The weather had become much colder than before. Winter was closing in.
Sloane was ready to depart to her estate. It was a place where the Family of Nirvana originally resided. The first in a line of inheritance received this huge mansion and vast land around it. One-fourth quarter of the kingdom itself belonged to the family of warriors.
They had a great history even before the establishment of the kingdom. That was one of the reasons why they were feared throughout the country.
"Orion. You go-ahead. I will be riding Ebony, not the carriage."
He disappeared in a flash leaving her to ponder over it.
"Sister where are going?" Yulia came prancing.
"I uhh...I'm going to pay a visit to your new tutor."
—"Blast it! It couldn't have been lamer than this."
Sloane bit her lower lip. She looked at Jane signaling her through eye contact.
Jane nodded then tried her best to divert Yulia's attention.
Sloane rode out of the residence as fast as she could.
—"Good job Jane. I will surely repay you someday."
She arrived at the residence that was located farther on the outskirts of the capital.
There was no town around the area. But two small villages came in her way to the Nirvana residence. The land was fertile and there was a steep mountain range in the eastern Nirvana territory.
The sun was overhead. She stood before a building that was too big to be called a mansion. It was nearly the size of the Royal Palace of Atlanta.
The guards opened the huge gate through which her mare galloped with pride. The servants still kept the place spotlessly clean.
All of them were fond of the two sisters. They too grieved when the marchioness died. It was the place where she was holding up on her last breath.
"Milady!Welcome home. It's the Lady." Everyone gasped and crowded around her trying to catch a glimpse of the twelve-year-old girl.
The maid in charge of the mansion scolded them for being discourteous.
Sloane smirked.
Even if her residence stood amidst the coldest region of Atlanta, this was the warmest place for her.
"Lady Sloane. Please come in. It's cold outside."
Sloane agreed on with her maid and entered the mansion.
"How's our guest doing?" Sloane asked the elderly maid.
"She's doing quite well for now milady."She reassured her of the victim's health.
" But milady. That girl, she has similar blonde hair and silver-blue eyes like the crowned prince."She whispered.
Sloane stopped and looked at her. After a few seconds of silence, she replied.
"So you've noticed it as well. Madam Martha."
Martha was confused but nodded in agreement. She was her mother's maid who served her since she was born. She was one of the few people she trusted.
During her mother's last breath, Martha stayed at the marchioness' side.
The marquess feared that if Martha stayed at their current residence, it would make his daughters remember their deceased mother. He didn't fire her from the job but appointed her as the head maid of the main residence.
"We are here young miss." Martha opened the door. Orion guarded the doors in the hallway.
"Keep it up," Sloane whispered to him as she entered the room.
