Chapter 5 - Shiro's bad morning

Shiro woke up, and he thought that he had never felt as sick as now. His head throbbed, his body felt hot, and it felt like he would throw up any second. Shiro lay in his bed, and Deion sat on a chair next to him. When the manager noticed that Shiro had woken up, he got up and went over to the bed. His dark eyes were full of worry.

"How are you, Shiro?"

The twenty-eight-year-old man sat up; he was tired. He held his hand to his head and whispered with a sore throat.

"Headache."

Deion quickly ran to the bathroom, poured water into a glass, and gave it to Shiro and some painkillers. Shiro swallowed the pills with the water and closed his eyes, his back against the fluffy pillows.

"What the hell happened yesterday?" he murmured.

"You went into your heat. I've never seen anything like it. Your pheromones were crazy strong, like out of control, and it made a Prime Alpha react. Damn, I have only heard about reactions like that, but that was insane!" Deion said with his strong Detroit accent.

Shiro jerked. A Prime Alpha! That tall man with a big smile. Shiro remembered him.

"Shiro, listen to me now, and please don't freak out. A doctor was there and examined both of you after you passed out from the suppressants the guards gave you. That guy is your fated pair."

Shiro just stared at his manager, shocked.

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"I know, it's fucked up, but that's why your heat started, and he went into a rut. Do you understand what this means?"

"So what? That doesn't mean shit. I'm not interested in some fated pair."

Deion looked really sad, shook his head, and retrieved his cell phone. Shiro, annoyed, observed while the older man did something until Deion handed over his cell phone. While Shiro began to read with growing terror, Deion talked.

"Several newspapers have written similar articles, both English and Asian. My phone has been ringing non-stop since the first article was published."

Shiro stared at the cell phone, his heart pounding with panic. There was a picture of himself and one with the alpha, whom, according to the article, was called Dorian McCallister. Apparently, he was the CEO of one of Europe's fastest-growing record labels and came from one of England's wealthiest families. The article addressed the incident and how the alpha's androstenone even affected people outside the club.

"Yes, and so what? What does it matter if we are a fated pair? Why do they write an article about something like that? This is ridiculous!"

Shiro handed over the cell phone to his manager. He didn't want to read anymore. This was clearly exaggerated. But Deion stared at Shiro as if he thought the black-haired man was out of his mind.

"You know how rarely fated pairs come, and you are also two famous people. And he is already married and has two kids! This is pure gold for every news site and celebrity blogger."

What Deion just had said made Shiro jolt. The alpha was married! How could he be married? That wasn't right! A feeling of jealousy struck, which surprised him and which the long-haired man immediately tried to ignore.

"Well, there you go! I have no interest whatsoever in destroying anyone's family. I will never see him again, and that's enough about this."

"You really don't know who Dorian McCallister is?"

Shiro shook his head.

"You know I don't pay attention to things that don't concern me."

"But this is something you can't ignore, and you have to care about this, Shiro. McCallister is the CEO of Blue Haven Records, and those were the ones who bought K-records. You have your contract with them now!"

"What! No!" exclaimed Shiro, full of dread. "We have to cancel it immediately."

"We cant! We have signed a contract for at least three albums and two tours. There's no way we have the money to pay if you breach the contract."

"Kuso!" Shiro screamed and threw himself back in the bed, hands over his eyes.

"I know Shiro, this is the last thing you need, and I know you're not interested in a partner after Kei, but we have to take care of this."

Shiro just shook his head. He had no desire at all to take care of anything. He just wanted to forget. Shiro heard Deion sigh and get up.

"I'll get you something to eat. You just take it easy, shower, and try not to think about what happened. Call Ikumi, too, she'll probably miss you. We'll talk about this later."

Shiro heard as Deion left the room, and when the door closed, Shiro removed his hands from his face, and he opened his dark brown eyes.

This was hell! What had he done to deserve this? Of course, he knew everything about fated pairs and how unique it was. Every omega's dream was to meet the mate who was determined by destiny, someone who could take care of them, then life would be perfect.

But Shiro had never cared about that. He had his Kei and Ikumi. It had never mattered that Kei wasn't his fated pair, they had been happy anyway. Even after his husband had died, Shiro couldn't imagine living with anyone else. He was prepared to die alone, and he was okay with that.

But somewhere deep within him, the omega felt a longing for that alpha, Dorian McCallister, as he was called. Shiro felt the heat was lingering. It was like an itch he couldn't reach. The suppressants hadn't made the heat go away, it just kept it in check. There was really only one thing that could take away the lingering feeling of lust, and it was an alpha. Had Shiro been home in Japan, he would have called one of his temporary partners, but now he had no choice but to make it go away by himself.

So, despite feeling sick, Shiro got out of bed, went to his bag with the most private things, and picked up a black box. It was his 'emergency kit.' He took the box and put it on the bed. He gently opened it, and when he felt that familiar scent from Kei, his heart flipped a beat. The warm, spicy scent was still there after two years, and Shiro was delighted. He picked up a black shirt and hid his face in it, inhaling deeply. A wave of pleasure passed through his body. The black-haired man immediately felt that he had an erection, and it was becoming moist between his legs from the slick. He picked up a special toy for omegas to play with during heat and a bottle of lubricant. With his hands full, he lay down in bed, and with Kei's shirt right next to his face, he pleased himself until the remaining feeling of lust had ebbed out.

Exhausted and feeling quite depressed, Shiro cleaned up after him and put his precious things back in the box. Afterward, he went to the bathroom where he quickly showered, and when Shiro was done, wearing a bathrobe, he lay down in the King size bed and called Ikumi on his phone.

