Lucky held the old scroll in his hand as he read through it. He was seated outside the mansion, his back leaning against the large tree as he read.
He could feel the magic in the scroll he held, course through his veins up to his mind. The scroll he had was an ancient one that held information concerning one mythical being that had been held captive for the past five hundred years beneath a dormant volcano mountain.
He took a deep breathe as he shut his eyes for a minute before opening them again. Apparently, he was the only one in their pack who could read the scroll due to his druid powers. No one else could and reading the scroll was a bit too much to take it all in.
First things first, the Phoenixes who lived five hundred years ago were the ones that locked the mythical being up just because they couldn't kill it.
Secondly, A golden fiery red phoenix was only born after a thousand years not five hundred years like the rest.. and only a golden fiery red Phoenix could kill the mythical creature.. And right now, he was the host of the said Phoenix which wasn't active.. how could he be able to kill the mythical creature without his phoenix being active?.
He had to do something fast... but what could he do that he hadn't done in the past twelve years since his Phoenix slept within him without stirring?. He could hear from a far, smell things and produce fire balls as hot as he was supposed to but all these were just the magic he used and not his phoenix. His father Plutonic didn't know nor the pack and he intended to keep it that way. He wasn't like Rufus who easily gave up... he was Lucky and the word "Giving up" was never supposed to cross his mind.
He had to do something.
He needed to do something to revive the Phoenix in him even if it was just a little.
Thirdly, the mythical creature was in need of the star of salvation since it had wanted to take it five hundred years ago. Lucky knew that it still wanted the star and if the star fell in it's hands then chaos would plunge again in the world.
Lucky needed the star as well for Rufus' sake and at the same time, he needed to kill the mythical creature and prevent it from getting it's hands on the star.
Truly, he had a lot on his plate. He had a lot to solve and a lot of pressure but he would survive. He was going to be the next alpha and if he couldn't handle this little pressure then he didn't deserve the title.
Lucky sighed as he straightened up and stretched a little. He could hear Araminta, Rufus' sister crying from her room.
He couldn't blame her, her brother was no where to be found and she was missing him. He was missing Rufus as well... hell! everyone was missing him and his parents were out to look for him.
Therefore, in the whole mansion it was just him, his father and Araminta.
He was worried about Rufus and he wondered whether he had made it to the MW channel safely.. he wondered if Ambrose had managed to find Dzarma or if Rufus had managed to find the guy first. He had never personally met the guy but he opted he was a good person.
Lucky sighed again as he was about to walk back to the mansion. Holding the scroll together in one hand, a gentle wind brushed past him.
He stopped.
That was no normal wind. He knew it and he had felt it.
The wind brushed again and he could have sworn that he had heard something.
He wasn't crazy. He was so sure and after all, he was in a supernatural world and anything could happen.. Anything!.
He decided to wait and listen attentively in case the wind "spoke" again to him. It didn't and so as he was about to take another step forwards, came the wind and the voice soon after.
"Don't... the star.... safe ... own hands". He couldn't quite decipher if that was what he had heard exactly so, he decide to pay more attention.
But what the hell? Why was the "wind" speaking to him about the star?. And what was it about his hands?. He didn't understand.
He stood there trying to listen and wait for the wind but it never came. He was about to conclude that it was nothing, just him over thinking stuff because he was currently working on the star thing.
You know that moment when you're thinking about something so much so you either start seeing things or having dreams about it?. That's what Lucky thought it could have been.
He was so deep into thoughts that he didn't hear her approach him. She called out his name several times but he didn't react in any manner. So, Ambrose moved forward and slightly touched his shoulder causing him to flinch away as if her touch had hurt him.
He turned to look at her, his brows slightly furrowed at her as if in question of why she was there.
Ambrose raised a brow at him, "A-Are you okay?".
Lucky opened his mouth to speak but no audible words came out. Her brow raised further at him causing him to quickly shut his mouth up and clear his throat.
"Lucky....". She called him, her voice colored with concern but he quickly interrupted her when he spoke up making sure he didn't stutter in any way.
"I'm fine Ambrose".
"Are you sure? 'Cause you look.... troubled". She stated out the matter of the fact.
His brows relaxed a little as he looked at her, she had changed her clothes and her hair was held up in a bun.
"I was just deep into thoughts nothing serious". He responded.
How he was always confident and so sure of himself... she would never know. At times she was always tempted to ask what his secret was but she just kept it to herself, perhaps, it was because he was the golden fiery red Phoenix. That should've explained it all, right?.
He raised a brow at her, "You're lost in thoughts too?". He asked knowing too well that she was thinking about him. Of late, her thoughts were very loud and he couldn't help but read them out.
She gave out a small smile, "I'm fine".
"What did you find out?".
"Dzarma is indeed a good person. He promised to help him out. They'll be leaving for another town in three days time". Ambrose explained.
"Three days?". Lucky echoed. She nodded in accordance.
Why was everything taking place in three days time?. He had to take the star, kill the mythical creature plus follow up where Rufus was going in that same day.
"Dzarma didn't state which town he'd take him to. He just listened to Rufus' lime of problems... tried to convince him to come back to you guys but he wouldn't budge". Ambrose explained.
"I don't want him to leave. Is he staying with Dzarma?". Lucky questioned which he received a firm "yes" from her.
How could Rufus leave when he was here busy trying to figure out a way for him to survive and not feel left out?. He had to make sure that Rufus didn't leave until he got the star and gifted it to him.
But for now, Rufus was not supposed to leave no matter what on that day.
"I thought you said you were going to give him the chance to get away if that was what he wanted!". Ambrose said in confusion.
"That was then, not now". Lucky blutered out. "Now is different. I don't want him to leave".
"Then, I'll do my best to know which town they'll be going to". Ambrose promised as they took a few steps towards the mansion.
"Keep an eye on him please. There's something I must handle first and it's of great importance". Lucky gave a brief explanation to which Ambrose gave a nod.
"I understand and I'll keep an eye on him also updating you on everything". She promised to which he nodded slightly before walking further towards the mansion with her following him behind closely.
"I'll go talk to Araminta and console her as well". Ambrose proposed but Lucky said nothing to her not even sparing her a glance.
"Do you need anything?". She asked but he shook his head before jogging his way upstairs to his floor.
Ambrose shook her head slightly not quite believing how Lucky's attitude could change from one to another just in a flash by of minutes.
Truly, the boy was amiable but very hard to read. She wondered again what was so important that he had to deal with but yet again, it was none of her business what he did.
Her thoughts were jogged off as she heard the sobs of Araminta who was in the play room. She sighed to herself as she walked towards the room to console the little girl who was like a small sister to her.
