I stood up from the seat and hugged him tightly.

"I better not suspect tears on your face. I heard the maids spent all morning getting you ready. It would be such a waste." Daddy commanded as he patted my head while I continued to hug him.

I stepped back, observing his attire. His hair was perfectly styled,

He wore his fitted royal black military attire, decorated with embroidery, gold lacing, countless medals, with two sashes that laid gently on across his shoulder and waist.

This man… When did he get here? His attire looks brand new… those are new boots! He doesn't even look like he has been to war or traveled a long way… what is going on?

"Your Majesty, your imperial cape. May we place it on with permission?" Two men bowed as they held daddy's thick imperial cape.

He nodded slightly, allowing the man to place the cape on him while the other placed his thick, gold chain on top of the royal mantle.

"Dressing up in this attire is the worst. Heavy ass chains, a thick, red cape in this kind of weather… who needs two sashes?! Why do I need fur on my cape? I am an emperor, not a caveman!" Daddy complained as the men adjusted his accessories.

"Give me that damn thing. Let's get this over with." He snatched the crown from inside the gold box.

"Leave us be. That is all for now." He ordered while placing the crown on his head.

"What is all the commotion for, you Majesty." Hansol crossed his arms, walking towards us.

"At least look in the mirror while placing the crown on your head." Hansol teased as he adjusted daddy's crown.

"It's a damn accessory. Who cares whether it is tilted or not." He mumbled.

"Tell the announcer to get on with it. Occasions like these bother me."

Hansol nodded and left.

This is all too much for me. Now daddy is here. If I mess up, he will definitely order to have me executed. How am I going to survive this? Having observant eyes on me at all times, waiting for me to make a mistake.

"It is normal to feel nervous on occasion like this one. However, keep in mind that you are my daughter. The second they decide to forget their place and so much as blink towards your direction, they will hang from the towers. The moment those insects inside that room make you doubt yourself in any way, tell me, and I will skin them alive in front of the whole room to see." Daddy looked down at me with a malicious expression. His eyes, crimson red. His tone got lower with every sentence he spoke.

I don't know if I should be flattered that he will kill someone because they looked at me funny or scared that he would take it that far. But I will take it as a compliment.

He closed his eyes and exhaled deeply.

"Forgive me... I should watch my tongue on a day like this… you look… beautiful today, Amara. This… belonged to your mother. It was her favorite hairpin from her home country." Daddy cleared his voice while extending his hand out in front of me.

A delicate ruby hairpin shaped like a butterfly.

I smiled, looking up at him. Then, I gave him another hug to show my gratitude.

"Thank you, daddy. I love it! Can I wear it?" I questioned, looking up at him.

"Well. It may not suit the color of your dress. But, if that is what you want. So be it. Your mother used to wear this damn thing every day. She wore it on the side, like this." Daddy explained as he placed the butterfly hairpin on the side of my hair.

"We would like to announce a special day. Today is not only the imperial princess's birthday but her recognition debut. His imperial Majesty- the emperor of Giodivonia, Xavier Acen De Giodivonia the l and Her Imperial Highness, the Imperial Princess of Giodivonia, Amara Luz De Giodivonia. May the moon, sun, and stars shine upon the Giodivonia empire!"

Daddy looked down at me, gently grabbing my hand.

"You did not think I would let you dishonor our family name so soon, hmm? Relax, as long as you do not let go of my hand, everything will go well." Daddy teased as we walked towards the open double doors.
