Chapter 1 - The Raven

Antoinette's POV

'drip, drip, drop,'

Walking through the foggy wet streets of London. The sound of clicks of shoes clicking and carriages could be heard. The street lights illuminated the concrete sidewalks. The sound of raindrops hitting the ground each time. The grey clouds laid over the sky.

'drip, drip, drop,'

Each raindrop fall right after the other. Endless rain showering upon all of London. Sitting inside my carriage with my butler, Reginald across from me, I looked at the pitiful, gloomy scenery. Still inside the carriage, we stopped. I looked out the window on my other side and found myself at the Ludenberg Manor, also where my fiance Roland lived.

Together, we are in a forced engagement. Due to me being a rich noble myself and to continue on the legacy of the Lovegood family, it is my duty to marry a rich. And that happens to be my cousin, Roland.

My butler stepped put the carriage and helped me off of the steep steps. We made our way to the front door and knocked. The door opened and was greeted by Roland's butler.

"Good day Lady Antoinette, may I take your coat for you?" He said while guiding me into the manor.

"Yes thank you," I said while he took off my coat.

I looked up and was greeted once again by my cousin and fiancée, Roland. I looked up and curtsied. He stepped down the stairs and ever so gently took my hand. He brought it to his lips and greeted me properly.

"Welcome to my manor Antoinette," He said with a bow.

"Thank you Roland," I stood there with my posture up and kept a straight face.

"Reginald stay down here. We have some matters to discus," I looked at him then stepped up the velvet carpet stairs.

He lead me to his study and I took a seat in front of his desk. Sitting with straight posture and looking forward, I asked, "Roland why have you called me here?" I tapped my finger in a smooth rhythm on my leg. My hand got tighter around my walking stick and almost felt like I was in a out of fire. He chuckled and turned his chair around not facing me.

"Well I need money my dear Antoinette," He looked out the window behind him. You could see his reflection that he was smirking.

"Are you mad?!" I raised my voice showing that his request was not a pleasant surprise.

"What's wrong my dear cousin? What got you so upset?" He said acting like he didn't see anything wrong.

I growled. I started to feel a change in my body. the same feeling from...last night.

~Flashback~

"Antoinette," A whisper like voice called my name.

"..." I opened my eyes and saw myself to be front of a dead tree. The grass was dead, the sky was grey, fog reeled in making me only see the glimpse of the lifeless tree til I got close to it.

"Antoinette," There it was again.

"Who are you?" I took one step closer to the tree, still hesitant of my surroundings.

"I am that i am," A raven appeared on one of the tree branches of the tree. Its eye was black as night and pupil was painted blood red.

"I don't understand," I stood slightly frightened and confused by the birds appearance

"You are what you are,"

"What do you me-" I gasped suddenly feeling a change.

My left eye started to change color. My entire eye was black as night. My pupils were blood red.

"You are a monster and you'll always be one," The Raven said once again, his pupil flashed red.

~End of Dream ~

I sat up hyperventilating. I looked in the mirror and found my left eye...to be changed...

~End of Flashback~

From then on I wore a eye patch on my left eye. I always left my hair down with it covering the left side of my face. It could still be visible but it wouldn't stand out as much. I still had no idea what my eye meant nor what effects it had on me or what it does. Until now...

I felt my eyes start to swell. But the left side of my eye was crying out blood while my other eye cried regular clear as glass tears. A dark aura surrounded me. I lifted my arm and appeared the same raven with the same color eye on the same side. Wings came out of my back, ripping the back of my dress while doing it. I spread out my black feathered wings, making a few feathers fly out.

Roland was terrified. He grabbed a dueling sword from a shelf and cowardly held the sword, shaking. I picked up one of the feathers and took a look at it.

"I recite the words "I heard a rumor," and say how you want him to die then send it at him," The raven spoke.

"I heard a rumor," I recited the words the raven had told her, the midnight black feather glistened in a sparkly way. Roland had a scared confused expression on his face.

"You went out the window," I blew the feather toward his direction until the feather landed on his shoulder. He all of a sudden was thrown to the window and landed in the garden form a 3 story mansion.

I scoffed and walked away from the glass window. My wings and feathers disappeared, along with the Raven. I put my eye patch back on until the two butlers broke into the room. Reginald ran to me while Roland's butler stood there in shock.

"Young Mistress! Are you hurt?" He asked in a worried tone.

"I am just fine Reginald," I sadi in a calm voice.

"But idk if Roland is ok," I said look towards the window. I felt myself being picked up by my butler, and wrapped my arms around his neck. Also for me to be only 5,1 and Reginald was 6,2.

"Due to the current circumstances, I suppose it is best that my Mistress should evacuate this manor," He looked toward the shook butler.

"Do you hear me?" He questioned.

"Y-Yes Reginald," Roland's butler finally got to his sense and ran to the broken window that gave the view of the garden.

Reginald carried me down stairs and into the carriage. As we both came towards the horse pulled vehicle, a raven flew over our heads. We both sat down and smirked, while the carriage started to move. Reginald always knew about my unusual eye, but never witnessed it's true capable abilities. The look he gave he came into the room, was making me think he knew that my eye finally showed it's true power.

As the carriage pulled us home, I still felt the presence of the midnight black feathered raven's presence growing inside me. Almost like my soul was slowly being surrounded and filled with this Raven's presence.

And that dark feeling began to grow on the rest of they way home.....
