Getting into Kaisei Academy is very hard. It's a very high-profile school that only allows a select few to enter every year. Even though they accept up to 75 students every year, they only allow 10 or 20 normal students to get enrolled in the academy, and by normal I mean me. a student who is not coming from a noble family...
"HEY, YOU, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RUN IN THE HALLWAY..."
a big muscular man yells out.
"I... I am sorry, I am running late to the acceptance speech."
"WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"
"A... Asu.. Asuka,"
she replied in a shaky voice. She was very scared, but no one knew why. She was in a rush to watch an acceptance speech that no one even bothers checking out. She seemed very suspicious and out of place. The teacher that scolded her for running in the hallway felt a sense of guilt for yelling at her. She was on the verge of tears already.
"OK, you can go but make sure that I don't see you running in the hallways again."
"then... Thank you."
she looked at him again, and immediately turned around and hurried to watch the acceptance speech.
When she finally arrived at the acceptance speech, she realized that she was too late. Everyone had already left the venue to find their new classes. There was one person that she thought she had recognized.
He seemed like a calm person. But he gave off a sense of danger. He was sitting in an empty venue by himself, and he did not seem bothered by the fact that he was the only person sitting there, just staring at an empty stage.
But, despite all of that, Asuka felt a sense of warmth looking at that man. She knew that she had seen him somewhere before. Asuka was deep in her thoughts that she did not realize that he was standing right in front of her.
He was a couple of steps away from her. She could not help but let out a little scream.
"Aaagh!!"
she tries to back out but trips over the steps and falls on her back.
Suddenly, she looks up and sees that man trying to give her a hand, with a nice smile on his face. it was a smile that she had seen before but could not remember where nor when it was.
"are you okay?"
"Sorry, I must have scared you away. I didn't mean to. I was thinking about something and didn't realize that everyone had already left haha."
Asuka was at a loss for words. She was blown away by how nice he was, and she was annoyed that she could not remember who he was. Still, that did not stop her from taking his hand to get herself back up again.
"thank you... and, it is not your fault, I just scared myself. It's a habit of mine."
she seemed a lot more confident in talking to this random person who was a stranger to her.
"did you get accepted as well?"
"ah, yes. Yeah, I did."
"that is great. Hopefully, I will end up in the same class as you..."
Asuka was confused, she did not know what his intentions were. She did not know whether he knew who she was. She did not know what to say. He immediately left the venue leaving her all alone in that place. She could not help but feel like something is wrong.
She needed to make sure that her cover was not blown. She knew that the only way to save her father was to get closer to the noble kids all over that school. She knew that she needed to get stronger as well.
But, before all of that. She knew that something was wrong when she arrived to her class. There was a beat-up student with blood all over his face. Students checking upon him. And one more student sitting in the corner of the class in a two people's seat, he was smiling and waving his hand at her, while pointing with the other hand at the seat next to him.
It was the second time that she had thought that she recognized him.
"We are sitting beside each other, lucky me!!"
is what she heard him say.
