Chapter 34 - Life sure is strange!

Dorian and Finian looked at Shiro. They could see that the man was anxious, and smiling gently, Dorian took Shiro's hand in his.

"Let's go to the living room."

As they walked, Shiro was amazed by how that smile could affect him so much. He immediately felt a lot calmer when he looked at Dorian. Was this a result of their bond, or was it just that Dorian had a natural ability to make people feel calm?

When they sat in the living room, Dorian and Shiro on the sofa, and Finian in the armchair, Shiro took a deep breath and started talking.

"I have a stalker. He hasn't done anything in several years, but Deion told me he's at it again."

Shiro felt the stares of the two men, but he couldn't look at them. Shiro's eyes were fixed on his clenching fists in his lap.

"What kind of things has he done?" Finian asked in a low voice, his hands resting on his stomach.

Shiro repeated everything Deion had told him over the phone. About the semen-stained pictures, about the letter. Dorian looked both horrified and angry, and Finian leaned forward. He was clearly interested.

"Did he ever get violent?"

"No, he didn't. I never even saw him, but we got a restraining order, and after that, he stopped."

Dorian and Finian didn't say anything and looked at each other. Shiro shook with uneasiness, and his stomach hurt. He didn't dare to look at them.

"Thank you for telling us, Shiro," Finian said, and Dorian pulled Shiro into an embrace.

"I will keep you safe, Babe," the blond man said, and gently kissed Shiro's cheek.

Shiro looked first at Dorian, and then at Finian. He was stunned.

"You're not angry?"

"Angry, why should we be angry?" Dorian said, surprised with his arms around Shiro.

"Well, of course, I'm angry at that piece of shit stalker. Delusional bastard thinking you're he's fated pair. He can go fuck himself," Dorian growled and held Shiro tight as if he wanted to protect the omega.

"But Im not angry with you."

"Did you think we would reject you because of this? Because we would be afraid that the stalker will hurt us?"

Shiro stared at Finian.

"He's crazy perceptive, isn't he?" Dorian said, and grinned, and Shiro nodded in agreement.

"So, I can still stay here with you?" He asked, and his voice was quivering nervously.

"Of course, Babe."

Dorian looked into Shiro's eyes and caressed his cheek with his free hand.

"You're family."

Shiro could feel his face getting hotter under the tender gaze from Dorian. But knowing Finian was there and watch them made him feel extremely guilty, and he looked down.

Dorian seemed to notice that Shiro was uncomfortable, and he also knew why. He felt strange about it himself. Dorian knew that Finian was there, but he still couldn't help it. The alpha couldn't stop being close to Shiro, even if his husband saw him. Dorian glanced at Finian and meet his gaze. It didn't take Dorian long to read his husband. After all, he had know Finian for most of his life. He knew the red-haired man, and he knew exactly what he was thinking at that moment. And Finian seemed to be at peace. There wasn't a single trace of jealousy or dislike in that calm face of his. Dorian smiled affectionately at him, thankful that he had someone as amazing as Finian in his Life. And he squeezed Shiro's hand.

"I' going to with Elliot about bodyguards. And when Deion comes back, I think I should talk with him about this as well."

"Thank you," Shiro said, and he was genuinely grateful.

"No worries, Luv," Dorian said and looked at Finian.

"You don't have any objections, right, Babe?"

"No. We will work through this like we always do. Don't worry, Shiro," Finian sounded so convincing that Shiro really believed him, and the younger man felt more at ease.

"How about we go to a restaurant for dinner today?" Dorian suddenly suggested.

"That sounds great. Italian?" Finian replied.

"Oh, a good choice. What do you think, Shiro?" Dorian asked and looked at his mate.

Shiro was amazed. The two men could so easily deal with such a disturbing subject, without any problem at all. Shiro was fascinated. He remembered how his parent had reacted when they heard about the stalker for the first time. They were terrified and put the blame entirely on Shiro. If he hadn't been such a useless omega, he would never have a stalker after him. However, Dorian and Finian didn't blame him at all. Instead, they wanted to keep him safe. Knowing that made Shiro feel safe and welcomed.

Shiro smiled brightly at Dorian.

"I love Italian."

"Alright, it's decided then. We'll pick up the kids and eat afterward."

"Oh, speaking of dinner. If you don't mind, Shiro, I would like to organize a family dinner this weekend to welcome you. It's that alright with you?" Finian's gaze was warm as he looked at Shiro.

