Chereads / GEMINI (ON-HOLD) / Chapter 28 - Twenty-eighth

Chapter 28 - Twenty-eighth

The past few months Tamitha was just a simple schoolgirl, all she could think about was what would be her next invention and of course, graduating from her course but all of those faded when she started having those weird dreams and those weird drive to find some answers about it.

Next thing she knows, she's here sitting at a Montero sports car owned by their school's Headmaster and wondering how did it even occur to this was way more stressful to think about. She's preparing to join Pearl in her dreamland when the car stopped, she looked outside and surprised to see that they were once again here at the Cunningham's Ranch House it's still as beautiful and regal as before with those Mexican vibes exterior, in fact, it looked fancier at night with all the lights illuminating the place.

"Wait here. I'll check the whole place first. Lock the doors when I got out," Damon instructed as he unfastens his seatbelt. No one complained and simply got a nod from everyone. Castor gave the keys to their ranch house to Damon too, before he left the car.

"You both all right back there?" Castor checked, looking at the girls in the rearview mirror.

"Yeah, Pearl's still asleep though. Poor Pearl, she looks exhausted." The lass sighed, still blaming herself for not noticing sooner. "Hey, I don't think Pearl would be happy if you would keep the blame on yourself. Nobody wanted this to happen, especially you." Castor finally shifted his gaze away from the rearview mirror and to Tamitha, then grabbed her hand to comfort her.

"Thank you, C. Thank you for coming and helping us save Pearl even though you have no clue of what's going on."

Both of them laughed at her statement, but Castor immediately stopped laughing when he felt Tamitha's hand above his. He looked at it for a while, and that made Tamitha creased her forehead, not understanding what Castor was looking at. Suddenly, it felt awkward inside the car thankfully; Damon's slight knock on the car's window interrupted them. He gestured a thumbs up as a sign that the house was all clear.

Tamitha leaned closer to Pearl to wake her but Castor swiftly stopped her and said, "Let her sleep, I'll just carry her to your room." Tamitha took a while to answer, a little worried that Castor might have a hard time carrying her best friend. In the end, she just agreed because she could see that Pearl's too tired to even walk.

Tamitha got out of the car first, then she circles the car to help keep Pearl's head from bumping at the car, as Castor carefully lifts Pearl out of it. They succeeded. Now they are on their way to the entrance, which was already opened by Damon. They have the place all to themselves. Tamitha joined Castor to the second floor, which is where their designated room is located.

It was Castor's room, the room's painted light blue completely different from the color palette from other parts of the house. It looks refreshing and extremely tidy. He also has a small veranda in his room which has a glorious view, the full moon's picking unto his room making it more relaxing for Tamitha.

The lad carefully placed Pearl, who's he carrying in a bridal style unto his soft king-size bed. Pearl quickly got comfortable on the bed, Tamitha swiftly grabbed the blanket and placed it in unto her best friend.

"You have a cool room." Tamitha complimented, as she sat near Pearl at the bed. She got surprised at how soft the bed was. It made her want to sleep already, but she's still worried about Pollux. It's been a while, and he's still nowhere to be found.

"How did you know it's my room?"

"I don't know, I just felt it," Tamitha confessed with a small smile on her face. Castor just giggled at her remark and asked if she wants to shower, to which Tamitha straightaway said yes. She felt sticky with all the searching and crawling they did earlier.

Castor left for a while to get Tamitha some change clothes, while Tamitha roams around the room checking the photos around. There's a family photo. She noticed how Castor and their father exactly looked alike; they have the same eyes, dimples, and body built while Pollux looked like their mom, those deep hazel brown eyes, and luscious lips. After checking out the pictures, she opened the veranda sliding door. She immediately felt the cold breeze touch her body, making her hug her body for warmth.

She's fascinated with what she's seeing. The sight from where she's standing was undeniably captivating. Stars glistening on the horizon, then the big full moon illuminating the place. She suddenly heard a rustling that made her panic and dropped, but when she looked down, it was just Damon still checking the whole surroundings.

She jumped from her place again when she heard a light knock on the door. "Holy!" The lass half-shouted as she placed her hand over her heart, trying to calm herself. She's getting all jumpy and vigilant in her surroundings, afraid that someone might attack her. Turns out, it was just Castor, along with the clothes she asked for. It was an oversized blue long sleeves and a white pajama perfect for the cold weather.

"You good?" Castor asked the moment she entered back the room. "Yeah," she answered shortly as she gets the clothes from Castor. "You can use the towel hanging in the bathroom. Don't worry, that's new."

Tamitha just nodded and thanked him before entering the bathroom. "Wow!" That's her first word when she entered the room. It was huge, it has a shower and a bathtub too! The design was phenomenal. Tamitha can't help but think how well off this family is.

