I said nothing because I lost because my train of thought; I wondered if dumping the soup on him had the same effect if he drank the soup. Nah, it would be too mean.
"Wifey! I'm hungry!" He started complaining. He did not know I was crying on the inside. What did I do to deserve this?! I promise to never let him drink as long as I work for him. "Then drink this soup."
"No, I want pizza!" he started throwing another tantrum. He repeatedly started saying 'I want pizza' and that was the last straw.
"Shut up!!!" he looked at me with shock and fear as if I was a monster, he was taller than me, I hardly think I could scare him. "You will drink this soup and sleep like a good boy or else I will leave you here all alone. Do you want that? You want to be all alone?" I realised that I became my mother.
With his sad expression and that bump on his forehead he looked pathetic, it looked like I was bullying him. For your information, I did not bully him; I was disciplining him.
"I'll listen to Wifey. said in a soft voice and started drinking the soup. He made all sorts of expressions while drinking the soup. It made me remember the YouTube videos where people make babies eat lemons and record them. And then it hit me. What if I record him and blackmail him into being kind to me after he sobered up! I felt very intelligent. I~ AM~ PATHETIC~ DONT~ MIND~ ME~
I started debating whether to leave him on the sofa or to let him sleep on my bed, but then I can't sleep on my bed and he does not deserve it. In the end, I let him sleep on my bed.
"Wifey don't leave me alone. I'm scared."
His act did not affect me. Whether he is sober or drunk, I will NEVER sleep next to him. "Shut up and sleep."
He put on a 'wronged' expression and covered himself in a blanket while mumbling to himself. He was probably scolding me. I sat on the sofa and watched some TV, but I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was already around 2 p.m. I was starving. I realized that I was covered in a blanket. I specifically remembered otherwise. And then I realized. I got up and went into the bedroom. He was not there, the pillows were fluffed, the blanket was neatly kept. Basically, he made the bed. No one would believe that someone just slept there. Of course, Mr. Wilson was a neat person this was expected of him.
I wanted to call him to check up on him, but then I thought if it was my place to do so. After ten minutes of thinking, I ended up calling him. "Hello?" a husky voice spoke up.
"Mr Wilson? Are you okay now?"
He coughed before saying, "Sorry for the inconvenience, Ms Brown. I do not remember what happened, but if I misspoke when I was not in a proper condition, please do not take it to heart."
I cheered in my heart since he remembers nothing. But in reality, he actually remembered everything clearly, and he felt quite embarrassed.
"Wifey? Seriously, what's wrong with me?" Chris mumbled to himself while he was eating in THAT restaurant. But he felt good, weirdly enough. The way 'Luna' treated him made him feel warm inside. Remembering how he threw tantrums made him cringe and feel childish. He thought that he spoiled the strict, cold boss image in front of 'Luna'. While playing that incident in his mind, he came across the moment when I asked him to call me Lia and wondered why I said so. Luckily he did not read much into the matter.
"Who's that, daddy?" a woman in a beautiful blue dress asked while pointing at Chris. She acted very spoiled.
"Hm?" an old man in a very expensive suit saw towards the direction where his daughter pointed. He seemed to be a wealthy businessman. He gave a smirk after seeing Chris.
"Why darling? Are you interested in him?" he asked his daughter.
"He seems interesting. Also, he seems to be my type." She got up and made her way to Chris' table.
"Hello handsome," she smirked at Chris. She was Elena, the daughter of the Chairman of Dazzle, Thomas. Dazzle was the rival company of Oasis. Oasis had been established long before Dazzle was established, but it rose in ranks very fast and was considered the rival of Oasis. But Dazzle did not have the reputation nor the trust of the customers like Oasis had.
Chris squinted at the woman in front of him. He did not like women who played dumb. She was someone who boldly introduced herself, he thought, why not give it a try? His grandfather had been pushing him to start dating too.
Her dark red tresses framed her small face, and her bright red lipstick increased her charm. You see, I am very much more beautiful than her. And no, I'm not just saying that because she is from the rival company and unlike me, she can inherit the company, cough, cough. What I say is true, okay? Life is unfair sometimes.
"Well, who is this beautiful lady in front of me?" Chris asked with an eyebrow raised. Seeing that Chris did not refuse her in one look, Elena became more confident. Ya, even I do not know what was happening, I also thought Chris would reject her but apparently not. They actually spent the rest of the afternoon chatting.
If there was one thing to be thankful for, it would be my lack of exposure. When Elena came to Chris's office one day, she did not know who I was. Lack of exposure, I tell you.
