Chapter 25 - Sharing One Room?

I calmly walked back to seat and put on the seat. Mr Wilson glanced at me once before he started working on his laptop again as if he's some busy person. The truth is, he isn't cause most of the work is done by me -_-

No, seriously, I'm telling the truth. This guy is L-A-Z-Y.

Anyway, my stomach felt like it was digesting itself when we were landing. It was pretty stormy that day. Mr Wilson gripped the armrests like he'd die if he let go (although, that is a possibility) He tried to put on a brave front but I could see that he felt shook because of the turbulence. The staff apologised to us, though they looked pretty scared themselves. I did not blame them, of course, Mr Wilson needed to reach Country G because of a very important client so we had no choice, we could not postpone the meeting.

After getting out of the flight, I thought the worse was over, but no, God had more surprises planned for me. We reached the Rosa hotel and proceeded to check in. We had two big suitcases and one bag as our luggage, and Mr Wilson seemed very hesitant to carry his own stuff. I was dragging my own suitcase along with my bag. So what's his problem? Luckily enough, the driver helped me; I carried my stuff while he carried Mr Wilson's suitcase. The sky was still cloudy; it seemed like it would rain again, but since I'm here, safe on solid ground, its none of my concern.

I am aware that it's peak season for Country G, but what I saw was simply ridiculous. There were so many people in the lobby and the staff looked quite annoyed while dealing with these people. Yep, the good old service sector where people have to smile though they have every intention of throttling the person they're dealing with, hey! They're just like me!

When Chris and I entered, I got an annoyed glance from one of workers there, yeah, I got angry but it subsided quickly because I was used to it. Being with Chris had its perks. You get a good amount of money; you become very patient and you know perfectly how to deal with a toddler. I just ignored that look and went to talk to the receptionist while Mr Wilson sat on the sofa while he read the newspaper.

The receptionist is one of a kind. She had a creepy smile on her face which was intended to make someone feel welcome, but I was not feeling welcome at all. As I stepped closer to the help desk, I had a terrible feeling; I have got to say, my intuition has got better and better. I knew something bad was going to happen, and it did.

"Hi, I have a reservation for a regular and a presidential suite under the name of Wilson." I informed her. I was eagerly waiting for the keys, the sooner I get to leave Mr Wilson, the better.

"Just a minute" She smiled creepily and typed something on the computer. She then continued, "I'm sorry, but there is no regular room available, you may stay in the presidential suite."

See, the whole reason of booking a room separately is to be separate! What should I do with one presidential suite, huh? Should I sleep on the streets? I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to get any room in any hotel across the country at this time.

Just as I was about to say something, she interrupted me again, "This is the peak season for tourists and because of the weather many flights were cancelled so the guests prolonged their stay and since we have a first come first serve policy on the regular rooms, they were taken up pretty quickly so the only room available is the presidential suite." She smiled at me creepily again, as if saying take it or leave it. Obviously I was not gonna leave it, but I was gonna give her a piece of my mind.

"You do know that the whole point of reserving is because we know we can't make it in time!" I shouted, the woman still had that creepy smile on. Mr Wilson who happened to hear the entire argument decided to contribute his thoughts, though no one really asked for it. I can't seem to figure out when he sneakily appeared by my side.

He turned towards me and said, "Fret not, Ms Brown. You can share the suite with me, I am a very good person."

I have three things to point out in his sentence. Fret not- he said, ironically he is the reason every time I "fret". You can share the suite with me? Really? Do I have to say this out loud? And finally, I am a very good person- well, I'm just gonna pretend I didn't hear that.

The receptionist overheard what Mr Wilson said and added, "There is a sofa in the presidential suite."

Both of our eyes flashed after she said that. My option was sleeping in the same room or on the street, and I am not sleeping on the street. "I'll take the bed, you take the sofa!"

"Since I have the bed, you can take the sofa." We both said at the same time.

Cough cough, "I mean, I will take the sofa since the bed is yours." I said awkwardly.