She took a short, warm shower that refreshed her. She's finally ready for bed, but she's still debating whether to wait for Pollux. In the end, she aired dry her hair and when her hair finally dries up she'll go to sleep and probably wait for Pollux tomorrow. So keeping herself busy, she decided to once again head outside and stargazing.

Moments later, she got bored looking at the sky, so she got something to eat. She suddenly felt her stomach grumble. She's hesitating at first worried to leave Pearl all alone but her stomach kept grumbling so she barricaded the veranda door with the small cabinet to make sure no one gets in the room, then she left something that would make a noise if it gets stepped on in front of the door so it will alert her if someone's trying to enter the room. Now, she slowly made her way down, the place was completely dark only the moonlight was giving the place a shed of light, the place too was silent getting Tamitha anxious but she's starving so she ignored her fear and head straight to the kitchen. Thankfully, she could still remember the way to the kitchen back when they visited the place last time.

When arrived, she quickly opened the large refrigerator and looked for anything that she could eat. Unfortunately, nothing's cook so she settled on the milk she first saw; with a disappointed face, she slowly closes the door arguing to herself whether she'll prepare something for herself. In the end, she decided to just drink the milk and just eat something tomorrow.

Finally, she closed the door, feeling defeated she heads to their room thinking she'll just quench herself with this carton of milk but she promptly stopped her tracks when a dark figure met her way, holding her breath she slowly looks up to meet that person's eyes. She's close to screaming when the figure stopped her and moved to open the kitchen lights.

"Hey, relax. It's just me." Castor comforted when he saw how terrified Tamitha looked. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He added.

"You seriously have to stop doing that!"

"I'm really sorry," He apologized once more then he let out a small giggle while scratching his head. "Why are you still up? Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?" The lad bombarded, making the young lass overwhelmed.

Tamitha let out a deep sigh as she followed Castor's movement with her eyes. "Yeah, I'm still worried about your brother. Then I suddenly got hungry, waiting for him. By the way, where's the headmaster?"

At last, she took a seat at the stool at the countertop and watch Castor prepped ramen noodles for them. Her mouth watered, she's indeed starving.

"He's in the guest room near your room." Tamitha just nodded and excitedly wait for the noodles to cook, earning a snickered from Castor.

Finally, the noodles' all cooked up, Castor placed it in front of the hungry Tamitha. She quickly grabbed the chopstick and happily devoured the bowl of ramen noodles; It fascinated Castor. It's his first time seeing her like this and it makes him want to take care of her.

In just a few minutes, Tamitha finished almost half a bowl of ramen noodles. She finally slows down and savors every flavor. The lass noticed Castor quietly leaning at the countertop, with a small on his face, watching her. She felt shy and avoided his stares.

"Tammy, can I ask you something?" She nodded while slurping her noodles.

"What just happened today?"

Tamitha choked to his sudden question, coughing and snout almost coming out on her nose. She embarrassingly looked away. She's entirely clueless about what happened as well. Tamitha honestly doesn't know how to answer that question. Castor immediately gave her a drink, she hurriedly drank. When she felt better, she took a long sigh before diverting her gaze at Castor.

"Honestly, I don't know what happened either, but obviously, your brother seemed to know everything. From the letter I received, from the Flicker I encountered, and down to that secret basement. I have no clue why it all happened."

Castor exhaled, dispirited with Tamitha's answer. Both wished to be enlightened tonight, but the only person they could ask about is still missing in action.

"But you knew that my b-brother is a... is a G-God?!" Castor blurted. "I believe so. Oh, wait... Oh my gosh! You're the Gemini constellation!" Tamitha jumped up to her seat when the realization hit her. "W-What?" The lad looked more puzzled with Tamitha's reaction.

"Did you time t-travel? Is that what Pollux was talking about, something his father did? Oh, my gosh! Pollux's father is the almighty Zeus! I cannot believe this!" Tamitha silently speculating as she walks back and forth, making Castor get more confused and dizzy.

"Alright, hear me out, here's my theory. The Gemini twins used to be mighty knights back in the day. As far as I could remember is that; Castor was stronger than Pollux with physical fights but with sorcery, that's Pollux's forte. Now, since you know nothing about this… reincarnation might be possible, then Pollux's memory remained in-tack probably because of his Father's doing. The reason he brought both of you back — I still have no clue why."

"W-What? How does this sound so normal to y-you?

"I don't know either, but it kind of makes sense to me, now?"

"How the freak time traveling, sorcery, and — and the Gods and Goddess thing make sense to you?!" Castor burst out, Tamitha sighed, understanding her friend's frustration. She approached him and caressed his shoulder to comfort him.

"Forget what I said it's just a silly theory, okay? Let's rest, today's been a stressful day. Pollux would probably give all the answers to our questions tomorrow so let's stop worrying about it for now and sleep, alright?"

The exhaust was clear on both of their faces, so they headed up and get some good night's sleep for now. Surely tomorrow would be tougher for them.
