing the menu and walking us into the restaurant. "Looks like you got a new lady friend"
"Yes, moving on to bigger and better things" Blake said it in such a tone, I couldn't explain it. Almost egotistical but not really.
"What happened to the blonde?" he pushed open double doors as we entered a new seating area.
"We broke up, but like I said tonight is all about her" he squeezed my hand.
"Here's you table" we stopped at a booth, isolated I thought. There were barely people here. And the people that were here were all older sipping on champagne and laughing.
Blake pulled out my chair, while the man handed me a meun. "Hope you enjoy your evening here, Ms?"
"Ryecroft, Avery Ryecroft" I crossed my legs over smiling at him before he moved over to Blake. They exchanged a few words before he walked away.
Once no one was around I looked at Blake.
"You took me to an expensive restaurant! I feel under dressed" I whispered yelled.
"You look perfect" he chuckled opening the menu.
"How does that man know you" I opened my meun and scanned everything.
"My parents own the restaurant" he said it like it was nothing.
