Chapter 27 - Treasure's Exposed

morning.

The Treasurer decides it time for a residential patrol before the day of the meeting. Half the guards are sent throughout the middle class area to search for unwanted guests of the underground. Once they were outside, one of them sees the flag pole and sees the lingerie flowing graciously in the breeze. He suddenly bursts into laugher for he knew who's it was. The other turn to see what he was laughing at so hard and they soon follow suit.

Soon after, the whole town was up to see what was up and the laughing turned into roars as the crowd grew larger.

Inside the servants look down from the center tower to see the lingerie on the flag. They were far too shocked to do anything for this amazing display. Basell was walking with the treasurer at the same time on a lower level. The shadow of the lingerie catches his attention from the large window and stopping him dead in his tracks. It wasn't exactly what he planned but it was effective nonetheless. The Treasurer smacks him for his attention then soon after sees what he sees. She runs to the window and sees it unharmed. But the laugher is what hit her the worst. She screams at the top of her lungs and passes out. The patrol had been called off for the next meeting.

Back at the black market.

(Roaring laughter)

Oh god! My sides!! Aah! Ahahah! It hurts but I can't stop! That was priceless, red!

Everyone was dying of laughter.

It's all over the place!! There is no way that bitch is showing up for anything anywhere for a few days! The flag pole instead of the execution stand. Yeah that's hell of a lot funnier. Not as disgraceful, but funny! Hahaha!

Gen: hope the boy doesn't mind. I wasn't going to put it next to the head of a failed guard.

Pfft! Yeah, that be too cruel.

The laughs continue.

Inside the center wall, Basell and the others were sent home for the rest of the day. One of them goes to speak to him and they head for the black market. The other servants were there waiting for him. They go to the far end of town that over looked the canyon.

Boy, to be honest I had thought the request failed. But it really happened.

Yeah. Holy shit. I thought I was gonna shit my pants when she was screaming at us last night.

So he took the payment you offered?

Basell: Well, N-no. Not exactly. Thing is,.... That whole thing was my idea.

Huh?!

Whoa!!

Say what?! You can't be serious?!

Basell: w-well it was either that or no deal. I didn't have enough to get him to do it all on his own. So I had to come up with something on the spot, since I was pressed for time with my dad's medication.

Okay. But... you seriously told him to grab her things and hang it on the flag pole?

Basell: actually it was supposed to be on the execution stand just inside the middle class. I had thought it be a good idea to put the blame outside of the wall. But I guess the execution was a little much to deal with for that situation to him.

.... I guess. Well, either way it worked.

God I fell so much better after seeing that.

That was absolutely priceless. Hearing the whole town roaring in laughter. Who wouldn't, with all those people she screwed over. It'd be difficult to pinpoint who made him do it. Even some of the guards had a good laugh.

They must have known about her freakish hobby.

Well yay. She doesn't shut up about those things.

They talk and laugh together for the rest of the day and promise never to tell since they were all in on it, then head back to their homes.

Night.

Sicily sat on her bed polishing and sharpening her sword content and ready to hunt. She knows of the incident at the central tower. She was ready to rid the world of the cause.
