"Finally! Two days was way too much time for such an easy part of the golem. Well, since I'm done, I'm going to go check on Teo, I still don't know what happened to him after he decided to betray his group."
I started towards the golem workshop and planned to ask Professor James where Teo was. Luckily when I made it inside, I saw Teo building a golem in the corner.
"Yo! Teo, what happened?"
"What?" Teo asked, turning around to reveal that his ears had been removed.
"Teo! What happened to your ears!?"
"Oh, yeah, that. Those core hunters ripped them off when I let you out." Teo looked down
My face went blank when I heard those words, I was simultaneously blaming myself and cursing him for getting into that situation.
"What?"
"They did it to Vincent too, I didn't watch it but he probably still missing an ear."
"I can't believe I didn't notice. What did the baron do to you for your crimes?"
"I have to send my golems to the mines and oversee them, my sentence is ten years of 'Forced Labor'. It was the lightest possible sentence for my crime."
"So is that golem for the baron or the exam?"
"Both, they're going to seize all of my golems as soon as I graduate."
"Wow, that's harsh man." I turned to Professor James "OI! How come he gets to use the workshop and I couldn't this whole time?"
"Cause the baron thinks he'll escape unless he's watched. So he has to eat, sleep, and work here. I hate it as much as you think it's unfair."
"Hmm, Evaluate!" I said, activating Golem Glass on Teo's half-finished golem.

"Wow, these look like pretty decent stats. This is made to be a miner, no?"
"Yeah, it's the only type I'm working on right now."
"Now, I don't want you to get the wrong idea, because I still haven't forgiven you for almost getting me killed, but: Inspect."
The golem's faults glowed as I started out of the room.
"You have five minutes to take note of your imperfections!" I referenced the time constraints of my enchantment.
"Thank you!" I heard reverberate through the hall walked, I should have two more packages from my dad and I had no time to waste.
When I got to my mailbox, it was bulging.
"Alright, let's see what he sent." I opened the mailbox with my key to discover a bag of some fluid and a pair of tongs.
"What in the actual hell did dad send me?!"
I pulled my Telespeak Pendent up to eye level and pressed on my dad's contact rune.
"Uh, dad? What's this thing?" I waved the tongs in front of my Telespeak.
"Ah, that one is a pair of tongs."
"But what makes it a spirit item?"
"It's made of a metal that is extremely resistant to heat and is enchanted with heat resistance. Usually, it's overkill, but after you get all the other spirit items you'll understand."
"How about the fluid, and that ore?"
"You'll understand tomorrow." The connection ended.
"Damnit! I will find out before tomorrow!" I shouted as I left for my dorm.
I spent the whole night deciphering the spirit paper of the directly enchanted items. The hammer removes imperfections and the sphere works as a space to store things in a shrunken form, and much like my workshop, it doesn't change the shrunken item's mass. The ore and liquid were unenchanted so I had no idea what they were, and the spirit paper was spirit paper. A short nap later and I rushed to my mailbox to find a single book.
"The Basic Principles of Enchantment? What's this for?" I opened it and immediately slammed it closed.
'It's fake! I need to find out what the key in it does!' My project was starting to be fun rather than slow.
I ran as fast as I could to my workshop and found the array disabled.
"Yes!" I kicked the door open because it had no latch and barred it behind me.
When I opened the book and took out the key, it glowed for a moment and I suddenly knew about a set of armor that could shapeshift and a secret enchanting technique called forging. The key then started to disintegrate until it was dust on the floor.
"OH MY! The stuff he sent me is for this! It needs a bunch of separate spirit papers to work properly, a crystal sphere to hold the material when it's not in use, the metal can be used for shapeshifting armor, the hammer is to remove impurities in the metal and the fluid, and the Telespeak Pendent can be easily integrated into the armor! Dad is definitely the favorite parent right now!"
'Calm yourself, you want to finish your golem in time you will have to wait on that armor.'
'But this could be the solution to the grappling hook's tendency to rip limbs off and my issue with having to make Skeleton Armor every time I have to fight.'
'Are you really going to get into a fight between now and the time you build the golem's legs?'
'Who knows? Maybe.'
'You won't and if you do, you will deal with it the same way you normally would.'
'Fine, mom'
I started to weave the legs.
