"I was devastated but didn't knew what hurt the most. Was it knowing the truth or knowing the truth about my family from outsiders in the worst way possible" she continued to say and I continued to hear. My heart was aching with every bit of happiness leaving her body and anger was fuming through my mind.
"I am.....I....I.....my mother....oh god" she stammered and hesitated and got almost an anxiety attack.
"Ahana, look at me....you can tell me, I will never do or say anything that will hurt you." I said her giving her the support and courage she needed.
"My mother was a....ummm....prostitute " she said suddenly stopping on her tracks and looked at the ground probably scared of my reaction.
But I am pretty sure my reaction was not expected by her. I came closer to her and cupped her face with my one hand and my other hand was around her waist keeping her from moving away from me, not like that she even tried to move away from me but still in case.
"I know its painfull to have that as a background and I know how much it hurts to hear it from others and I can only imagine how harshly those ruthless people threw the truth towards you when you were so young, and if you feel more depressed saying it...then dont but I just want you to know that I will always be a good friend and will never leave your side no matter what because I know your past or family background does not define the person you are." "So your profession was your biggest secret and the reason to hide your identity?" she asked to me as we started walking again. I figured she had enough of her past memories haunt her for the day so I did not forced her to speak about the every details, rather decide to let her on some information of my life as she deserved an explanation.
"Well yes, many of the students and .....umm...let's say a few teachers also visit here almost regularly and that could harm my reputation. So I wanted to hide my indentity"I said explaining her my answer to her question. Yes it was not the whole details of my life but I decided to let her know only as much as she asked for.
"Smart choice, Namchan" She said, playfully punching my hand and giving out a soft chuckle.
She seemed a little bit relieved now getting atleast a bit of her secrets out to a trusted heart. Oddly enough, I also felt very relieved letting her in into my little world.
We both knew there was more to our story but none of us wanted to disclose the details right now and nither of us forced each other. It was enough for both of us to open up this much and I knew we would probably be crystal clear to each other one day.
At last we reached her house and...