"Dad?" A little girl answered in Japanese, sounding excited, and Shiro immediately felt some of his negative feelings almost melting away.

"Ikumi, my darling, how are you? Daddy misses you so much."

"I miss you too, Daddy. When will you come home?"

The ten-year-old girl's words made Shiro's heart ache and closed his eyes.

"I know, baby, but something happened over here, so I don't know when I'm able to come home yet."

"Is it about that man, Daddy?? The one that's supposed to be your fated pair?"

Shiro froze.

"Huh? Where did you hear about that?"

"It's all over the news, and reporters have been here all day."

Damn, Deion hadn't exaggerated when he said the news had spread quickly.

"Even Uncle Hayate and his family are here and Aunt Makiko," the girl continued to talk, and Shiro could hear that she was worried.

When Shiro heard his brother's name, he immediately got angry and had to bite his tongue, not to swear out loud. Hayate was a fucking weasel. He worked as a collector for the yakuza, and all he cared about was money.

"Ikumi, what you saw on the news is nothing you need to worry about. Dad will solve everything. But, could you put your grandmother on the phone, please?"

"Okay, Daddy. I love you."

"I love you, and I'll call you again soon."

Shiro heard that Ikumi was calling for her grandmother.

"Shiro?" An old woman said on the other side of the phone.

"Yes, Mother, it's me. What's going on over there? Have reporters contacted you?"

"It's absolutely horrible over here. Your father had to call the police because the reporters refused to leave the yard. But Shiro, is this true? Have you meet your fated pair?" the older woman asked.

Shiro heard that his mother sounded excited, and he sighed, feeling irritated. He had a feeling that this was going to happen, his parents were very traditional, and even though they were not a fated pair themselves. They were convinced that everyone should submit to their nature and as omega, beta, and alpha, people had different roles in both the relationship and in society. Shiro's parents had never been supportive of Shiro in his career choice. An omega should first and foremost produce offspring, take care of the family, and take a job that only helped support the family. That's why Shiro had five siblings, and his mother only worked during the hours the children were at school.

"A doctor said so, but it doesn't matter. I am not interested in him, and he is already married and has children. We will solve this with the reporters, so don't worry."

"Nonsense Shiro! Don't you understand how unique and amazing this is? According to one newspaper, you two are the first reported fated pair in eleven years, and you are the first one who is close in age. The couple before you had sixty years of an age difference, and the alpha died before the omega even turned fifteen years old. A truly heartbreaking story, the poor omega later took his own life. This Dorian McCallister must take his responsibilities as alpha and leave the others. You are his family now."

Shiro couldn't believe what his mother had just said. He knew what strange ideas the woman could have, but this was absurd.

"Are you kidding me? So, you think he should leave his family, for a person he doesn't even know, just because of our pheromones match? I can't believe you!"

"Of course, he should! And if he doesn't want Ikumi, we can take care of her. A Prime-Alpha surely doesn't want to take care of the offspring of another alpha."

The anger nearly boiled within the twenty-eight-year-old man, he trembled and had difficulty with keeping himself from not throwing the phone in the wall.

"Never say that again, mother. Ikumi is my daughter, and as soon as I get home, I will never leave her again."

The mother sighed heavily.

"Sure, until your next tour. But Shiro, you must take care of this. A rich Prime Alpha as your mate is just what you and this family needs. Hayate told me that the alpha comes from a fine family, related to the royal family. That's really amazing! Don't you understand how lucky you are?"

Shiro didn't know what to say, but he wasn't surprised that bastard Hayate had been quick to check up on Dorian McCallister. His big brother, who was ten years older than him and probably already planned how he could use this to his own advantage.

Shiro didn't want to talk to his mother anymore, he just felt more depressed and angrier.

"I have to go now, but if more reporters trouble you, do not answer their questions. I will tell Deion that the agency should send someone to take care of this for you. But please, mother, do not say unnecessary things to Ikumi."

His mother sighed like she was annoyed, but promised that she would avoid talking to her granddaughter about it. They said goodbye, and when Shiro left the phone, he was completely drained. This was really hell!

Deion came into the hotel room shortly after and looked at Shiro, who was still in bed but with damp hair and in a bathrobe.

"Get dressed Shiro, in an hour we have to go to Blue Haven Records."

Shiro stared at Deion in horror.

"No way!"

"They've called in an emergency meeting. It's just as good that we address this right before it gets too big, and we lose control of it."

"Fuck!" Shiro exclaimed.

He really didn't want to. He just wanted to hide under the blanket and sleep until this nightmare was over.

Deion sat on the bed next to Shiro and tenderly patted the younger man on the head.

"I know Shiro, this is crap, but it is what it is, and I'm here for you."

Shiro leaned his head against the taller man's shoulder and closed his eyes.

"Mom said I should bet on this man and that they could take care of Ikumi because a Prime-Alpha doesn't want to take care of another alpha's child."

Deion knew that Shiro's family was exceptional, he had heard some weird stuff from Shiro during these ten years he had been Shiro's agent. But this probably took the price. Deion just shook his head.

"Don't you listen to them, Shiro. If you don't want this alpha, we will find a way to solve this. Okay?"

"Okay," Shiro answered, but he strongly doubted it would be so easy.

Shiro put on clothes, dark grey suit pants, and a white shirt. His black hair that went to his shoulders hang freely, and with his heart beating wildly in his chest out of worry and nervousness, Shiro and his manager left the hotel room.
