"What if it's healed?" Simon asked, frowning.
"You'll take me out to play!!" Stella replied with a mischievous smile.
Simon was really confused. "Play?" he asked.
Stella nodded her head enthusiastically, "Yeah. It's been ages since I played at a ground. You'll take me to a ground or a court."
Simon crossed his arms and counter offered, "I'll take you to a sports ground, but I won't let you play."
"Done!!!" Stella exclaimed as she thrust out her hand forward. She didn't care if she didn't get to play. It had been so long since she had acted like a kid that she was very happy with the prospect of being at a sports ground.
Simon sighed and got up. He still honestly believed that Stella's leg hadn't healed completely. That was the only reason he had agreed to take Stella to a sports ground.
"Okay come on. Let's get you downstairs. I've got an ex-ray machine there." Simon said.
Stella nodded and made a motion to climb out of bed, but was immediately stopped by Simon.
"What?" Stella asked.
"I can't let you walk." Simon replied in a stern tone.
Stella rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. She knew it would be pointless to argue and it would all come out in a few minutes anyway.
"I'm not letting you carry me like a baby!!" Stella snapped as Simon reached out his hands.
Simon put up his hands and Stella climbed on his back with ease.
As they were headed downstairs, Stella spoke, "Simon?"
Simon: "Hmm?"
Stella: "Is there something different about my body?"
Simon stopped for a second before he resumed walking. "What do you mean?" he asked.
Stella: "Well it's obvious something is seriously wrong with my body. How can I have vampire powers? How can blood actually heal me?"
Simon shrugged, "I don't know Stella. This is a first for me too."
Stella sighed and laid her head on Simon's shoulder. "I just wish none of this had ever happened." she murmured in a small voice.
Simon did not reply but once they were in his clinic and he was getting ready to ex-ray Stella's leg and arm, he asked, not looking at Stella, "Stella? Will you answer a question of mine?"
"Yeah sure." Stella replied, moving her leg, flexing it.
"Do you wish you had never met any of us?" Simon spoke. "Never met me?" he added in a murmur, but he was sure Stella would have caught that.
Stella looked up at Simon's back and smiled. "No. I've never once wished that." she said.
Simon turned around surprised and Stella continued, "You, Allen and June are the first friends I have ever made. After Derek anyway. And there's no way in hell I wish I had never met you.
When I said I wished none of this had ever happened, I meant that I had never come to know about vampires. But I would have wanted to meet all of you as a human. Maybe not knowing what you guys are.
To tell you the truth, you guys are the only good things that have come out of me falling among vampires."
Stella finished and hung her head, looking down at her leg.
