Birdie was satisfied after fighting the three boys and beating them. They were still in a state of shock which really got her some advantage. Ian was still in the floor from the last combat. Birdie started to stretch as the other two looked at her like she was an alien or something. "Sooooo, why are you looking at me like that ?" she already knew but she wanted them to tell her. Honestly she had a great time, not just because she won, but because she spent some time with other people and didn't freak out.
"Well you just beat our asses and we are like two times you in size and three times stronger" Scott said really impressed. "Yeah, how could we have guessed that being this tiny and adorable-" Ian said from the floor "Uhum" Birdie said "Ah right, not adorable at all, but even so, that was amazing. Even though I'm a little sore, it was worth it" he continued. Birdie helped him up and patted his back, "It was my pleasure"
When they finished packing and she promised they would do this some other time, Birdie made her way home. She still had some homework from today's classes, a few hacking jobs and still training to do. Though she thought since she had fought quite a lot today she might swim instead.
As she got home, she immediately heard Frank's voice saying something like "Alert, alert..." so she ran to her office and sat in front of the computer as she tried to calm Frank down. "Hey what's the matter ? What's going on uh ?". She was starting to freak out too. "Well you know this organisation of hackers called The Flame right ?" "Well yeah they've wanted me to join for a long time Frank, we always said no remember ?" she said relaxing after hearing it was about this. She didn't give a wit about this guys, not because she believed she was better than them, because in this group the best hackers in the whole world contacted each other, so it was important. She just didn't want friends so she always said no.
"Well I think you're going to like them much better now" said Frank with a tad bit of amusement in his tone, "Their leader wants to talk to you and she said they have information on what happened to your family". Birdie's breathing came to a halt as she remembered all the times she couldn't find anything on who killed her family or how it happened. She herself wasn't too sure about what happened that night.
"Ok show me exactly what they sent" Birdie went into full hacker mode as Frank showed her how The Flame contacted her, and when. They spent about an hour planning the approach, and when they finally got it she prepared herself to start fulfilling all the requirements that she needed to be able to contact the group. Apart from this she created a virus that would install itself on the members of the group and find all the data on the individual as well as a monitoring program to control all their movements.
She was ready to talk so she contacted first, she didn't want to waste any time. As a person appeared in her screen, more specifically a woman that looked about thirty and had blonde hair and brown eyes, she started speaking, "Hello, even though you probably know who I am I'll present myself. I'm Birdie Condez, or more known by you, as Shadow. Now I know you contacted me when I wasn't home so since I'm here now, please present yourself and make your demand on what you want in exchange for the information I believe you have."
"Well, you cut straight to the point uh ?" Birdie threw one of her death glances and she continued "Ok, as you know we've been trying to get to you for a while and as we grew more interested in you after all you're last works, which were amazing, we decided to look into you to see if we could find something that would make you join us".
Birdie started thinking, she did start upgrading her jobs. She was mostly known for getting through some of the most difficult security systems in the world, from top level companies to secret organisations like the CIA. But she now started making changes in the software of the places she entered. She would make the software stronger and then she would try again and again. That was her fun, but for the jobs, she started doing more dangerous jobs and selling her own software, each different to thee one before.
"Well yeah, I have been a bit bored this days you know Raven ?" she looked at Birdie with schok. After all she never said her name. Seeing this Birdie continue, "Yeah I know all of your names and your agees and your family and where you live and all, don't be surprised".
At this Raven, her hacker name, or better yet, Emily Davenport, recomposed herself and continued, "As I was saying, we want you to be a part of the group, you can continue doing everything alone but sometimes you would have to sign with group's name under yours" Birdie was interested in the offer if it would help her with he family. Anyway she wouldn't say that to Emily so she asked "What information do you have on my family's murder ?" Emily looked taken aback because of her forwardness but anyway answered in time, "We located him in London and we found out who he was because after that night three years ago he left your house and registered himself in a hotel not far from there. In every place he stayed in her left a digital print because he always played with a mastercard sso we followed him to the present time in London" Birdie was shocked out of her mind. She ordered Frankk to check the information and while he did, she continued the conversation.
"Ok, let's say your information is valid, all I have to do is sign your name under some of my works to leet the world know that I'm in The Flames and that's it ?" she inquired. "No, you also have to attend the monthly meetings and share your month" You could tell Emily knew you were going to take the deal. "Also" she continued "We can let you use the resources we used to track the murderer" As she was saying this Frank verified all the info. "Well, you've got yourself a deal" Birdie said.
