Xavier opened his eyes, the following morning, and the first day of school. Xavier looked over at his phone, picking it up he checked the time, "nice, six thirty." He yawned as he sat up, swinging his navy blue sheets across his body. As Xavier stood up he stretched out, feeling the cold hardwood floor under him.
Xavier walked to the new dresser to scavenge for a nice outfit, he pulled out some jeans and a band t-shirt, he always felt best wearing dark and flowy clothes. Xavier pulled off his shirt while he looked in the mirror. Xavier watched himself, "do I always look like this?" he asked himself unsure. Xavier put on his shirt, followed by his jeans. He decided he was going to wear his beanie and as he put it on, from the corner of his eye he thought he saw someone. Xaviers attention bolted to the window, and there was the girl, again. She stood in the window, holding her arms. Xavier walked to the window and watched the girl, confused. Xavier was intrigued, why does she stand there? and why does she not come out? Xavier decided to wave. As soon as he did though, the girl jolted, like she was scared. Xavier watched as the girl quickly shut the blinds. He was weirded out so he just decided to go on about his day. Xavier picked up his school bag and headed for down stairs, the fresh smell of coffee made him feel warm. "hey bubs, I made breakfast." Xavier's mother turned as she muttered the words, bags under her eyes and tear stained cheeks. the smell of wine on her breath. "mom," Xavier paused as he sat down. "thank you, so much. but I think you should sleep, you look tired" Xavier suggested. But, his mother insisted she was fine. Xavier looked at the plate of food, he some before running alittle late. Xavier picked up his bag, and headed for his car. Xavier had grabbed the keys previously from the kitchen island before eating his eggs and bacon. As Xavier made his way out the door, the sound of sirens startled him, the swung quickly into the neighbor's house.
Xavier wanted to see what happened, he prayed that the girl was okay, but as the cops opened the door, there was the mother and father, in handcuffs. and the daughter, walking out. Weak, scared, and tired. Xavier turned around to see his mother standing there. "I called them," Xaviers mother spoke before walking down afew steps. "I said I'd take her in, yesterday I noticed something off about her. so I went to go introduce myself the husband Mike was drugged up, his wife was passed out on the Sofia and the daughter, skinny as ever came to the door bruises all over her body." Xavier's mother went on with her rant. "I'll be out today, getting things for her. and I'll ne picking her up tonight from the police station." she swiped the keys from Xaviers hand. "bus, now." she said sternly. Xavier groaned, he started to walk down to the bus stop.
