Once they arrived in town, Akaya was overjoyed. She was delighted to see other people, except that she was no longer a human being.
She was, however, content. The immense desert and the dryness of the environment had bored her to where, if there was such a thing as desert sickness, she had been suffering from it.
"There isn't such a thing." Lucky made a comment.
"What's to stop you? Why not desert sick? There's homesickness and seasickness, so why not desert sickness?" Akaya inquired, turning to face Lucky, who was giving her the side eye.
"Because it's not there!" Lucky's response was simple.
"Oh, starting today, I'll disclose its existence." While Lucky placed his marauder in the first car wash he found in town, she announced.
"Can you tell me how much this costs?" He inquired after rolling down the window and being approached by one of the guys workers.
