Synopsis

Chapter 1 - Prologue.

Night falls,

evil calls.

Dark, dim, dead.

Like a tick,

sucking my rich.

It hurts,

very bad.

A streak of light pries,

petite, yet so blinding.

It raised the rotten to the rangy,

for I am thirsty to grasp his hands.

I swamp struggles,

tear thorns, that pricked my fingers.

Blood drips,

wetting the soil that I grow on.

Whoosh,

I grow,

I stretched out my hands.

Please do not,

leave me behind.

"You f*cking sl*t! Get over here! Where have you been, huh? Been hanging around the corner like the h*oker you are!" The man yanks the young girl, no older than 6 by her hair. A trail of visible blood starts streaming down from her scalp. Maybe it's the old wounds, or maybe he dragged too harshly.

"No! Papa, please, my friend needed me to help her, so I staye- AH!"

"Shut the h*ll up, wh*re! How much did you little friend pay you to suck his c*ck huh?" The man whams his fist on her stomach, making the little girl recoil in his clutch. He makes his way towards the cheap dining table where a pack of cigarette and lighter with a ceramic ashtray lay.

"Papa, please, I didn't do anything wrong!" The girl's luminous brown round eyes widen in fear, her irises contract violently at the sight of the table where food is supposed to be served and families gather.

She thrashes and tries to overwhelm her father. But she is so weak. Her efforts are so futile and frivolous.

The man raises a cigarette and lights it up. He lifts the burning stick up to his eye, as if admiring the wonderful sensations it will bring. Suddenly, he digs it into his daughter's right arm.

She did not scream.

The light dulls in her eyes.

Out of the corner of the man's eyes. A familiar object comes flying to his left.

He turns around, "you-"

A loud clatter of the chair follows by his last words. Then a heavy thump.

The girl loosens herself from the man's limp grip, she raises her left foot and pushes his head down, more crimsons flow and highlights the boring marble of the floor. The girl sneers silently and removes the rubber gloves from her hands. Her father did not even question why she's wearing a glove, he is probably too high.

She turns into the bathroom in the kitchen and washes the gloves, no one else saw the red-tinted water washing down the sewage.

The girl returns to the living room, throws some cash- not all from her father's wardrobe where he stashes his savings into her pockets, starts screaming. And sprints out immediately, too many people will come. She thought.

No one else saw the ceramic ashtray rolling on the marble floor too.

(4 years later)

Dionysus's POV.

"Mummy, why are they eating from the dustbins?" I watch the group of children, oh wait, they are no older than me.

They are horrifyingly dirty and mantled by filth.

"Oh son, they are just some wild children, you don't have to worry for them, they are just like animals." Mummy explains, tugging me towards the candy store, "honey, would you like to have some?"

My eyes lit up in joy. Candies, yum.

I munch on the Candilicious hard candy and make my way out of the paradise and noticed they are still there.

It is a group of three boys and two girls. There is one that catches my eyes though. She eats a piece of dirtied bread elegantly and silently at aside, her dark brown eyes surveying the surroundings vigilantly as if expecting any beasts come jumping on them.

I walk up to her. "Hello, will you like to have one? It is from that candy store." I point that at the candy shop, trying to pull up my best smile for the girl.

"F*ck off, p*ssy rich brats, we ain't needing anyone like yer.'" A boy shoves me, making me retreat a little. He has a special colour hair, platinum blond, though it is mattered with grey dirt and a suspicious yellow. And his language is as dirty as his hair.

The girl holds up her hands to stop him. Oh, she's the one in charge, out of the corner of my eyes, I notice the others glaring alertly at me.

Come on, I am not a monster.

I take out a packet from the plastic bag, "have some, you can share among them, really, there's no poison too!"

"Thank you." She looks up and grins.

That ray of sunlight in December has never been warmer than this.

Her smile.