"You did not have a choice to begin with, Ms Brown." After saying this he immediately took the keys and started walking away from me, he walked so fast that someone would think that I smell or something. Just as he entered the elevator, he pointed to the bags and said, "Make sure they arrive to the correct room." Everything happened so fast that I didn't even catch the room number.

I did not even bother hiding my irritation. "What's the room number?" I asked the creepy receptionist. I was very careful so that my tone is neutral and that there was not a hint of annoyance. Based on her smile, she seems ready to kill someone if they disagree with her. The bellboy came and helped me with the luggage. I knocked on the door and out came Mr Wilson, he changed his clothes and now he was wearing casuals again. It seemed like he bathed too. It took me around fifteen minutes to reach the room with the bags and he got changed already? How long are his legs exactly?

He handed over the keys and said, "Now you can change freely. We have a meeting tonight, until then you're free. Wear the black dress I bought you." So he was being considerate by changing and leaving early so that I can change comfortably? And also, he remembered what colour dresses he bought for me? I simply nodded in response.

The presidential suite certainly lives up to its name. It was HUGE, I gave a tip to the bellboy (my money not the company's money T-T) I got into this beautiful yellow sundress, one of the few brightly coloured clothes I packed before I ran away. And this dress has pockets too! And not the one just for show, it has space to actually store stuff. It's too perfect for its own good. I put the keys in my pocket (big mistake) and left the room to get some fresh air. Suddenly it became sunny, the storm clouds disappeared and there was warm sunshine - something rare in February.

Some guy came running to me, it took him a minute to catch his breath, so I took a look at him. He seemed to be the hotel staff, most likely an intern based on his age. After he could breathe again he said, "You're Luna Brown, right?" And before I could even answer he continued, "Someone by the name of Mr Wilson asked you to wait for him by the pool."

And before I could say anything in response, he ran away. What the hell? Anyway, no time to ponder on that, I had to go to the pool. A very nice opportunity to see hot people hehehe. Ahem. To navigate through this 'vast' hotel, I needed a map. There were so many different kinds of rooms that I did not even know a hotel has, like what is a 'smash room'? Is that something I am uninformed of or is this the only place that has it? Anyway, after a good thirty-minute search, I finally reached the pool, hehehe. ;)

I looked around to find Mr Wilson, but I found random attractive strangers instead. Mr Wilson is not here at all! Why did I even come here? I turned to leave when someone blocked my way.

"Hey!" he said. Well, that was one lousy introduction.

"Hello?" Who dis? What does he want? Why did he stop me?

"Why don't you ditch the guy you were waiting for and come with me instead? I promise you'll have a good time." He winked.

Yeah, no. "How did you know I was waiting for a guy?"

"I mean just look at you, you must have dressed up for a date and he stood you up right? If I'm wrong and you look like this without the effort, the guy who stood you up is the unluckiest person ever."

See, see that Mr Wilson, how dare you stand me up. "Cough cough. Please move, I need to look for someone." Yes, I was polite after he flattered me, don't judge okay. If a good-looking guy said you looked beautiful, you'd be polite too.

"Nah, don't go looking for him. Stay with me instead, I'll make the time spent with me worthwhile."

"Usually, I'm the type to take a chance but now it's not really a good time so…..buh-bye" Since he won't move, I'll go around him.

He grasped my wrist before I could take a step further, RED FLAG ALERT BEEP -BEEP. Uh-uh nope, no, no and no. "Let go. Don't you dare touch me ag- Ow!" Someone pulled me from the other side. Am I stuck between two perverts now? I was ready to punch everyone around me. I turned to see who it was, it was Mr Wilson! Thank god! A weirdo is better than a pervert. I cheered in my heart because he came at the right time.

"Since my fiance has arrived, I suggest you let go of my hand. I do not want any misunderstandings." I said threateningly.

The man immediately let me go. He gave a smirk before leaving. Yuck.

"Ms Brown, trouble sure likes to follow you. And, fiance?" Mr Wilson asked.

"You made me wait for so much time, it's because of you I met that weirdo, so letting me use your name is the least you could do." I smiled at him. It was not a friendly smile.

"The idea is not bad…" He smirked. "Continue to be like this until the meeting ends tonight." He said.
