Birdie has never felt so observed until this moment. The moment she walked out of Jason's car all eyes went to her and even some took their phones out to take a photo or a video, through the minute they did she would glare at them. The whispers wouldn't stop, even if she was a meter away from the people gossiping. If the whispers yesterday were bad, today she was tempted to kill the person who opened the mouth next. Apparently, according to someone around here she was the next Beethoven but prettier, or some sort of other crappy comment. Jason was beside her trying to stifle his laughter, his pearly white teeth showing from his perfect mouth. Jason has always been handsome, all the girls around him would feel flushed. Except for her. Whis his blonde hair and green eyes he was very charming.
She was already tired for the day and it didnt even started. She had six classes today. Two of them were for computer engineering so she could skip those and do some training since she couldn't run today. She would have to tell Jason though cause he had the same classes.
She attended Cell and molecular biology as her first class, but was bored out of her mind because she already had this class with her notes as she came last year and took the subject. She just didn't do the exams because she didn't have time, but at least she had the notes now. Her next class was Advanced Inorganic Chemistry and they did a quick test that she finished first.
And so her morning went by and it was lunch time. She agreed to meet with Jason at the door of the cafeteria and eat together. She would normally eat alone in the library since she liked to get her homework done before she got home so she could focus on her hacking jobs and her training, but today with all the people paying attention to what she was doing she preferred to not be alone.
Birdie never liked the cafeteria, but today she decided that she hated it. Since she went inside everyone is looking at her, she even noticed that after she ordered her salad and chicken and the lady gave it to her, some people started to ordering the same, which was a bit creepy if you asked her.
Jason and her sat in the table at the back, it was the only one free when they got there. Everyone had their group like in the movies. Birdie thought this couldn't get more stereotypical, but she was so wrong. As she finished with her salad and jason was finishing his pizza, three people sat at the table. They were the typical jocks that were super popular and played sports. This ones though weren't as stupid as the others. They got good grades and didn't get in trouble as much. Anyway they were from the popular crowd and you usually couldn't expect anything good from them.
"Hello, we are Scott, Calum and Ian, can we sit here with you ?" The one with brown hair asked, it was obvious he was strong as his arms were really tight in his long sleeved shirt. Apparently he was Scott. The one to his right was Ian and he had the most mesmerizing blue eyes she had ever seen. Though she had interesting eyes herself, this ones were beautiful. Continuing, the one to his left was Calum and he was the typical blonde guy that is as hot as you can imagine.
Birdie was already bored of this conversation. They probably wanted to get something from her. Some notes from the class she just had. "Uhm you just did anyway so" she just wanted a quiet and calm lunch but that wasn't possible. "So, what do you want ?" she went straight to the point. She didn't like small talk.
They looked shocked with her forwardness, however, Jason was trying very poorly to contain his laughter. Ian was the first one to get out of it and tried to answer, "We, uhm wanted to uh, ask if you wanted to, uh go to the uh, gym today after school. But, uhm only if you want of course". Well, she wouldn't have expected this ever, "And why would you ask that ?" now she was curious as to why they would want to do this with her. Not many people knew that she trained, as when she she came running to the university there weren't much people here yet.
"Well" Calum continued, "We heard that you run here every morning and we also can see that you're pretty strong" he said not really convinced, "That's it ? I would have thought you had more reasons" Birdie knew they were hiding something. They looked at eachother like they were deciding who would speak next. Finally Ian again spoke, apparently he is the braves one. "Well we accidentally saw your knuckles so we assume you do some sort of kickboxing" the smile he had in his face was filled with doubt and uncertainty.
"Well that make more sense" Birdie said out loud without wanting to. She didn't know what to do, from one side she didn't want to go cause she couldn't show around her training, as it was much more than kickboxing. From the other side she didn't want them telling other people about her knuckles. She made a decision, "I'll go to the gym on one condition" the three boys nodded their heads like puppies, and this time Jason couldn't help but laugh. Birdie shot him a death glare to make him stay quite and the continued, "I will go on the condition that you don't tell anyone about my knuckles", she knew it may sound suspicious, but she couldn't afford this to go out and for people to continue talking about her.
As they agreed on her terms, lunch was almost over and Birdie made her way to her last class. While she was on her way she made a quick phone call to her Auntie Margie and asked her if she wanted to go to train with her for a few hours before the boys arrived. Of course she agreed as they haven't seen each other in a while and Marga wanted to check on her after yesterday They agreed to meet in Marga's gym as she didnt have one at home like Birdie does, and after hanging up, Birdie sent the details to the boys.
Her last class, which was Physical Chemistry, went by super fast for her, though she was sure that it didn't for her classmates, considering a third of the class was mostly asleep. She made her way out of the building and to the front door on the university. Auntie Margie was waiting for her there sat in her car. The minute she got in the car Marga started kissing her all over her face until she freed herself and asked her Auntie to get a grip on herself. Then Birdie would have thought she would start talking about her kids and how she was sick of them but loved them a lot too, but she just said "So come on, Birdie, spill the beans".
