Chapter 29 - Sister Sister

It's the next morning and Ava is exhausted. She couldn't stop thinking about what Blake said. The words 'Sister' haunted her all night long. It's not that she doesn't want to be his sister, it's just that she is upset that her parents didn't tell her. Scratch that, she's heartbroken. Why doesn't she remember Blake? She knows she was just a kid, but wouldn't she remember growing up with a boy four years older than her? Well Ava was probably already taken by the queen.. Ava sighs. All this age math was confusing. She walks to the kitchen, smelling sweet waffles. The exact opposite of what she was feeling. Her dad was cooking while her brother was on his phone. "Where is mom?" Ava asks Blake. She does this on purpose so Blake can get a hint that she knows. "Uhm Ariel is dealing with our Giant problems. Literally." He lets out a nervous chuckle, glancing at Eric. Blake makes bad jokes when he is nervous, which is honestly never. Blake was a pretty straightforward, emotionless, bland guy. He guesses that having the family around changed him for the better. "Oh.. okay."

Since Shang Hei barely even feels Summer, the wind was blowing harshly. Ava and Blake are sitting on the front porch, facing each other. Ava told Blake they needed to talk, so Blake was fidgeting in his seat, nervous. 'This is so unlike me,' he scolds himself. Ava focuses her eyes on him, putting on her best poker face. "Blake, I know your secret." "What secret Ava?" Ava rolls her eyes and says slowly, "I'm your sister," still not believing it herself. "How did you find out?" "When you were in my room last night. I heard everything." Blake silently scolds to himself. 'I knew it was too risky.' "So uhm.. how do you feel? Knowing it now that is.." "I feel the same.. I already considered you my big brother, so nothing changed." Blake's hard heart melts. He was so happy she wasn't mad, and she even already thought he was like a brother! Blake leans in and hugs Ava. Ava hugs him back, smiling ear to ear. They embrace each other for a while, just standing there hugging.

Soon enough Blake pulls back, looking at the girl that has matured in front of his eyes. He then felt sad about missing out on her childhood. He decides that from this point on he will stay close to her, protecting her. "Oh, and Ava?" "Yeah?" "I'm.. I was... born a Titan."