The next day he could not even bear to face me, which raised my suspicion. I started guessing that he actually remembers.
"Hello, I have an appointment to meet Chris," Elena asked me. I was sorting some files at that moment and was completely confused because the files were in a mess. Compared to my haggard outfit, her beautiful lace-dress completely shadowed me, making me feel insecure. There might have been a chance that I cursed her once in my heart. The way I come to assumptions, sigh. I don't even know the lady properly, yet I already cursed her once.
"You may enter his office, he's waiting for you," I replied in the most respectful tone, trying to force that bit of respect. I was busy marking the files with a pencil while I eavesdropped on their conversation, at this point, I don't even surprise Mr Wilson, he already assumes I'm eavesdropping and I am. Though I prefer to call it 'collecting information'.
"Hi, Chris. Ready for our date? I'm not disturbing you am I? Regardless of which just dump your work on your secretary, you're paying her after all. You have to keep your promise." she said with a hint of whine.
*SNAP* the pencil in my hand snapped into two while I glared at his office, 'THIS LITTLE-' I was trembling with anger. Seeing my very obvious angry face, Adam chuckled.
"Oh my. What happen Luna?" he asked while trying to suppress his laughter. He happened to overhear their conversation along with me. "Chris Wilson and a monkey happened" I replied, I had a very unkind face on. "I'll be in my office if you need me," Adam said and left.
"Don't worry, I always keep my promises." he chuckled while wearing his coat.
He let Elena leave first and soon after which he followed when leaving he stopped at my desk. "Ms Brown-"
"Ah, Mr Wilson. I was just about to leave. I never did technically take a leave, the leaves I took were because of you so I intend to use them," I replied in a hurry.
After he heard me, he looked like he wanted to speak, but I stopped him, "Mr Wilson, Adam asked me to apply for a leave on his behalf as well." I was pretty sure he was about to ask why, but I left immediately. I intentionally let him assume things. He was just standing near my desk, bewildered, wondering what was happening. Adam's and my personality were similar. He was basically my brother from another mother. You know, besides Luke, who was actually my brother from another mother. He and I were on extremely good terms, we even went to play pool together. Though we knew each other for like a month, we became close. I barged into Adam's office. "You know I just said that to make you feel better, but I'm actually busy," Adam said after looking at me.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Ya ya. Get yo ass up. We're leaving." I got his coat and helped him with it.
"Where? I have work." He protested, but he did not resist me either.
"No, you don't. I applied for a leave on your behalf. We're going out." I replied. Chris Wilson stared at me while I helped Adam into his coat and pulled him away. Chris had a weird expression on his face.
I successfully pulled him outside, we got into his car and he started driving. My mind was pre-occupied with thoughts. We drove for almost fifteen minutes before he asked me, "Are you jealous that Chris is going out with another woman?"
"What?! Are you crazy? He is not even worthy of my jealousy." I replied. I was clearly feeling awkward. "Why did you ask such a question?"
"I have been driving for fifteen minutes aimlessly. You brought me out but did not even bother to tell me the location."
I did not have an answer to his question. I did not have a crush on Mr Wilson. It's Mr Wilson! Who would? I do NOT have a crush on him. I just escaped a marriage from his family. I do not think I would want a relationship that fast. My single life is crying- the truth.
"That is because of a different matter."
"Really? What is that now?" Adam sounded as if he was annoyed with me. I could pick up on his hints. He clearly wants to date me, but I rejected him because I did not want a relationship. Now it 'seems' to him that I like Chris, but I don't. I did not want to be one of those who lead on guys and breaks their heart. Now, the only thing to make him drop the suspicion is to make him believe something bigger than my fake crush on Chris. I know I can trust Adam, so why not tell him my secret? It would be a relief for me since having such a secret is hard.
" Well, what I'm about to tell you, you should not tell anyone." I said with hesitance.
Adam seemed to look very serious. His face says, 'you can trust me anytime!'
"Adam, I'm not actually who I am. I'm not Luna."
He gave me a weird look, almost as if I was lying. "You're not Luna? So who are you? An alien?"
"Shut up. I'm sure you have heard of Oasis."
"The leading jewellery company?"
"Yes, I am Amelia, the granddaughter of the chairman of Oasis. The girl who was supposed to marry Jason Wilson this year. The girl who fled from her marriage and ended up in a refugee situation in a different city. I got a fake identity and ended up getting a job in Revolution, only to find out it was where my so-called fiance's brother works."
