(First Person)
I quickly put on my mask and beanie and went to greet my mom.
'Ugh, what's he done now,' my mom thought when she saw me.
Wait ... Thought? How did I know what she was thinking?
"Hey, mom. I have a bit of a cold, so I'm wearing a mask," I said to her.
'But nobody's in the house? Whatever, he's always been a bit of a germaphobe. But what's he done with his hair? His voice sounds different, but I guess he has a cold. But, he just looks different.' My mom thought.
"Okay, but what did you do with your hair?" My mom asked me.
"Oh, I dyed it. Sorry!" I lied to her.
'What! He dyed his hair! He's never wanted to dye it in the past! I guess he is in his teens, so things are changing. But this is a big change. I'll just ignore it for now,' She thought.
"Whatever. Just tell me why you did it later," She said to me.
Wow. She took it well. But now to the main problem. I could read people's minds. That's why my head hurt so much!
You might think of this to be a great power, and I did too. But, there were many downsides to this. Basically, the voices I heard in my head were my neighbor's thoughts. These voices were like people talking. The farther away they were to me, the quieter they got. And, it was exactly like somebody was talking to me. I could only tell the difference because I somehow knew that I was reading their thoughts. This meant that if I was not paying attention, I could think that somebody was talking when I was just reading their mind.
Another problem was the pain. My head was hurting a lot. Hopefully, that would go away.
My mom was in her room, so I decided to just watch some TV in the living room. I had been stressed the whole day about my condition, and I still was. I needed something to help me take my mind off my situation.
Only when I sat down on my couch, I realized that I did not have the remote. Ugh. I tried to reach for it, but it wasn't in my reach. Just then, I felt a power built up in me, and the remote was in my hand. Did I just use telekinesis?
I looked at my hands in shock. It just came naturally to me. How powerful had my mind become!
Obviously, this experience did not calm me down in the slightest. I was more self-conscious than ever.
The main problem was that I had to go to school the next day. I would have to hide the changes to my body and mind. How would I do that! If it came out that I was a changed, everybody would hate me.
The realization of my situation came to me. Not only did I gain weird powers, but I had changed into a beautiful girl. Why did this happen to me? I had a great life as a man, but everything had changed. I couldn't even tell anybody about it!
But, it was fine. I was a strong man. I could handle this. I would have a perfectly normal life. Other people had way worse happen to them. They got turned into monsters, demons. Compared to them, my issue was small.
I could get through this like a real man.
