As Jake and Amara entered the training hall for another session, they passed a group of girls who bumped into Amara. The girls laughed as they continued walking, seemingly unfazed by the incident. Jake exclaimed, "Do you have any manners?" Back, surprised that Jake had spoken up, one of them remarked, "Guess she isn't as useless as we thought; she managed to summon a decent servant." Jake retorted, "I am not her servant." "The girl shot back, what a loud servant. I guess she is useless since she can't even control her servant. Jake declared that these girls had no manners. The girls replied, "Sorry, am I supposed to care about what a 'servant' thinks?" It's not like you have any power or status. "You should know your place, loudmouth," one of the girls sneered, her tone dripping with condescension. Walking away to class gave Jake a newfound determination he trained so hard to the point of passing out Amara came quickly to Jake's side saying Jake you do not have to work so hard he replied I need to get stronger. "...don want to be weak again. I got a new identity and new life." We see Jake in his previous life getting bullied and told to bark like a dog. He thought, "I am too weak to do anything, all I can do is bow my head down." We return to the present by Amara snapping her fingers, saying, "What are you thinking about?" He replies, "Nothing, don't worry about it." As Amara felt that something was going on, she brought up that we had to go to class tomorrow. The next day, as they head to class, Jake says, "Wait, let me show you something." As he turns into a cat, Amara grabs him and hugs him tight to the point where he can barely breathe. He says, "Let go!" As she apologizes and says, "I won him. As they made it to class, the teacher Ms. Debra said, "Last time we had you summon familiars, since I wanted it to be a surprise, let's start with Maga," one of the girls that bullied Amara, as she showed off her salamander considered a high-tier familiar, then Rexen with a common pixie, and Liyen with an angelic elk considered high-tier as well. Lastly, Amara showed off Jack still in cat form. Maga said, "Did you pick that cat off the streets? What a failure you are!" everyone laughed at her. Ms. Debra said, "Settle down," not even trying to defend Amara against the bullying. They started a new unit on magic spells as the lesson went on Maga stared intensely at Amara, planning something. Once class was over, she tripped Amara right in front of the teacher, Maga saying, "What a clumsy girl you are," while Ms. Debra noticed the bullying but did nothing about it, as Amara got up with a smile, trying to hide her tears. She ran through the hall to her dorm crying until she fell asleep. Jake, feeling bad but not knowing what to do, covered her with a blanket, promising Amara that he would always be next to her side as he got into his cat form and slept next to Amara.
