It was like a cake you really loved was placed in front of you. You really wanted to eat it but controlled yourself remembering you were on a diet.
Stella corked the bottle and kept it back on the shelf. Her eyes then wandered over to another part of the shelf. There were some more bottles of blood there.
Stella sniffed and frowned. The bottles contained some different blood. She took one and sniffed the liquid after uncorking the bottle. It was human blood!!! Stella's hands trembled and the bottle almost fell from her hands as she smelt the sickly smell she had smelt through Sharp's mind.
But she calmed down once she realised that she wasn't tempted to drink the human blood, not even one bit.
At first Stella thought her craziness had passed, but she still wanted to drink the animal blood.
Stella closed the bottle and placed it back on the shelf. The next instant, she was back on the bed looking out of the window.
Simon entered a few seconds later with some take-out bags, plates, bowls and spoons.
He unwrapped the food and Stella watched in excitement.
Once Stella had finished every last bit of food Simon had bought, she plopped down on the bed, looking very satisfied.
Despite the situation, Simon smiled.
His moods were hugely affected by Stella's moods. It was lucky that Stella was always happy and joking, because Simon could also be happy seeing that Stella was happy.
As Simon was savouring Stella's happiness, she sat up and said, "Hey Simon?"
"Yeah?" Simon snapped out and asked.
Stella pointed to her left leg and said, "Can you change these bandages?"
Simon tilted his head and checked Stella's leg. "Why? Is something wrong? Does is hurt more? Did you put too much pressure on the bone?" he muttered.
Stella shook her head and spoke, "That's it. It doesn't hurt anymore."
"What!?!?!?" Simon exclaimed.
Stella had numerous small wounds across her body and Simon hadn't given her any pain killers today. How could her wound not hurt anymore.
"I wonder why that is. That is why I'm asking you to check." Stella spoke, bringing Simon out of his daze.
Simon nodded and brought his medical kit.
He unwrapped Stella's leg and his jaw dropped. Her leg looked like she had been playing doctor by bandaging it. There was no wound. Not even traces of it. The redness and swelling that had resulted from Mazata squeezing Stella's leg were gone.
"See?"Stella spoke.
"What?!?!? How!?!?!? When!?!?!?! Why!!!????" Simon exclaimed.
"I think it's pretty obvious why? Did you check if that bloodsu. . .Mazata, injected any venom?" Stella asked.
Simon looked at Stella and nodded, "I did. I'm sure he didn't. But I still don't believe your leg has healed. What about your hand?"
Stella frowned for a second before she said, "My hand's still broken, but it hurts a little less now."
Simon: "....." Just what was this girl?
"Can I. . . .can I. . . ex-ray your leg?" Simon asked.
Stella shrugged, "I know my body best."
"I still don't believe it." Simon persisted.
"Want to bet?" Stella asked, her eyes sparkling.
Simon: "....." Did she never take anything seriously?
"Bet?" Simon asked with a frown.
"Yeah." Stella raised her eyebrows, "If my leg is still not healed, I'll stay in bed as many days as you want me to."
