Daddy
Rosalynn saw me after, she took care of me like a mother hen would to it's chick. In her arms only did I felt absolutely at peace. She left during the night; back in the comfort of her home, to her boyfriend. As for the Koenig-Philedelphia heir... True to his words, he did make an effort in courting me. He stopped by the manor every chance (and by every chance, I meant everyday as he did before.) he gets, Taking me out on dates and even bought me a dog.
Yes, you've read that right. A two month-old siberian husky, who's the sweetest little dog I've ever met. And that saying a lot since I have met quite a large number of dogs in my twenty-one years of existence. Anarchy, as I named her, lived up to her name. Though she's quite the sweetheart, she's a whole chaotic mess. I often found myself cleaning up dog feces that she either left on the ground, or, somewhere as she pleases.
As for my father, I've yet to see him. I roamed all over the mansion. But, there's no sight of him. I haven't even heard of him from the maids... Like a bubble of air, he disappeared without a single trace. My cousin as well, only seeing him once or twice in a day rather than every minute as before. I had been meaning to question him but I always held my tongue whenever I'm near him. In a way, his outré disappearance provided me opulence and peace.
Days turned into weeks, It's now mid-July. The number of helps we had now decreased, until this very day. Back then, I couldn't even count the number of help in my hands. Now, only nine of them were left. Relief filled me as Cloira was still here. The articles of paper still hid under my bed, along with other evidences. Albeit Stavros opened up more, I couldn't help but keep them. For future use or whatsoever, my instincts tell me otherwise.
A wet nozzle pokes on my legs, sniffing them before a long wet tongue glides up to my knee. "Anarchy," I call out. She responds immediately with a bark. "Up?" I pat my lap.
The sun shone down on us like spotlight. Though it was scorching and sweat marred my forehead, Anarchy still pushed me to my limits. I played a game of fetch with her. The stick that I found on the grounds of the manor drops to my feet. Scratching behind her ear as a reward. She'd grew throughout a month. Still a small little pup, but she's now more active than ever.
"Good girl," I praise as I lift her her in my arms. "Do you think daddy's coming today?" I ask the dog. She tilts her tiny head to the side, sticking out her little red tongue.
I chuckle to myself.
Anarchy recognised Stavros as her 'fur' dad. He had called himself as that too. Ever since she fell asleep on his chest, he's hooked to the small black and white pup. I gather my hair into a loose bun, firmly locking my messy mane in place. Cloira prepared a tray of snacks for Anarchy and I. It took about a minute or two, before I decided on heading back to the manor.
As soon as I open the door, I'm greeted with five Dimitrious soldiers. Bulletproof armor and guns strapped to their chests. They stood Oh, hello." I said to the men.
They only acknowledge me with a single nod. Stilled like statues. I wonder what they're doing here, is there something wrong? Like our house-help, the syndicate subtracted in number of soldiers as well. According to Cloira, my father's been slacking. He left the mafia in a mess, Damocles had been mopping up for him. I went up the stairs. The house as quiet as a library.
Naturally, my thoughts wander to stuff such as: my boyfriend, Stavros Koenig. Is he coming today? I have not received another word from him aside from the words: good morning, my goddess. That's it. Howbeit, I'm not one to complain. I don't want to cling on him, I'm not like that. He's been gifting me butterflies every day, not letting one day past where he's not doing some romantic gesture.
The other day, a feast fit for a king was served on the dining table. It was all for me. Of course, I couldn't finish it all to myself. I invited the help and a few of the soldiers to dine with me.
Algid hands hover over my eyes, halting me from my steps. Hot breathe fanned my earlobe, sharp canines bite on the flesh of my ear. Anarchy whimpers slightly before barking at the intruder.
"Guess who?" the oh-so familiar baritone voice whispers in my ear. A grin stretched my lips.
Turning on my heel, the hands drop. My arms flung around his neck, locking him in my hold. His chuckles neared my hearing. Burying my face in the crook of his neck. I inhale his scent, bringing a sense of comfort to my wary mind. He pulls me up to his face, sealing me with a soft subtle kiss. We pull away, staring lovingly at his tired eyes. I bit my lip as the corners of his lips twinge upwards to a smile.
There was something about the way he smiled; the way butterflies seemed to escape from the pit of his stomach and the way the sun had somehow toppled down from the sky and made a home right there in his heart. He had the kind of smile that made you feel happy to be alive and just that little bit more human.
"Did you do anything today?" he took Anarchy from my arms as she kept on barking at him.
My vision casts down his gun holster. "Were you doing something before this?" I reverse the question to him.
"Yes, I was out doing shipments." he said cooly, opening the door to my room. "Did you miss daddy? You did didn't you, oh you cute little thing." he cooed at Anarchy who ran to my room after being praised.