Once again, Shiro was taken by surprise. He hadn't been expecting that at all.

"Yes, of course."

But Dorian glared at Finian, knowing something was up.

"Are you planning on inviting Lucas as well?"

Finian looked at his husband with a meaningful expression.

"Yes, Dorian, I am planning to invite your little brother, and I hope you will take this opportunity to make peace with him."

The married couple stared at each other for a little while. Shiro started feeling a little tense, and he fidgeted there, he sat on the sofa. He had heard that Dorian wasn't on good terms with his brother, but he wasn't sure of why.

But Dorian didn't object. He just sighed and heaved his eyes.

"Fine. But I will take care of it. Without your meddling, Finian."

Finian held up his palms in front of him and tried to look innocent.

"I promise I won't do a thing."

Dorian didn't believe him, but let the subject go. He thought that even if Finian was sometimes a bit cunning, he was cute, and Dorian simply couldn't get mad at him.

Dorian's cellphone called, and it was the delivery from the shop. A truck was soon about to arrive at the house. It took the three of them almost two hours to unpack the things they bought. And at one time, Dorian left his two lovers to go to the bathroom.

"Shiro, are you comfortable being here with me?" Finian asked when they were alone, and Shiro stopped unpacking a table lamp and turned to look at Finian.

"Yes, very much so. You are very kind, and you make me feel welcome. But the truth is that I don't really understand you. How can you be so relaxed about your husband's bonded pair living in the same house as yourself, and your children?"

A kind smile spread upon Finian's lips.

"You will soon notice that I am a very rational person. Sure, in the beginning, I was shocked and had difficulties moving past my self-pity. But I realized that there was no point in fighting this. You are Dorian's fated pair, his other half. And I accept that. I admit that sometimes it feels strange to see Dorian so close to somebody other than me, but it doesn't hurt as much as I thought it would."

"Have your feelings toward Dorian started to change?" Shiro looked at Finian as he asked, and to his own surprise, he felt anxious about the answer.

Shiro realized that he didn't want Finian to stop loving Dorian, even if that would mean he would have Dorian all to himself. If Finian were to leave Dorian, that would hurt the alpha extremely and break him, probably beyond repair.

However, Finian shook his head and looked at Shiro with determination.

"My feelings for Dorian haven't changed at all, and they never will. I still love Dorian more than anything. He's the only person I can ever love."

"How can you be so sure of that? How can you know that you will never love someone other than Dorian?" Shiro objected at once, feeling a bit tense, but also curious about the older man's reasoning.

After all, they were talking about things Shiro had experienced. That made Finian smile knowingly at Shiro, he instantly got what the younger man was referring to.

"I understand what you're thinking, Shiro. You probably thought you would never fall in love with anyone other than Kei, right?"

Shiro nodded, and Finian continued.

"But I simply can't. If Dorian dies, I will take my life. I refuse to live without him."

Shiro stared at Finian. The grave words shocked Shiro. But Finian smile didn't fade, he continued to smile at the younger man.

"Do my words surprise you?"

"Yes."

"I knew they would. But, you see. Dorian has been a part of my world since I was nine years old. He always said that it was love at first sight for him, but it took longer for me to fall in love with him. But when I realized that I was in love with my best friend, I had already relayed on Dorian for years. He is the kindest, funniest, and sexiest man in the world. He gives me so much, and I want to be with him every day until I take my last breath. I simply won't live without him. So if anything happens to Dorian, I will wait until our children have grown up, and make sure they have a happy life, and then I will follow Dorian."

While Finian talked, Shiro's eye was filled with tears. When they started to fall, Finian was startled and grabbed Shiro's hand.

"I'm sorry, Shiro. Of course, you don't want to hear me talk about your mate like that," he said apologetically.

But Shiro shook his head.

"That's not why I'm crying. I cry because your love is beautiful."

Finian was surprised over Shiro's words.

"You think?"

"Yes. Yours and Dorian's love for each other are so strong. Anyone can see that you truly belong together."

Finian smiled brightly at that, and he was grateful towards the black-haired man.

"Thank you, Shiro. I really needed to hear that right now."

Finian continued to pack up new bedding and glanced at the younger man.

"Dorian really cares about you, Shiro. I can see that in the way he acts towards you. And his gaze is filled with love."

"Really?"

Finian nodded, and Shiro looked down, his cheeks turning red. His heart was beating like crazy, he was ecstatic.

