The rest of the classes went by quickly since that wolf boy never left my mind. He had one blue eye and one hazel eye. There is no possible way a kid that young is a knight. Also, to become a knight for an empire, it takes many years of brutal training and exams. If he can turn into a wolf, he must be of the royal bloodline. Could he be one of the twin boys? Wait. Professor Luca said the twin boys were born seven or eight years ago! That boy told me he was seven! So that means… that boy is the prince of Konig?! But how? Most importantly, what was he doing in the woods?!
Before I knew it, I was sitting down, eating dinner with the trashman. I did not have much of an appetite, though. I was far too busy trying to remember the night in the woods. What was he wearing? If he is of the royal bloodline, he would have fancy clothes like the ones this trashman wears. Wait, he had a cloak on! Similar to the one I was wearing. It was too dark, and I was too nervous about being caught that I did not think about it.
"Amara." A deep voice crept into my ear.
I looked up at the trashman and smiled.
"Yes, daddy?"
"You have yet to touch your food. Your professor and etiquette teacher also told me that you made little effort today in classes. You made a poor attempt to answer questions in both Mathematics and Science class and made many mistakes in today's etiquette lesson. Mind explaining what is going on today? It is not like you to be in such a state during classes. I thought you liked your classes?"The trashman questioned.
"Daddy, what do you know about Konig people?" I questioned without much thought.
I could hear the deadly silence in the air. The maids and butlers that faced the wall flinched in response. The trash man's facial appearance went from neutral to serious in seconds. He placed his knife and fork down while looking at me in such a scary expression. His eye color turned into a pitch black.
"Why… Do you bring that name into our respected imperial palace and country?" he questioned in a low yet scary tone.
Damn. I hope my lie is realistic enough. I do not want to get professor Luca in trouble. That is the last thing I want. At times like this, All I can do is kiss his ass and boost his ego. Seems like he gets in a better mood when I flatter him.
"I… I found a map of Giodivonia in the textbook. Below it was the name 'Konig.' I… I asked professor Luca about it, and he said that we should not talk about that country, as it is forbidden. So I wanted to ask you, daddy. Everyone always tells me how intelligent and knowledgeable you are with everything you do. I am sorry. I will not talk about this topic again." I responded with fear.
I can see his facial reaction slowly change. He closed his eyes and sighed.
"Do not worry yourself with that name. Your professor is right. That name is forbidden, and since they are unfortunately part of this world, we cannot exclude their country from the map. So, unfortunately, they are presented on all of our maps and educational textbooks. All you have to know is that they are backstabbing creatures that harmed our people many years ago. They are never to be trusted. They are to be killed on the spot if one is to ever step onto our soil." He explained.
"Daddy, the woods are counted for as a border between both countries, right? I thought we had a physical border between both countries. Is it not easy just to cross the border since it is woods that block between us?" I questioned.
That boy quickly came into the middle of the woods, just as easy as I was able to as well. Unless that boy jumped borders.
"We have over 50 feet of height stone walls, blocking our land from theirs in the middle of the woods. We also have our imperial mages block them from entering onto outside by mana magic. Do not fret. They are barbaric and uneducated. But not that stupid to cross over the border unless they all want to die. I would be glad to take over their land if they dare cross me." He replied with confidence.
I see. 50-foot wall borders with mana magic. But how was he able to cross it? Did he dig? Dogs are good at digging. But magic? How did he break it?
"Stop thinking about nonsense and eat." He demanded as he began to eat once again.
I nodded and began eating.
Hours flew by, and was soon night. I was already lying on the imperial bed, waiting for the trashman to come out of the bathroom from his bath. As I stared at the moral ceiling, I wondered if he ever had a night where he was able to look at the sky peacefully.
"Have you had your milk yet?" A familiar voice said.
vOh! Yes. It was yummy! I really like the milk with honey that you suggested, daddy. Thank you." I said with joy.
He cracked a smile as he made his way to the living room section. He sat on the lounge chair by the fireplace and opened a book. I've noticed for a couple of days now that he has not been drinking wine. Instead, he drinks tea. If I remember correctly, all he used to do was drink wine as if it were water. What made him drop his alcoholic ways all of a sudden?
"By the way, Marina and the other maids are coming back next week. They will be your private maids." He said as he read his book.
I smiled and sighed in relief.
"Daddy, can we watch the stars outside? It was a brisk afternoon when I played in the imperial garden. It must be a good time to watch the stars!" I suggested as I looked at him read his book.
He looked up at me and looked outside the window. For a brief moment, the room was utterly silent. It was as if he was thinking about it deeply. I tilted my head in confusion and got out of bed. I walked up to him and touched his hand. It was as if he froze looking at the window.
"Daddy?" I questioned as I continued to touch his hand.
He gently flinched and looked down at me.
"You may catch a cold if it rains…" He said in concern.
I giggled out of reaction. I smiled at him and looked outside the window.
"When you are with me, the weather is always nice. Remember? Can we go? Please?" I begged.
He closed his eyes and sighed lightly.
"I suppose I cannot refuse. Fine. Only for a brief moment." He said as he closed his book and got up from this lounge chair.
