Just as Simon's eyes fell on Stella, the latter also noticed him. It suddenly hit Stella what she was doing and she dropped the bottle of blood she had in her hands.
The glass shattered and more blood spilled on the floor. It looked like Stella had broken one more bottle before this one, a bottle of human blood. And by the looks of the amount of blood on the floor, Simon deduced that the bottle was full. His eyes also fell upon the cabinet behind Stella, and he was very surprised to see half of the bottles of animal blood empty.
He had just reinforced them a week before and hadn't used a single one yet.
But Simon had no time to ponder over anything as Stella suddenly began to breathe heavily. She started gasping, sweating, and crouched on the floor, mumbling something.
Simon looked towards his desk and the next instant, Den was in the room.
Simon looked at him worriedly, but he shook his head and said, "I'm fine now. I was just surprised."
Simon nodded and walked to his desk. "What's happening to her?" Panic suddenly filled Den's voice as he looked at the crouching Stella, gasping for breath.
"She's having an anxiety attack." Simon spoke as he began to fill a syringe, "Take her away from here."
Den nodded and carefully stepped around the blood and picked up Stella. He was grateful that he had eaten just a few days before, it already was difficult to control himself in the face of spilled human blood. Den shivered to think what would he have done if he was hungry enough as he carried away Stella like a child.
Simon came back to his bedroom in a minute and looked at Stella on the bed. She was still shivering and sweating. She had balled herself into a ball and was muttering something.
As Simon got closer to her, Stella shrieked, "No!!!! I'm a monster!! What have I done! WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!" And with surprising strength, she pushed away Simon.
Simon tried again, but with the same result.
He gave a look to Den who nodded and walked forward with the intension of holding Stella back, but surprisingly, Stella looked at Den like a child in distress and she didn't struggle as he wrapped his arms around her little body.
Den pulled up Stella's sleeve and nodded towards Simon, who carefully walked forward and gently pushed the needle into Stella's tricep. All the while, Den continued to stroke Stella's head and murmur soothing words to her.
After a few minutes, the medicine took effect and Stella's body gradually grew limp in Den's arms. He laid her on the bed and pulled the blanket over her before turning to Simon.
"What the hell just happened here???" Den snapped.
"I don't know. I've got no idea!!" Simon replied with a sigh and plopped down on a chair massaging his head.
"Well you better find out! Cause if that ba*tard Zukao injected venom in her, I'm gonna fu*king kill him!!!" Den sweared.
Simon shushed him and replied, "That isn't possible."
"Huh? What?"Den asked, turning around to look at him.