"You really love him, don't you?"

Shiro slowly looked up again and meet Finian's gaze. He could see that Finian already knew the answer, and the red-haired man was smirking a bit.

"Yes, I do. I love Dorian so much. I also want to be with him all the time, and I can't control myself when I'm with him. I'm sorry. It must be hard for you to watch."

"It's not hard at all. It's strange and new, but I'm not upset about it. After all, I feel the same way," Finian said and started laughing, Shiro looked at him with a surprised expression on his face.

"Life sure is strange! I never thought I would stand in my husband's boyfriend's room like this."

"It really is," Shiro agreed and started laughing as well, he felt much lighter than he had in a long time.

The two men smiled at each other and continued unpacking. Just outside the room, Dorian stood, leaning against the wall with a tender smile on his lips. He had heard most of the conversation, but he didn't want to erupt the talk, so he never said anything. Dorian felt overwhelmed by all the loving words both men said about him. He felt unbelievably lucky. After all, how many people had the fortune to be cherished by not only one fantastic person but two? Dorian just hoped that he was able to be the man they both deserved. And right there and then, Dorian swore he would never hurt them again.

The day past on peacefully. After the three men picked up the kids, they went to the restaurant and had a pleasant dinner together. Dorian spotted two paparazzi, but he never said anything to the others. After all, they had nothing to hide anymore. Shiro was apart of their family, and it didn't matter if the media got a hold of it. Nothing would change because of it.

In the evening, the three adults were sitting in the living room. The kids were in their rooms, ready to go to bed. Finian was working on his computer, and Shiro and Dorian were watching a movie about WWI. Dorian and Shiro had discovered that it wasn't just the love for the music they shared. They also had the same taste in movies, books, and games. Finian, on the other hand, was never the one to suggest watching movies. When he did, he preferred psychological thrillers and crime series. The kind of films that Dorian couldn't stand. He loved action movies and superheroes and fantasy. Just like Shiro did.

However, Finian was fine with working on the computer. As long as he was sitting in the same room as the others, and wasn't left out. Sometimes, he glanced and looked at Dorian and Shiro sitting pressed against each other on the couch. Dorian had his arm around Shiro's shoulders, and the slim man leaned against Dorian's chest. Finian was fascinated by it all, and as he watched the fated pair, he wrote down observations. Finian had asked the two men if he could use them in his study. After all, how often would Finian get the opportunity to closely observe a fated couple? And without any hesitation, Shiro and Dorian had given Finian their consent. Shiro didn't feel he had any right to object, and Dorian knew how important his work was to Finian.

So if Shiro or Dorian felt supervised, none of them showed it. Finian tried not to be too obvious about it, but his fingers played rapidly over the keyboard. This was truly remarkable data he was getting. Dorian's attitude had quickly changed so much after the bond was made. Before, he was cold toward the omega and didn't want to interact with him at all. They couldn't even mention Shiro's name without Dorian getting angry. And Finian thought about how desperate Dorian had been to avoid the bond. Even going so far as risking hurting not only himself but Shiro as well. But now he obviously cared about the omega and probably loved him, even though he didn't want to admit it to anyone else. Finian was sure that it was only a matter of time before Dorian would confess his love for the omega.

The red-haired alpha thought about what Shiro had asked him. If his feelings toward Dorian had changed. Finian understood why others could probably think so, seeing how easily he accepted Shiro and didn't show any jealously. Finian knew that usually, people weren't this accepting. Perhaps it was an effect of Dorian and Shiro's bond as well. There weren't any studies about situations like this, about how other people were affected by a fated pairs bond. And Finian had already decided to talk with his colleagues about this. Someone had to study him as well.

But Finian was sure of what he had said to Shiro, his love for Dorian hadn't changed. Actually, he probably loved Dorian even more now. Seeing Dorian care for his fated pair made Finian proud.

But when the movie ended, and it was time to go to bed, the first problem of this new cohabitation occurred. Where was Dorian going to sleep?

Finian said that because it was Shiro's first night in the house, Dorian should sleep with Shiro. However, Shiro promptly shook his head and said that they had spent the previous night together. So Dorian should, of course, sleep with Finian. Meanwhile, the confused Dorian wanted to split himself into two. Dorian refused to choose. He just couldn't. If he were a selfish man, Dorian would have wanted the three of them to sleep in the same bed. But that was far too early to even suggest, that much he knew.

