Chapter 6 - Rebirth part 2: Saved!

The two pairs of feet that approached Ming Yue belonged to Wang Li and a handsome young man. That night Wang Li was in Country G for two reasons: first was to aid the young man beside him for a secret military affair.

The second reason was one that no one was aware of. There were some leads about the missing heiress of the Qi family. The young miss of the Qi family was abducted by a medical assistant at the age of 3 and a half years old. Afterwards, that assistant raised her under the influence of some potions to keep her senses limited and then passed her to the traffickers around the age of 5.

The child trafficking group was a subsidiary to one of the powerful dark influencers of the business world. Although they were not as powerful as the Qi family but still could not be underestimated. The leader was cunning in an annoying way leaving lots of smart leads behind for people to track.

Hence it took the Qi family a long time to deduce the correct lead from all the random leads, but they lost her around the age of 10. Only two days ago they got some news that the young lady was living with the Gu family whom she was sold to and afterwards something happened for her to be immediately sent to Country G.

Wang Li had no idea where or who she was or even what she looked like. It was going to be a hard search without knowing anything about her current identity. The only thing he was tracking now was an assassin organisation also under the same influence as the traffickers.

There was a movement in their organisation at the same time as the young lady was sent to country G. He knew that it could be coincidental, but he was not willing to miss this lead.

Perhaps, Ming Yue was truly blessed, or it might have been heaven's wish for it to turn out this way. Who knew that in the middle of going to their base they would stumble upon Ming Yue that easily?

The young man hurriedly took off his oversized woollen coat, draped it over the unconscious lady and took her in his arms. The young man's handsome features turned sour. His black orbs scanned the young lady's arms, legs, and face.

She was abnormally weightless but that was not even the worst. She also had lots of cuts and bruises on her arms, and her forearms, limbs, and legs were badly bruised. What really made the two men worry even more was the black soot and ash covering her to the extent that even her skin colour could not be seen.

All in all, this girl looked like she went through hell and they could not even imagine what this frail-looking lady went through. The only thing that was on their mind at that moment was that she needed immediate medical attention.

Before leaving, Wang Li gazed over the surroundings. There was no presence of any living beings in the area. The quietness was eerie and the wind had a strong burnt smell. There was a scorched trail on the ground where the young lady had crawled, leaving the grass beneath her burnt.

Wang Li had some unclear deductions in his head and his face was grim with anger as his heart felt suffocated. He felt there was a weight on his lungs and his heart was in pain thinking if his deductions were true.

With a forced deep breath and clenched fists, he went into the driver's seat. Through the rearview mirror, he was able to see the poor girl taking soft strained breaths as she was held in the gentle embrace of the young man. With a head full of complicated thoughts he started the engine and drove off to the nearest and the most famous aristocratic hospital in the country.
