After dinner I first went to talor, checking on the mutant attack, only a few of them came, meaning I get to sleep early.
After I woke up, I again went for a walk and did some stretching, as I was used to do in military. While stretching I had got to think about the sparing, I had agreed but I knew I'll probably win. Most normal people aren't very strong compared to a military, and I'm apparently on the stronger side when it comes to even the military, so for someone who doesn't have a military family background, or isn't a military, he won't be able to do much, I could just hope that won't discourage him.
After I was done with my stretching and walking I went back to the main building, it was 6:00AM, Talor and Carl was already awake, but Angle was still asleep. We decided not to wake her yet, we all thought it might best to allow her to sleep till about 7:00AM.
After we decided that Carl asked me "hey about the sparing we talked about yesterday, we are gonna still do that right?"
I answered simply "Ohh yeah, we will", and I continued "by the way, do you know why military camps normally do not accept normal folks at military camps?"
Carl replied "Ohh yeah, I had tried applying for military camp, but they will always turn me down saying I need some recommendation. But I don't know the reason."
Talor chimed in with "I know that! Apparently during and after the modern dark age, which happened during the 2000's the government took new military from the same family, worldwide, apparently this was to reduce the number of casualties, when defending against the overly aggressive animals.
Due to this those families changed to have greater strength when compared to the normal population. Apparently they became so strong they had to increase the intensity of the training, eventually it became too hard for a normal person to survive the training thus making it mandatory that either they be from a military family or be recommended by a military. I learnt this during the end of my PHD."
Hearing this Carl exclaims "Why did you never tell me this?" Talor replied saying "It never came up in a conversation. Anyways, but that was never added to the normal curriculum, as apparently it's still a hypothesis, thus it was never added to the normal curriculum, although it was almost proven, and was planed to be added to the normal curriculum some time after 5 years, never ended up happening."
"Well yeah, but there's more to that than what you just describe" I started explaining. "Similar happened in case of scientists. The scientists forced their own children to carry on their research, it obviously didn't work for all of the families, but those who were able to carry their research through generation got smarter, much more than that of normal people. In time they also seemingly became something a little different than normal.
But there was another story, it says that one time a scientist had married a military, and their first child was much stronger when even compared to military and they were almost as smart as a scientists. And their second child had some trouble expressing themselves but they were very smart, much more than anyone else. And so it was officially made illegal for a military to marry a scientists, although that is very rare as is. All of military is taught this, this is so, they do not use their full strength against normal people, as that can be lethal. Although there still were some who didn't got the memo and had to be properly disciplined. Also due to the contribution of the military in keeping everyone safe, they are given preferential treatment, and are like modern day aristocrats, where as the scientists saw such a success in there field that they might as well be aristocrats.
And so humans as a species was divided into 3 groups. The military, scientist and normal people. Although it was much more common for normal people to become a scientist than it was for them to become military. And even I was only allowed in the military due to major's recommendation. This even though happened throughout the entire era, that is from 2040-2990 is still too first when compared to how slowly most species including humans evolved this far, well except for the change in aggression which seemed to happen over the duration of one day somehow, but that may not be the case, unlike the case with humans. And thus this still hasn't gotten the recognition to be a scientific theory."
After thinking a little Carl then says "So basically you are saying that I'm likely to lose when we spare?" I answered "yeah, I forgot to mention this last time."
"hmm..." Carl thinks to himself something, and then explains "Still, the spare will tell me my strength, specially compared to a military, so I'd still prefer to do it. I still have some techniques that might catch you off guard after all it's not like strength is everything!"
"Yeah" I answered relieved to see he wasn't disappointed but was motivated.
After that I noticed Angle was waking up. Looking at her I couldn't help but ask, "did you had an nightmare?" The question startles a little before nodding to answer me. I asked "were you having nightmares everyday?" She shook her head. "Hmm... Let me know if your nightmare comes too frequently, maybe I can hold your hand while you sleep, or tell you a lullaby, that might help with the nightmare.
"Lullaby? Can you?" Angle asks almost in an excited voice with an almost lit eyes. I answered "Alright then, I'll sing you a lullaby before you sleep every day." She nodded with a slight smile in her face. And cheerfully gets off the bed, going towards the dining room. I, Carl and Talor followed suit, happy to see her acting a little more like a child for once. She still seems to only talk to me, I really hoped she could talk a little more with the other two, she needs to have some fun or at the very least she needs to talk some more, that might help her to open up a little, become a little more emotion full.
