The captain's hands tingled a little bit as Wang Fan approached.
Although his cultivation base was higher than Wang Fan's, he had his family support.
The clothes on his back weren't just regular garments.
His silk red robes were made of a flame worm's silk, which acted like light weight armor. Meanwhile his boots and gloves were snow leopards leather which help reduce air resistance, and the rings on his finger each held a defensive spell formed by the Wang Family's head.
In other words his entire attire were magical treasures!
Just from this one could see how wealthy the Wang Family truly was. It made one frightened by the thought on how the Xue Family was able to force them down.
Although all of these magical treasures weren't insanely strong, even one of them would help one increase their battle prowess by a small amount.
And the amount Wang Fan wielded made it possible for him to face off against a level five practitioner.
That was his main source of power.
"Wang Fan, don't you think you're going too far?"
He just shook his head, "They made a fool of my family. Although that idiot Wang Dong undoubtedly deserved it, it is still something I cannot forgive."
The captain sighed to himself as he brought both of his fists up in preparation for battle.
There was no way this would end using only words.
"You really think you can stop me captain? Well you're wrong." Wang Fan snapped his fingers together, and like dogs answering their master, a group of ten soldiers arrived from out of nowhere prepared for battle.
"I was already planning on dealing with Tian Kai today, now dealing with you will just be a nice bonus."
"If Zhou Wei heard about this…"
Wang Fan clicked his tongue in annoyance, "Tch. I promise he won't!"
Wang Fan whipped out a solid baton from the inside of his robes and slashed with it.
The baton whistled in the wind as its tip just barely missed the captain's nose.
"You're going to need to try a lot more than that to defeat me. Bring it on Wang Fan!" The captain pulled a scimitar out from his waist and held it up menacingly.
At first he just wanted to deal with this whole ordeal quietly, but it was clear that Wang Fan was determined.
If he didn't get serious, he would be seriously injured!
Wang Fan snickered as the baton in his hand suddenly extended out.
Grabbing the staff with both of his hands, he pointed one end toward the captain
To the surprise of Xue Chang, Wang Fan used a staff just like Lou Lan!
Turning over to face his men, Wang Fan gave out a simple order.
"Finish off Tian Kai and that kid then come assist me!"
Things were getting dangerous now. Wang Fan didn't seem to just want to deal with Tian Kai. It appeared that he planned to obtain complete control over the guards.
He planned on crippling the captain.
The people Wang Fan brought all nodded to each other as they all turned toward Tian Kai.
Of course he wasn't going down without a fight.
Without even a word said, Tian Kai launched himself forward and slammed his knee directly into someone's face. Completely knocking them away.
Using that person's face to rebound around, he then spun himself in midair and slammed his leg into another person.
But this time they weren't knocked aside.
Instead this fighter got assistance from one of his comrades who quickly came over and the two blocked the attack together.
Another person jumped up from behind Tian Kai and clasped their hands together preparing to knock the back of his head out with his fists, but a mysterious force immediately enveloped his body and slammed him into the ground.
Of course Xue Chang wasn't just going to sit around as his friend was attacked.
His eyes began to glow slightly as the air around his hands slightly became distorted.
Tian Kai continued his assault on the two who blocked him.
Falling to the ground and spin kicking their legs, he tried to knock them off their balance.
Yet they both moved in perfect unison and kicked back at his legs stopping him midway.
One of them even threw his fist down in a counterattack, but Tian Kai slammed his palms into the ground which launched him up and helped him avoid the attack.
He was a little annoyed that he couldn't finish off these two people immediately. He just didn't have enough attack power to finish it quickly.
But that didn't mean he was easy prey.
Tian Kai could sense that someone was approaching him from behind.
Without even hesitating for a second, his fist ignited slightly as the full power of his elemental cultivation erupted.
Turning around, he immediately brought his fist out and extended it with all of his power backing it up.
The results were devastating as it not only made contact but the force of his punch created a clean hole right through the abdomen.
Tian Kai's eyes remained unflinching as the body of his assailant collapsed onto the ground.
He wasn't the soft young boy from a few years ago who shivered in abandoned alleyways and cursed his own fate.
He had no time to be worrying for himself now much less for another. That's why everything he did was full of determination and was without regret.
Xue Chang's eyes stayed on the body for just a second before his gaze drifted away.
He could no longer act like the innocent boy he once was. With all that happened, he knew it wasn't his place to judge others.
While he still opposed to killing humans, he wasn't going to stop Tian Kai if he deemed it necessary. It was either his life or his opponent's.
Xue Chang continued to suppress back as many people as he could. But it took more effort than he thought.
Because the suppression worked in turn with his conscious effort, if he became distracted by another assailant then the first one he held back might break free. As such he needed to put his full attention into the battlefield.
But he realized that at this rate things weren't looking good for them.
If Wang Fan won his fight against the captain. Then only he would be able to stand up to him.
That was too big of a risk for them to fight in the middle of the city. If his secret was exposed then he would be hunted down for his unique body. He couldn't let that happen!
He needed a way to end this fight quickly.
Looking down at the puppy right next to him, Xue Chang nodded slightly as he whispered out one word.
"Go."
