Chapter 76 - Something to eat?

Stella looked down at herself and saw her right hand was in a cast. She had broken it all right. She also discovered that her whole body was aching and her left leg was heavily bandaged. She might not have broken the bone, but it must be a very bad wound.

After examining her own body and discovering she had no other major wounds, Stella focused her mind towards other things.

She was really hungry and hoped that Simon had thought to leave something out for her.

At that moment, Stella caught a whiff of something.

It was a weird smell, she hadn't really eaten anything like that before. Stella was surprised that she knew it was something to eat as she sniffed to get a proper whiff, and her head suddenly snapped in the direction of a door.

"Where are you going? You do know it's not safe for even you to go back to the forest yet." Simon said as he walked towards the main door of his house.

Den turned around with his hand on the handle and said, "I'm just going to check something. When will McCartney wake up?"

Simon frowned, "She should be waking up anytime soon." "Are you really going to go in the sunlight dressed like that?" he added as Den opened the door.

Den looked down at his clothes and realised Simon was right. He was wearing only a shirt and pants. He would definitely get a very bad sunburn if he went like this.

"Let's go up to my room. You can pick something from there. And I'll check up on Stella too." Simon said with a sigh, turning around and walking towards the stairs.

The two climbed the stairs together and Simon froze as he opened his bedroom door.

Den, who almost collided into him, stopped and asked, "What's wrong?"

Simon spoke in a shaky voice, "Stella. . . Stella is. . . .gone."

Den immediately pushed away Simon and rushed into the room. He almost laughed when he saw that Stella's shoes were still beside the bed.

"Don't scare me like that Simon. She probably woke up and went to the washroom or something. Look. Her shoes are still here." Den spoke, quickly analysing the situation and scanning the room.

Simon walked in, his expression becoming less worried. "It's weird we didn't hear her." he said.

"McCartney can be very quiet when she wants." Den spoke, a little distracted, "Say Simon? Where does that door lead to?" He asked, pointing to an open door on the east wall.

"My store of medicines." Simon spoke with a frown.

The next thing that happened, was in a flash.

Just as Simon completed his sentence, the two of them heard something shatter inside the room where Simon kept all the medicines.

Den had rushed in with the speed of lightning and the next instant covered his nose.

Simon came into the room the next instant and saw Den covering his nose. He immediately guessed what had shattered in the room and pushed Sharp out of the room.

He then stood wide eyed in the middle of the room.

At the end of the room, Simon saw Stella standing among the cabinets where the most effective vampire medicine was stored, blood.
