"Is she up already?"
"I–I don't know. Do we really have to wake her up now?"
"I think so? I mean Pollux's finally downstairs, Tammy will surely want to talk to him now, right?"
The lass' peaceful slumber at Castor's king-size bed got interrupted with the faint argument of Pearl and Castor. Both were hesitating whether or not they should wake Tamitha up. Tamitha moaned, getting a bit frustrated with the noise, but she still ended up falling asleep again after some time. Castor and Pearl looked at each other, wondering what they should do next.
Earlier, the two—alongside the headmaster, Damon, were having a peaceful breakfast which Castor prepared for all of them when suddenly, Pollux cooly entered the dining area and grabbed a piece of bread as if they didn't leave him in a dangerous situation. Completely ignoring his brother and Pearl's existence; he asked Damon to step out for a moment. Pearl held her breath, her body completely went frozen no idea what to do, Castor, on the other hand, creased his forehead following his brother's movement until his no longer visible to his eyes. It was an awkward situation for both of them—well, for Pearl especially—which made them wonder if Tamitha could help them seek answers from Pollux.
"Oh! I think she's awake!" Pearl half-whispered as she lightly sprung into the bed, slightly nudging Tamitha. As a result, Tamitha creased her forehead, completely bothered with the sudden movement of the bed, but she just grabbed a pillow before switching her position opposite to where Pearl settled in bed.
Looks like the young lass' nowhere close to waking up after all. The two argued more. Both have different opinions on whether or not they should wake Tamitha up.
"Okay, then let's go talk to your brother, shall we?" Pearl blurted. She stood up from her seat and motion her hands to the door as if directing Castor out of the room. Sarcasm was written all over her face, making Castor rolled his eyes at her.
In the end, he scratched his head and took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself to talk to his brother. He knows that they'll probably have a big argument or might get ignored if he'll talk to his brother now and he's not ready for that, but he still thinks that it's probably time to know everything, so when he finally dared to say that his ready, Tamitha got up furiously to confront the two,
"What's wrong with you two?! Can't you see I'm resting here? Can't your arguments be settled in other places?!"
Clearly, Tamitha's not yet ready to wake up; eyes' still half-open, along with her messy brown hair. The girl's all ready to launch the pillow in her friends' direction out of frustration. Castor looked scared since this was his first time seeing Tamitha at this state, but he still somewhat finds it cute while Pearl shook her head, regretting what they did.
"Well, we're just wondering if you want to speak with P-Pollux." Pearl chuckled nervously as she scratched her head.
"He's here?!" Tamitha's mouth went agape and her eyes widen the moment she realized what Pearl stated. She instantaneously stormed out of the room and headed straight to the bathroom.
Of course, even if she's desperate for answers, she still gets conscious about her morning breath and her bare face around Pollux. She quickly brushed her teeth and washed her face with lukewarm water. Before she heads back out of the room, she quickly glances at herself in the room to check if she's all set to see Pollux.
"You got this!" she said to herself and headed straight out of the bedroom itself. "Where is he?" she asked her best friend, as she approaches them who's waiting for her at the stairs.
"He's with Damon. They've been talking for quite some time now." Castor responded as they head downstairs.
They arrived at the living room area; it's a minimalist style but of course, there's a hint of Mexican vibe, there are two wide windows, where you could easily see the barn. Finally, Tamitha saw the two seriously talking. "P-Pollux..." Tamitha called. Tears forming in her eyes as she slowly moves towards the lad. Pollux immediately looked in her direction and gave her a sweet smile, making her smile back at him. She let out a big sigh of relief before excitedly running to him, careless of her surroundings, just to give him a big, tight hug, which he gladly accepted. He even raised her a bit.
Tamitha felt home in his arms, even if he's still wearing the same clothes he wore yesterday. The manly scent of Pollux relaxed her more. It felt very familiar, and that made her happy to be in his arms.
"Thank God you're safe..."
"I miss you..."
