The event soon came to a close. Everyone was so full of life and energy.
I could only imagine attending things like this more often. I could get used to this job.
Too bad I only have it for today. It's quite misfortune that I had to cross paths with that she devil.
I neatly packed all the equipment that they had provided.
"The pictures." Hank politely asked.
"Here." I said handing him the camera.
"These are quite good." He said smiling, but his smile quickly turned into a frown as he moved along.
Holy chicken gravy, what did I do now.
"You took photographs of everyone performing?"
"Yes?"
"Oh, I see your mistake. You were expected to take photos of Shawn exclusively."
"Like, a private photographer?"
"Mhmm. But these are good nonetheless. Do you have any use of them?"
"Yes. I'll take those." I said taking the camera and heading off for the door.
"Mrs Chesterfield?"
"Yes?"
"Your pay."
Oh yeah.
"Get into that office and Ms Salem will assist you."
I open up the door with uncertainty though still greatful that I'll be getting my pay.
"Pictures." Malificent ordered before I even got fully into the tiny office.
I hand over my camera over to her and she scrolls over them.
She looks thoroughly through them them gave me a faint smile.
"Good." She says and hands me a cheque.
Not just any cheque. A huge cheque.
"I guess I'll be seeing you soon, Ms Chesterfield."
"Thank you ma'am." I smiled and exited the room with a great goofy grin on my face. Holding the cheque on my chest, close to my heart.
Soon.
Puzzled by her earlier statement she had left me with I then opened the door again and stuck my head into the room.
"When you mean soon, you mean, I get the job?"
"Yes." She said giving a tiny smile, probably because of my childlike behavior. "I guess this means I'll be seeing you again."

The very next day, an email was sent informing me the address I should be at.
I felt guilty having two jobs at the same time.
Yes, I didn't quit working for Mr Parson.
Although I did feel awesome that I had two full time jobs and I wasn't working myself to death. I gave Mr Parson the pictures I took during that event and he was pretty pleased.
I arrived at the instructed building and was directed to an office.
The first thing I noticed was the three figures sitting comfortably in the office.
Shawn, who seemed to be concentrated on his phone. Hank and the very much loved by me - Malificent.
The other thing I noticed was the way the colours contrasts the office amicably. Only three colours were dominant.
Grey, white and glass.
Wait - glass is not a colour.
"Oh, Ms Chesterfield. You're here early." Me Salem said.
"I hope I'm not too early."
"Not at all. Have a sit."
Why was the chair so small?
"Now, lets get straight to business. We haven't really discuss your position in your employment. Well, we'll discuss it now. Your position is temporary."
Sweet Cheese. Why?
It can't be temporary. This could be the best paying job I've ever had.
"Then what is the duration of my emlpoyment?"
"Eight weeks. If you are willing to accept it." She said looking at Shawn with a slight look of irritation on her face. It was because of his typing.
The clicking sounds his phone made was beyond irritating. Not to mention the sound of all those notifications coming in.
To be honest, it was getting on my nerves too, big-time.
"We still haven't signed any legal documents. Hank?" She signaled to him to hand over the documents.
Hank dropped two documents in front of me.
"May I take a look at these." I questioned.
"Take your time." She smiled.
But after a few minutes. I could see that she did not want me to take my time. Her body language gave it away.
The speed at which her finger tapped away at the table.
The way she would roll her eyes every time I re-read a passage.
"I accept." I said as I signed the contract.
Why wouldn't I? Great pay and after I'm done, I'd probably found a job by then.
"Great."
"But can I ask a question?"
"Fire away."
"Why are you hiring me?"
"Well, Josiah went on leave. He decided to tour Africa. He's currently working on an album of African wildlife and culture."
Shawns typing became louder.
"And Sam broke his arm helping someone move the speake-- Shawn!"
He looked up in shock then smiled innocently. "Sorry." He said lowering the volume. "Oh, Hi Clumsy." He said and looked down at his phone again.
"Sam broke his arm before the event. And besides, you are the closer, cheaper option."
Ouch
"No offense."
Offense taken.
"I understand."
"Okay, Ms Chesterfield. I think were done here. I'll see you on Monday."
"What's happening on Monday?"
"We're going to L.A"
"L.A?"
"Yes. It was all in the contract. Oh, don't tell me that you can't read."
I don't know how I missed that.
"Of...of course I can. I just wanted to know if I'll be provided with housing?"
"Of course. What do you take me for? A villain?"
Only if you knew...