"How about this then? I always fall asleep pretty fast, so Dorian can stay with me until I fall asleep. Afterward, he can spend the rest of the night in your bed," Finian suggested and looked at Shiro.

"Sounds good, I'm going to call Ikumi now anyway, so I won't sleep for a while."

Then both men looked at Dorian, who burst out laughing. It was a heartfelt laugh that made the two other men feel warm inside.

"This is really bonkers. You know that, right?" The blond alpha said with his beautiful, bright smile.

The other two men agreed. Their life had turned in to a twisted comedy-drama.

But Dorian did as Finian suggested, and while Shiro walked the opposite direction to his room, Dorian followed Finian to their chamber.

There they went about with the same procedure as they always did before going to bed. First, the two men changed their clothes. Finian, who was always a little cold, wore pajama pants and a big shirt on. Meanwhile, Dorian, who was on the hot side, only slept in his boxers. They brushed their teeth and finally got under the duvet. Finian instantly clinging to Dorian.

"Promise that you stay until I'm sleeping?"

Dorian put his arms around Finian's shoulders and kissed the top of his head.

"Of course, Luv. Are you sure that you don't want me to spend the entire night here? I don't really think Shiro will mind that much."

But Finian shook his head.

"That's alright, as long as I fall asleep, then it's fine. But think of Shiro. Spending his first night here, all alone. You have to be there for him."

"Alright, but come and get me if you wake up and can't fall asleep again."

Finian nodded and closed his eyes. Dorian looked down at his beloved husband, and his heart clenched. Ever since that day, when Finian was assaulted, the red-haired alpha had problems falling asleep. He didn't suffer from nightmares, but he didn't dare to relax if he were on his own. Feeling someone else beside him in bed, made it much easier for Finian to fall asleep. And Dorian knew that they had to tell Shiro about that incident. Because that day changed so much for Finian and Dorian. And it was one of the reasons why the two of them were so dependent on each other. When Dorian heard that Finian wanted to follow him in death, he wanted to cry. It made him soo sad, and it was the last thing Dorian wanted for Finian. He knew he was an easily jealous, possessive person. Still, Dorian wanted nothing more than for Finian to be happy, even if he were no longer around.

So Dorian sat in the bed, and he held Finian close to him. Trying to provide Finian's cool body with some of his warmth. The red-haired man rested his head on Dorian's chest, and the sound of the beating heart worked like a countdown. For every beat, Finian's eyes grew heavier, and his body started to relax until he fell asleep just minutes after getting into bed.

Dorian sat there on the bed for a little while longer. He wanted to make sure that Finian was sleeping properly before Dorian carefully laid him on his pillow and pulled the duvet over his shoulders. As slowly as the blond man could, he got out of bed. But before he left, Dorian took one last look at his husband, and with a gentle smile, he whispered;

"I love you, Finian," and then he walked out of the bedroom.

Dorian walked straight to Shiro's room, but he knocked gently on the door before he opened it. There was a response from the other side, and Dorian opened the door. Shiro was dressed in a big nightshirt and sat on the bed with the phone to his ear, and he smiled at Dorian.

"I'm just about to say goodbye to Ikumi," Shiro said and continued talking on the phone.

Dorian walked to the bed and sat down at the foot end. He glanced at Shiro and listened as the man said something in Japanese. Shiro had a gently, happy expression on his face. He was absolutely beautiful. Dorian couldn't get enough of looking at the black-haired man. So this was how he looked when he talked to his daughter. Dorian could see the love in the omegas face, and it really moved Dorian. He couldn't picture himself being away from his kids for such a long time, and he could only imagine the pain Shiro most feel.

When Shiro ended the call and looked at Dorian, he was smiling so brightly.

"I told Ikumi that I wanted her to move here."

"What did she say?"

"She started to cry. First, I thought Ikumi cried because she didn't want to, but when she calmed down, she told me that she really wanted to," Shiro said and had tears in his eyes.

Dorian could hear Shiro's relief, and it warmed his heart. The alpha crawled on the bed towards Shiro and held out his arms. Shiro didn't hesitate. He almost threw himself into his mate's arms and snuggled his face into Dorian's broad chest.

"I can't wait to meet her," Dorian said tenderly.

"You will love her. She is quiet and calm, but she is so sweet and really bright."

Dorian held on to Shiro even tighter.

"She sounds wonderful, Luv. I only hope she will come to like our family."

"How could she not? Your whole family is wonderful, and you are a great man Dorian."

