Chapter 19 - Chapter 7

Gracelyn made herself eat, sleep, and shower though she felt so basic. Gracelyn knew Hildegard tried cheering her up but it seemed like a difficult task.

"Gracelyn, he's a pirate. You can't expect him to return to you. Korin isn't one to settle with anyone." Hildegard said.

"I shouldn't have seduced him to get my way. Hell, I am not a Princess anyways. He wouldn't want a normal human, I wouldn't be fun to be around." Gracelyn replied.

"He would have been attracted to you naturally whether a Princess or Human but honestly, you don't need a man to be happy." Hildegard responded.

"What are you getting at? You know I never have been with a girl. Hell, all we did was lay close to each other in the library." Gracelyn replied with her head to the side.

Gracelyn watched as Hildegard got within inches of her face then lowered her voice.

"A gift of magic."

Before Gracelyn could object any thought. Her words were lost with Hildegard's lips captured in hers as she let out a moan that she didn't know could happen. Gracelyn felt Hildegard release the kiss that she instantly touched her lips with shaking fingers. Gracelyn felt herself back away from Hildegard and lowered her head. Gracelyn felt guilty for what her thoughts questioned of every step. She knew that Laila kissed her but their was more spark and jolt to her body than with Hildegard kissing her. Gracelyn only kept herself apart from Laila due to her parents ruling and that she was engaged to Lucy. Her life became more twisted with unresolved answers.

"What is the matter, fair lady? Did you not like our shared kiss?" Hildegard asked in her sweet voice.

"I can't answer that right now but I need to find a way to Kingdom Ruitha." Gracelyn replied in a rush.

"Ruitha? Where in heaven is that?" Hildegard responded with curiosity.

"I believe you just answered our very own question. But I must go and find Laila Kingston the Princess of her own Kingdom." Gracelyn replied.

"You aren't going to need to leave. I have found her in our dungeons for spying on you as of late and I highly disapprove of her trying to take my sweet Gracelyn." Hildegard responded in her vicious laugh.

"No, no! You can't do that. She is me and Tessa's guardian Angel. She is sent to protect us." Gracelyn replied freaking out.

"I did and she will die peacefully in a few days. You won't ever have to worry about her disturbing us any longer." Hildegard responded with a sneer.

Gracelyn freaked as she wanted to know where this dungeon is located in the castle. She needed to know how to get Laila back and to keep them both safe. Gracelyn looked at Hildegard who didn't seem to care either way.

"I will take you to her to say goodbye but then we are planning ourselves a wedding for all the town to see. You will be my bride." Hildegard said as she walked out of the room.

Gracelyn ran behind her to catch up then slowed at a walking pace.

"Hildegard, I don't want to marry you. You are hurting someone that is my protection. You are a wonderful woman but I must decline." Gracelyn replied looking down at her feet.

Gracelyn felt Hildegard shove her against a wall with a loud thud while holding Gracelyn by the throat.

"You aren't allowed to decline, you filthy human! In my Kingdom, in my world without my parents, I am in control and you, Gracelyn Hyland will be my wife. Do I make myself clear?" Hildegard responded by pressing her fingers tighter around Gracelyn's neck.

"Y-y-yes, my lady." Gracelyn replied with struggling to breath as Hildegard dropped her then kicked her ribs multiple times with her heel.

Gracelyn got up slowly and held herself against the wall as she tried not to cry from her ribs hurting. As she struggled to stand up and walk, Hildegard had grabbed Gracelyn by the hair then dragged her down to the dungeon where Laila looked so broken that it made her scream her name over and over.

"Wake up, Laila, please! Wake up! Laila, I need you to wake up." Gracelyn pleaded.

Gracelyn saw her wings beaten and destroyed. Her legs in awkward positions. Gracelyn couldn't believe the horror of her Angel.

"Let me in! Let me see her." Gracelyn demanded.

"Only for five minutes then it is back upstairs to shower and eat." Hildegard replied.

"Five minutes! That is it! She is dying and you have nearly killed her." Gracelyn responded against the bars.

"My rule is five minutes for visitors so do you want in or not?" Hildegard replied.

"Fine, yes, let me in." Gracelyn responded as she heard the lock open.

Gracelyn tried to run towards Laila though her ribs still were very sore. Gracelyn reached Laila then laid her in her lap as Gracelyn sobbed and kissed her forehead. Gracelyn knew Laila loved her very much though she denied it. Gracelyn wiped Laila's face to see her beauty then leaned over lightly to kiss her soft lips and when she kissed them, she felt her tears run down her face. Gracelyn knew that she would probably not be able to kiss her again. Gracelyn lifted her head up to see Laila looking at her.

"You're awake but broken all over." Gracelyn whispered.

"Gracelyn, marry her. I lived a good life watching you and Tessa. I love you..." Laila coughed out loud.

"No, you can't leave me. I don't want to be with Hildegard. Laila, please!" Gracelyn pleaded through tears.

"She is going to kill me anyways. Gracelyn, babe, remember that you are sweet and tell Lucy that I have loved her too. Be the Queen you are meant to be." Laila coughed again then gave Gracelyn one last strong kiss that her body would let her.

Gracelyn cried through their kiss that sparked through her body. Once their kiss was released Laila fell over and died in Gracelyn's arms. Gracelyn let out a blood curdling scream with more anguish she wanted to be with Laila. Gracelyn kissed her hand then was led out of the imprisonment as Laila laid their without movement and Gracelyn walked away with her head down.
