Topaz walks around Vale by himself. Ruby had asked him if he could help try and look for Blake while the rest of her team searched the other side of the city. He makes his way around, and catches a hint of Blakes scent, its faint but it is still there. Following the scent until it gets stronger and stronger, Topaz finds himself a rooftop café and can see Blake sitting across from a Blonde guy with a monkey tail. 'He must be the faunus stowaway that started all this' Topaz thinks to himself.
Topaz: "Blake. There you are. Are you ok?"
Blake: "Topaz? What are you doing here, and how did you find me?"
Topaz points to his nose before pulling up a chair at their table.
Topaz: "I followed your scent. Ruby was starting the freak out because she's worried about you, so she asked me to help look for you."
Blake: "Why?"
Topaz: "Why what?"
Blake: "Why does she care so much. I haven't done anything to warrant her worrying about me."
Topaz: *chuckling* "That's just how she is. She's a sweet girl who cares about everyone. Since she's your leader, she also feels responsible for you when it comes to your well being."
Blake: "She doesn't have to be."
Topaz: "She can't help it. It's just who she is. By the way, who's your friend?"
Blake: "Oh right, Topaz this is Sun. Sun this is Topaz, a classmate from Beacon."
Sun: "Pleased to meet you, I'm Sun Wukong. I'm from Shade Academy."
Topaz: "Pleased to meet you Sun, I'm Topaz. Of Beacon Academy."
After talking with Sun and Blake for a while, they tell Topaz about their plan for keeping an eye on the big dust shipment that is supposed to come in that night. Blake was very adamant about Topaz staying away from the docks, something about him not needing to fight her battles. Topaz agreed to not helping her, but prepares himself to watch their backs from a distance, just in case. Waiting until that evening, Topaz continues his walk around Vale. At one point, he comes across a truck that looks like crashed into something. According the rumors of everyone around the area, apparently the Truck hit a girl with bright orange hair as she protected another girl who sounds very similar to Ruby. Topaz can only shake his head and hope his younger sister is ok.

Topaz found different ways to occupy his time until it was dark. He is now making his way through the alleyways that surround the docks. He makes his way into an alley about a block away from where the docks are at. As he makes his way in, he sees someone enter from the other end of the alley. Said person stands there and just stares at Topaz.
Topaz: "Hello, nice night for a walk in the alley isn't it?"
????: "...."
Topaz: "Oooh-K then. Can I help you?"
????: "...."
Topaz takes another step towards the unknown figure who refuses to reply to him. Getting closer, he notices a feminine figure with her arms at her sides. After a few moments the figure takes a step towards Topaz and holds out their arm. As the figure draws near, Topaz recognizes her.
Topaz: "Neo, is that you. It's good to see you."
Neo waves her hand at Topaz with a smile on her face. Writing something down quickly, she hands him a slip of paper.
{Hi Topaz. I didn't expect to run into you here tonight. What are you doing here?}
Topaz: "One of my sisters' teammates is doing something in this area tonight, so I'm making sure they won't run into any trouble."
Another note is handed to Topaz.
{Please get away from here, it won't be safe soon.}
Looking at her face he can see the guilt and sadness in her eyes.
Topaz: "What do you mean, not safe? Neo, what's going on?"
Topaz looks at her and can see her start to cry. She hands him another note before stepping back.
{The partner I mentioned the night you saved me isn't a good guy. But he's the only person aside from you who's shown me any care. He has plans to rob a large dust shipment tonight with the help of some people he has started working with. Please Topaz, leave. I don't want to see you get hurt.}
Topaz: "Neo, I can't leave, and you shouldn't be hanging around with someone like that. It will only draw you into deep trouble."
At this point, Neo has sunk to her knees and is sobbing. Topaz kneels down next to her and puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. Seeing her start to write he backs up a little to give her some space. After a little she hands him the note she was writing.
{What should I do? He's the closest thing to family I have. I don't think I could just abandon him. But after I met you, I realized Just how bad the life I was living was. I don't know what to do.}
Topaz was heartbroken seeing the girl cry. Seeing her breakdown and not knowing how to help her tore him up inside. Not knowing what to do, he wraps her in a warm hug and lets her cry it out. After a few minutes, her crying begins to calm down and she sniffles to herself.
Topaz: "Are you ok?"
Nodding her head, Neo looks up at Topaz and gives him a weak smile. She begins writing again and then hands Topaz the note.
{My partner should be starting soon. He's expecting me to be there to give him assistance. Goodbye Topaz.}
Topaz: "Neo, you don't have to go back to him. I get you still care about him but he is only dragging you down. Please, take care of yourself."
Neo shakes her head and writes once more.
{Can I see your scroll?}
Topaz hands her his scroll and she puts in her information into it. Topaz then sends her a message on it and sees her pull out a scroll of her own.
{Topaz: You don't have to Neo, you have a choice in life.}
{Neo: I know I don't, but I am still going to. I feel like I can help you by doing this. Please let me do this.}
Topaz: "Neo. I couldn't ever ask you to put yourself in danger to give myself an edge. I truly appreciate you doing this, but please don't do anything too risky for yourself. If it starts getting too dangerous, you send me a message and I'll get you out."
Neo looks into Topaz's eyes before giving him a smile and nodding her head. She walks over to Topaz and gives him a hug and walks towards the docks, only to be stopped by the sound of a large explosion. Hearing the explosion, Neo and Topaz both make their way to the docks to see a girl with bright orange hair pulling a couple of airships back towards herself using a large amount of swords and metal wiring. Topaz notices Neo looking at a man he has seen all too many times on wanted posters all over the city of Vale. Roman Torchwick.
Topaz: "Neo, is Roman your partner?"
Neo looks down at her feet, not wanting to look Topaz in the eyes. She eventually nodded slightly making Topaz sigh.
Topaz: "You know, him being your partner only makes me want to get you out of there even more. He and my sister had a little run in the night you and I first met you know."
Neo looks up to him in surprise. Typing on her scroll quickly, then looking to Topaz as his scroll vibrates.
{The girl Roman calls red is your sister?}
Topaz: "Yep, Ruby is one of my sisters."
{Don't you hate me because of it. Had I not gotten captured by those guys that night I would have been there also. I could have hurt your sister.}
Topaz: "But you didn't. Instead you found out that you matter as a person. I can only assume that Roman has been so kind to you because of something you are able to do. Maybe your semblance is convenient, or maybe you remind him of someone he used to care about. I don't know, nor does it matter. What does matter is that you should be living a much better life."
Neo's eyes open wide and then begin to glisten with tears. She then looks at her right hand and Topaz can only stare in wonder of what he sees.
