It was a rainy day in Tokyo. The elections for the next royal family reached it's last moments, and the winner was going to be the Kozaki family.
Elections happen once every ten years, the next royal family gets picked from the five noble families at the time. The Kozaki family was the strongest and the most loved out of the bunch. It was led by a great leader that wanted nothing more than the happiness of the people. And he was chosen for that very same reason, but there was people that didn't want him to be the next king. It was not anything personal, but the Fukusaburu family which was one of the noble families at the time wanted to become the ruling family, they didn't care how they are going to get there, and they definitely didn't.
The head of the Fukusaburu family planned a rebellion against the Kozaki family and they managed to assassinate many of them including the wife of the head of the Kozaki family at that time.
fifty years have passed since that great war took place, and Watanabe Kozaki is now the head of the family. Set on taking revenge for his mother, he came up with the plan to destroy the Fukusaburu family.
The king Araki Fukusaburu had passed away because of a bad illness that he was suffering from. And during his years of being the king, he was able to change the rules of the elections and he managed to make it that even if the ten years are up, the royal status wouldn't be lost from the family and that he would keep going as a king until he can no longer afford to be the king. The king had seven kids, and the next king would be picked out by a process of elimination. He didn't care whether his kids killed each other or not, as long as his family kept it's status as the ruling family.
Watanabe took that succession war and turned it into an opportunity to take down all of the candidates and restore the elections and more importantly, he wanted to restore the lost status of the Kozaki family.
This story follows Hirako Kozaki, the 4th son of Watanabe Kozaki. He is not very involved with his father's plan. And while he is not as invested as his dad is, he still follows the missions that are given to him regardless of the main objective of said missions.
Hirako would stop at nothing to achieve his missions. especially when it involves his childhood friend and his love interest....