Feeling thankful, Dorian kissed Shiro's forehead. Shiro looked at him, pouted a little with his lip, to let Dorian know that he wanted a kiss on the mouth. But the kiss was interrupted by a yawn from Shiro.

The pair looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"It's been a really long day," Shiro said apologetic, while his cheeks burned red.

"Yes, you're right. So come here, let's sleep."

Dorian pulled Shiro with him as he laid on the bed and held the slimmer man close to him. At first, Shiro was a little stiff, but almost instantly, he started to relax. Just as Finian had rested only a moment earlier, Shiro had his head on Dorian's chest, and he had his bare leg thrown across Dorian's. Dorian was getting tired as well, and he closed his eyes, but he noticed that Shiro was squirming beside him. It wasn't much, but Dorian could tell that the man was restless.

Dorian then felt it, the hard member that was pressed against his hip. Dorian glanced down at Shiro and smirked.

"Can't sleep?" he teased.

Shiro shook his head and looked up, his eyes almost pleading.

Sorry, I feel like a horny teenager again."

Dorian chuckled and kissed Shiro's forehead.

"I can help you with that, Babe, but it stills feels a bit weird to have sex with my kids and Finian in the same house. Is that okay?"

Shiro's eyes grow big, and quickly he shook his head.

"You don't have to do a thing! It will go over by itself soon."

"No can do, Luv," Dorian said and pressed his lips on to Shiro's.

The kiss was heated and left Shiro panting while Dorian vanished under the duvet.

"What are you doing?" Shiro whispered, but gasped and had to bite his bottom lip to stop himself from moaning.

Dorian had pulled down Shiro's boxers and took the throbbing cock in his mouth. Shiro remembered the sensation from last time, and once again, he was amazed at how good Dorian was at this. His cock was licked as if it was the most delicious thing Dorian had ever tasted. When Shiro didn't think it could feel any better, Dorian carefully inserted a finger into his hole.

"Holy fuck," Shiro moaned and tugged at Dorian's hair.

After that, it didn't take long before Shiro came, filling up Dorian's mouth. The alpha swallowed it all and grinned toward the panting omega.

"Just going to the bathroom," Dorian excused himself and quickly left the room.

Shiro couldn't even move, he was completely drained of all strength. It didn't take long before he was overcome by sleep, and the last thing he remembered was feeling so incredibly satisfied.

When Dorian returned, he stopped by the door, and with a smile, Dorian looked at his sleeping omega. Shiro had fallen asleep with his boxers still down at his knees. He was such a cutie that Dorian couldn't help but beam, and if anyone could see the man, would agree that Dorian was utterly lovestruck.

Dorian gently pulled up the sleeping man's underwear, and he lay down beside Shiro. Gently he kissed the man's cheek, which made the omega stir a little in his sleep, but he soon calmed down and continued to snore. Dorian smiled at the sight and put an arm around the man.

"Goodnight, Luv," Dorian whispered.

And fell asleep completely content.

***************************************************

In an apartment in Takashimadaira, Midori Ito sat by his computer, and for the third time in a row, he was reading the same article. He was fuming, his light brown eyes were burning with intense hatred and kept glaring at that blond asshole with that disgusting grin on his face. How dare he be so close to his Shiro Nakamura? On the pictures that some paparazzi had taken, Shiro was walking right beside the tall alpha. The alpha had his filthy arm around Shiro's waist, and he was grinning. Looking like a pervert.

Midori couldn't first believe his eyes. How was that possible? How could Shiro be with someone like him? And there on the blond man's other side was another alpha, with nasty red hair. And two kids with the same ugly hair color. Midori was heartbroken. His lovely Shiro, how could he surround himself with such disgusting people. Even Kei had been better than this vile man. The article said that it seemed as if Shiro had been accepted as Dorian McCallister's fated pair. Several reports had seen the alpha and the omega together several days in a row. And now they were spotted while eating out with the whole family. But that couldn't be! Midori didn't believe it, no, somebody was forcing Shiro. He would never do that to him. Shiro Nakamura wasn't this heartless.

Midori was certain that Shiro also knew that his true fated pair was him. Nobody else. Midori didn't care what other people said, what that fucking therapist said, that two omegas never could be fated. That two omegas couldn't bond. It was all lies.

He had to save Shiro. He had to bring him back here, to him. There was no other than him that could do it. Only he, Midori Ito. Shiro Nakamura's true mate.
