"Yes we did start the war, but do you know why?" Looking toward her in a confused state he just began appearing more confused. "We started the war Asmo because back then we believed the non humans wouldn't band together, we saw how they would often fight with one another over anything. At the time Humanity lived under a single empire, while the non humans lived in tribes or in some cases they lived alone. We saw how they would often wage genocidal wars on those they saw as inferior, while some others would help the weak and protect nature." "Does that mean we are the bad guys?" "Yes back then we would certanly fit the title of evil, we entered foreign land to genocide native peoples. Only because they weren't human like us would the empire do that, however the empire is long gone and so are the people who once lived in it. The war didn't end with the empire but continues to this day, however it is not a war of land or money but genocide."
"The humans only live for short periods with some of the longest only reaching one hundred. While the non-humans according to explorers before the war were said to live for hundreds of years and according to some legends thousands of years. To them perhaps we are the same people of that empire, greedy, bloodthirsty and spiteful humans." Hearing her Asmo looked like he was about to cry, seeing him about to cry she quickly added something to her statement. "While back then we were bad, today we are good. We learned from our mistakes and try to do things through peace. The current peace treaty is one of the many great examples of how we changed, the evil empire ceased to exist around two hundred years ago. With the empire gone humanity stopped waging a genocidal war on the non humans and began pursuing peace."
"We aren't evil anymore?" "No we are no longer evil Asmo, humanity learned its lesson these past three hundred years of war." Noticing that Asmo wasn't responding anymore, Izzy looked at the sleepy Asmo and saw him struggling to stay awake. "Nap time I guess, well it is a lot to take in." However Izzy left a large portion of what really happened out, she didn't feel like he could handle the full truth of the past.
