Dionysus purses his lips and finally settles on the seat beside me, earning a deathly glare from my brother.
After the dinner which was eaten in eerie silence, Dionysus and Karl washed the dishes- peacefully, without tearing up my kitchen or shattering single porcelain, which was thankful enough.
"So-" I start we all rest on the sofa.
"So he's got to be disposed of," Karl jabs a finger at Dionysus who is still frowning.
Gosh, I wonder what's going inside his mind.
"Karl, come on, I know what I am doing!" I pull his finger down, giving him my big puppy shiny-adorable-twinkling-gleaming-glossy-sparkling-clear-lustrous- brownish-black eyes.
"Then I will live with you, I have a room here anyways, and you can have me to send you to school everyday, and a brother to protect you, "Karl announces.
"O-Okay, fine."
With that, Aunt Leen left and had some private words with Dionysus, maybe warning him about me and went home. And Karl had officially lived with his popstar sister.
As usual, I rushed for photoshoots and ran some fashion shows, practised dance and vocal for my upcoming concerts, which I have sorted out to not clash with my school days. Luckily Aunt Leen had pushed off some movie I was supposed to act in during this period for school. I know I am already 22, but I have not graduated from college, don't ask, okay? And Karl too.
Being Carmelo Ilocia was no easy. But it was still way better than my past. Way better. I will die to not go back because it was a hellhole.
Never.
"Carmelo, wake up."
"What the-" I adjust to the heavenly sight in front of me, I hate being woken up, but if it's Dionysus, then I have nothing to complain.
"Where's Karl?"
"Oh, sleeping."
"Urgh," dumbass.
"KARMEN ILOCIA WINTERS!"
I roll my eyes, stamping over to his room on my right and push the ebony door open, as expected, the bouncy door bounces at almost hit me. Stupid doors. What's up with their hormones these days?
"KARMEN ILOCIA WINTERS! WAKE UP NOW!!!"
A bob of blanket drops off the bed in a dull thud.
"What the-"
I glare at him, daring him to flip the swear word.
"-fruits, yeah, chill Mel, you weren't being very nice this morning. You could have just gently patted me to wake me up like the gentle Mel you should be." Karl rubs his suffering forehead, stealing some grapes from my plate. It is clear who is in that blanket this morning.
"Tsk, then wake up by yourself next time, since you're so smart and let Bacchus drive me."
"I doubt he could wake up by himself, he was drooling more than a pig does." Dionysus dunks his tea down his throat, picking in his plateful of scrambled eggs which he dutifully made for all of us every morning. He cleans and wipes the house too. A man with housewife potential? Triple-loutely my type!
"Oh, yeah?" Karl pushes his seat back and throwsa spoon in his cup, splattering coffee on his white long sleeve.
And of course, my grey wool jumper.
"KARMEN ILOCIA WINTERSSSSSSSSSSS!"
A flock of birds take flight into the sky in alarm.
"Next time, I will make sure you wash all my clothes!" I glare back at Karl sitting in the passenger seat.
"Including your undies? Sure, sure!"
A forceful brake interrupts our conversation, "One more irrelevant word and I throw you in the snow outside." Dionysus shoots a cold glint at Karl, who then shut up.
Dionysus had offered to drive us to school (*whoopee*) as I have work and homework to catch up on, while Karl "wanted to catch up on his handsome sleep".
"Be good, yes?" Dionysus ruffles my hair gently, throwing me an unexpected wave of affection.
Maybe me clinging onto him these days had worked.
"Yes, my lord." I look into his green eyes and cannot help myself but peck at his cheeks.
"Bye!"
Being in-a-microwave-that-kind-of-radiance-heat, I pull my bag out of the black Porsche.
"Mel!"
I turn back, hoping secretly-
"Your coat!" Dionysus comes out of the Porsche and passes me my black wrap coat, earning hearts and strangely annoying swoons from the passing girls.
I mutter thanks and grab Karl's hands and half-run, half-tumble away.
Since when am I being such a coward?
Love has got you brainless, Carmelo.
"Oh my f*ucking god, is that Carmelo Ilocia?"
"She's so hot!"
"Do you think I can get an autograph?"
"She's with Karmen Winters, the player!"
"Are they together?"
"But I saw another man!"
I pull up a real smile that was more real than Nicki Minaj's boobs, (*oops sorry for her fans*), and allow Karl to guide me to the General Office.
"Hello Winters, have you got yourself into another trouble?" An old lady sighs, reaching for a file and a pen as if expecting to record something.
"Aww, Ms Lin, I am not, this is my sister, Carmelo Ilocia, she's here to submit her things and get some textbooks." Karl winks at Ms Lin, swinging an arm over my shoulder.
"Good morning Ms Lin, here is my letter of absentee, sorry for being absent for so long." I pull out a smile, handing over Aunt Leen's letter.
"Oh goodness, such well-mannered, thank you, dearie. I will fetch your textbooks for you." Ms Lin checked my schedule and got up the back of the office before appearing with a few books in her hands.
"She's so nice, and why on earth did you get into so many troubles?" I sling my canvas over my shoulders as Karl is carrying my books.
"Well, long long story, Mel." He winks mischievously.
"Appreciate the chance you have, won't you? And don't sleep around too much, I will ditch you once you catch any disease. Mark my words."
"Same goes back to you and don't worry, Mel, you won't be that heartless."
"Ooh, watch me."
He showed me around the school briefly and to my lockers, while I stuffed the irrelevant textbooks into the locker and walked me to my next class.
I majored in Arts and took some other electives.
Getting to my classes was tiring, students crowded the corridors trying to get a peek of my hot body and hella face. Okay, I understand that but you guys didn't have to squish your dirty slimy bodies on ME. Like bruh? Eventually, securities were called up and settled the problem. I made it a point to contact my company and seek bodyguards.
Though they were only a year or so younger than me yet they were still so immature. Seriously, kids these days.
