Azriel didn't say anything. Then sighed with relief.
"She should be. Many knew how abusive that person was. He didn't know how to keep up a relationship."

"How are the preparations for the Knights ceremony?"
"They are proceeding smoothly."
Sloane wasn't the type to slack off. Even if she hated any kind of work, she would do it vigilantly.
"...I see. Then let's call it a night."
Azriel got up to leave.
Both father and daughter didn't have anything more to say.
But both were disappointed because they could not bring themselves to spend more time with each other.
She shrugged to shake the feeling off.

The next day Sloane went to the training grounds.
The knights were going with their usual morning practice.
Lucas stood at one side observing the sparring between them. The most vigilant among them were Elyas and Jack.
Her training with Jack paid off. She was proud of him.
"Good morning Milady," Lucas called out drawing the attention of the rest of the troops.
"It's our lady." They started talking to each other.
"Good morning milady." They all greeted her warmly.
"Good morning." She replied smiling.
—"No matter which life it is, but this is where I feel at ease."
"Alright, you lazy bums. Quit slacking. You've got a lot on your course. Start with a hundred pushups, a hundred rounds around the training grounds."
"Eeehhhh" All started to complain.
"Two hundred. Complain about it and I shall double it. There is much more to do. I won't let you off the hook. The Knights ceremony is around the corner. You represent the country and House Nirvana. Now get going."
The rest had no choice but to listen to the demonic commander.
"Go easy on them for once Sir Lucas."Sloane sympathized with the poor knights.
Sloane could see Jack doing his best. He didn't complain for a moment and carried on without hesitation.
" That youngen you brought is quite something."Lucas grinned.
Sloane smirked. After all, he was selected with his efforts.
The majority were recruited. Their final stage was the knight's ceremony. Where they had had to prove their bravery and worth to be an Atlantan knight.
All royal knights were trained and recruited by House Nirvana.
Sloane's father was the Head General of the country's army. Due to which he had a tough job to take care of. Any consequences would lead to blame him. This is why the Atlantan army was destined to be perfect. They were so perfect to never have lost a war with the neighboring kingdoms.
Sloane joined them since she could not bring herself to rest when others worked so hard for the upcoming event.
