Arriving back in Kansas felt like a breath of fresh air because it felt like home again to be back where it would have just started if Jana's dad wouldn't have gotten involved to begin with. They were fine as a couple until he intervened that caused her to go all the way to Michigan to get her girlfriend back and revenge still taste good on her lips. Jana wanted to make sure he paid for everything he caused but first and foremost she needed to check on her mom last she checked she was still at their house. Approaching their home turning the truck into the driveway as Angel laughed seeing Wallace still in the doorway unconscious after two days, she assumed Mary had taken a few kickings to him too. Angel watch Jana go scan the house for her mom then ran two doors down as Angel followed behind not sure of knowing what is going on.
Angel saw Jana open her parents home as she waved Angel forward, she walked slowly to the door, peeking in to find Mary by herself.
"Where is dad?" Jana asked.
"He is gone for good, our marriage has been on the rocks long before you decided to be with Angel just when you wanted her over Wallace that is what tipped it over the edge. You don't need him baby girl." Mary replied.
"Mom, I am so sorry. What are you going to do about this house? You can't be left alone you're health isn't that great and hasn't been in years." Jana responded worrying.
"My little girl never change who you are. I can handle everything still it is okay. I am taking my medication and everything that is required, your dad never helped anyways. We only stayed together for your sake." Mary explained in a shaking voice.
"We can place you in a nursing home. You won't be by yourself." Angel suggested.
"No, I will not have it, I can handle everything as it is. You two need to go live your life without me being in the way. I am fine on my own and have been for many years." Mary replied.
Angel grabbed Jana's hand as they left the house silently heading back to their home hand in hand without having Jana freak out about their divorce that has been in the works for years, she knows Jana loves them both but her father honestly isn't worth all this pain. Reaching their house Jana turned Angel around holding both her hands.
"Don't ever leave me, please, not like my dad did." Jana said.
"Babe, I am not going anywhere, I promise." Angel replied then kissed Jana's forehead.
They walked inside their home then making love in their living room until they couldn't take it anymore. They knew that they needed each other more than anything and this is their happiness. After making love they headed into the kitchen to make dinner of tilapia, corn, and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. Then as they were about to set the table their doorbell rang out of nowhere, Jana ran to the door to answer it.
"Jana, is Angel here?" A woman said out of breath.
"Don't tell me you are here to get between us?" Jana replied.
"What? No, it involves Angel's grandma's home it is urgent." The woman responded.
Angel came up behind Jana saying, "Hey Ashton, what are you talking about my grandma's home? I have foreclosed it to the bank years ago."
"That is what I have come to discuss with you, can I come in?" Ashton replied.
"Yes, yes come in. We were about to have dinner, would you like some?" Angel asked.
"No, thank you. I need to go over this and get back to Michigan for another case. Anyways, so Angel when did you foreclose on the house?" Ashton asked.
"In 2012 after she passed." Angel replied.
"According to this you were married to Scarlett Myra Thomas at the time, is that true?" Ashton responded.
"What? No, she was my girlfriend in High School but we broke up." Angel replied raising an eyebrow. "Where are you getting at Ashton?"
"I hate to say this Angel, your wife Scarlett kept the house for you both back in 2013 without anything paid on. Are you sure you filed for foreclosure in 2012?" Ashton responded sternly. "Yes, yes, yes, and Scarlett isn't my wife, never was, never have been. I can't believe she is framing me, I got rid of her years ago." Angel replied in frustration.
"Well then Misses. Knight looks like you will be in a battle with Misses. Thomas to get this straightened out because our records show you are married." Ashton responded as she left in a hurry out the front door.
Angel got up from the couch and began pacing back and forth across the room over and over as Jana grabbed Angel to halt her.
"Angel, it will be okay. We will get this sorted out, relax." Jana said.
"I can't be married to that witch, I never signed anything. She must of forged my signature when I went to get the U-Haul truck because she was there the same time." Angel replied gritting her teeth.
"Angel, she must of done something to make this scene explains why everyone gave us weird looks in the restaurants and the hotel staff because you signed as Angel Knight instead of Thomas though I wouldn't sign her last name either but this will get cleared up." Jana responded calmly.
Angel released herself from Jana than sat back down on the couch. Jana knew their dinner is cold but that can be reheated they needed each other. They will have to do something to prevent Scarlett from coming between them now. Jana held onto Angel tightly knowing this will change a dynamic of their relationship just a bit because now Angel will have to clearly file for divorce while foreclosing on her grandmother's house out in Michigan where she grew up after they just left from there. This all needs to go away.
