Chapter 4 - Locked Up

Roxie slowly opened her eyes. Her body still felt tired. It generates a desire for her to sleep again. But she was trying to overcome it to regain her consciousness.

Slightly semi-conscious, she raised her head and looked around the room with her eyes half-closed, not familiar with any of these places. As the room was poorly lit, but she managed to see something there. Like a lot of old furniture surrounding the room, which they weren't even worth using anymore. There was only one light shining in the room and it was right above her.

Not a single window was visible, as the pieces of furniture had shielded all the walls. By not looking outside, she couldn't tell the time, and her cellphone was out of reach. She forgot where she had put it.

'Where is this?' she thought, feeling her hands tied by the rope behind the chair. Her legs were also strapped underneath, each tied to the chair leg.

She was placed in the middle of the room, where the surroundings were silent, only the darkness engulfed her.

"Is this the school's warehouse?" she guessed, scanning everything, paying attention to every corner of the room. She must be right because this place had outdated-school sports items.

"How long have I been unconscious? Mom must have been very worried. Where's my cell phone? I need to call her," she said, attempt to detect her cell phone by sensing anything solid through the surface of her shirt.

Fortunately, when she shifted her body a little, her left side felt a little heavy. She realized that she had been putting it inside her blazer pouch.

'Oh, right! I forgot I put my phone there!' she thought happily as she chortled. Then she thought hard on how to take her cellphone.

She was about to find a way to release her hand first so she could retrieve it but stopped when she heard the door unlocked in front of her. Bright orange light from outside slipped into the room when the door swung opened. Illuminating the entire gloomy room and made Roxie have to squint her eyes because of the bright light. Apparently, it was late in the afternoon. The school had been dissolved.

Then, she observed those three perpetrators who seized her, standing at the door. She stared at them coldly, as she was no longer surprised. She knew it was them.

There were three girls. The first one on the left was a girl with red hair, pale skin, freckled face, and hazel eyes. It was Eris, she was the one who gave her the anesthetic. Then, the second one on Eris' right, was a girl with golden curly hair, olive skin, muscular build and amber eyes, named Tina, whose body built is very strong due to frequent workouts. But it only made her looked even more terrifying with her muscles poking out like a WWE boxer. Doesn't she seem far off from feminine?

That was why her grip on Roxie's arms was so powerful, Roxie couldn't fight back while her hand was being held by Tina. For a girl, her strength is undeniable.

Then finally, the last girl in the middle, whom Roxie hated a lot. 'I hate the three of them to be exact'. It was she who ordered her followers to carry out this dirty act.

With long brown hair and an orange ombre at the ends of her hair, then her pearly grey eyes, made her look a little c-

'Ugh, cut the crap. No!'

That was Courtney McKnight. If only her attitude was similar to her looks maybe she could be the most liked person at school. But unfortunately, expectations don't go well with reality.

"So you drugged me, kidnapped me, tied me to a chair, then for what?" Roxie asked, raising one eyebrow.

There was only one big reason for Courtney to do this. Roxie had to sigh deeply at the thought of how narrow Courtney's mind is. Everybody was aware of that, too.

"Oh great! You're awake," said Courtney, clapping happily as she walked towards Roxie. Her friends closed the door and then followed their master from behind.

After hearing her high-pitched voice, Roxie's consciousness immediately recovered by itself. She could see everything clearly now.

"Drop the act, what do you want?" said Roxie with her eyes fixed on Courtney who was standing while crossing her hands right in front of Roxie.

Courtney grin like a Cheshire cat then said, "You know what I want, Roxanne or Roxi-Anna."

Roxie rolled her eyes, frustrated at Courtney as she said this, "The name's Roxie."

"I don't care," Courtney shrugged.

She scoffed at her, "Remember when I asked for your opinion?"

This got Courtney thinking and she gave Roxie a perplexed look then said, "Uh, no."

"Well, yeah, me neither," Roxie said, with a bored look etched on her face.

Feeling stupid, Courtney was mad at Roxie, "Enough with your stupid comment, you ugly loser. I'm talking here,"

Roxie pretended to gasp, "Me? Ugly? Wow, bless your heart, kid."

"Shut up, you rude b*tch that no one likes at school." She raised a finger at Roxie.

"Aww, I tried my hardest to see it from your point of view, but I couldn't force my head to see it from your dirty *ss."

"Son of a b*tch!"

"Oh, honey, here's a tissue, there's dirt on your lips."

At our remarks, her friends were secretly laughing behind her back. Tina continued to burst out laughing. At the same time, Eris was holding her mouth with both hands to prevent laughter from escaping from her mouth.

Courtney was furious. Red appeared on her face and ears. She immediately stared at her 'BFFs' with a murderous look.

As soon as they saw the look on Courtney's face, Tina and Eris stopped their laughter immediately.

"You two!!" she pointed at them.

As Courtney's anger exploded like wildfire, they began to sweat profusely.

"Shut. Up," Courtney said as she pressed every word slowly and calmly. But on the inside, she was extremely mad. Her friends trembled when they saw her face.

"Y-y-yes, ma'am," they both stuttered, then took a straight position together.

Roxie snickered at their behavior internally.

'Look at these three kittens!' Roxie thought as she tried to seal her mouth shut from laughing.

Then Courtney turned her attention back to Roxie.

"Oh, and you too Roxi-Anna ..."

This has put an end to Roxie's laugh.