Both whispered unto each other in unison, making them laugh at each other. Castor cleared his throat, making the two remember that they're not the only ones who are in the room. Tamitha's eyes widen, realizing that. So she taps Pollux back to make him let go of the hug but the lad refused for a moment, but later on, lets her go after giving her a sweet peck on her forehead. Tamitha's heart melted, but she remained calm even though her whole system was all shaken up.
She coughed to compose herself as she looked around. All of them seemed to expect something from her so she sat on the couch and let out a deep sigh before facing Pollux, who followed her and now sitting right next to her.
"What h-happened, Pollux?" She grabbed his hand unconsciously, while she looked at his tantalizing brown hazel eyes.
"You don't have to worry anymore, my love..." Pollux started as he caresses her smooth face. Tamitha on the other hand was caught off guard with the sudden endearment Pollux used. She removed Pollux's hand and drifted away from him, alarming the people around them. Pearl and Castor approached them and sat on the colorful bean bags just across the red chiffon couch.
"My... my love? Are you really P-Pollux?" Fear glistens through Tamitha's eyes, along with her shaky hands. Tamitha thought that this might be a Flicker once again because Pollux was rarely this sweet with her, although it also crossed her mind that this might be Pollux's hidden feelings for her.
She looked at Damon—who's standing back Pollux—to seek assurance that he's really Pollux. Damon gave her a nod as a response. "Hey—Hey look at me. It's me, I-I just can't take it anymore... I wanted to call you that so bad and now—finally I can." Pollux closed the gap between them and rest his forehead with Tamitha's as he says that. The lass felt the sincerity in his voice so she's finally convinced that it's him. They both let out a deep sigh before continuing their discussion.
"Can you tell us something? Anything? Please, we want to know what happened yesterday." Tamitha pleaded as she grasped onto her long sleeves.
Pollux took a long pause as he gazes at his brother and Pearl who are desperately waiting for his explanation. Lastly, he glanced at Damon, who looked extremely disappointed in him as he slowly shakes his head as if telling him to stop what his planning.
"Alright..." He started.
"I'm not sure how to start... But Asteria got the prophecies wrong."
"Really? How sure are you?" Castor butted, frustration written all over his face. Pollux gave him a forced smile before continuing.
"As I said, I have the thing she's looking for, so it would be impossible for the two of you to have it. Plus, her prophecy might just be a trick to learn my Father's scheme. As you all know, I'm a demigod. You know the story of Gemini, right, Anika?" Pollux asked.
Tamitha nodded her head as a response, "Yeah, he's Zeus' son and you're an immortal but when your brother, Castor, died you shared your immortality with him then you became a constellation..." She slowly explained. Castor's emotion suddenly changes from being frustrated and clueless to surprised and clear because something jagged off his memory. It's making sense to him now. Tamitha noticed Castor's uneasiness—massaging his head as he sweats bullets—because of all the memories flashing in his head, he's finally remembering his past life.
"C, you alright there?" Tamitha asked, making Pearl look at her seatmate. She tried to comfort her by caressing his shoulder. "I'm f-fine."
"This is why I didn't want to include you all..." Pollux sounded hurt and sad while looking at his brother's condition. "I tried my best to keep all those memories from you, C but I guess you deserve to know it too." Damon approached Castor, helping him to relax as memories kept flooding his thought.
"W-What do you mean?" Tamitha asked.
"He's not supposed to know anything about this because as far as I know—Father let us came back down here just to rewrite our history—you know? Saving my brother and all—but I was not expecting that he'll bring us to this timeline... So, I don't know how to do that."
"Now, your Father is under siege because of what he did." Damon continued. "Yeah, it seemed like his plan didn't go accordingly—or so we thought..." Pollux muttered, wondering if it's true because he knows his Father; he wouldn't sacrifice this much if it would end up like this.
"Y-You know what... Asteria may be on to something, why don't we visit your parents, Anika?"
"W-What?! NO! I don't want to involve them with this craziness!" Tamitha choked. She removed Pollux's gripped on her arms and approached Pearl. Her best friend gave her a side hug for comfort. Worry was evident on their faces.
"B-but aren't you curious to know if we're related? I-I mean, Aren't you convinced with what that g-goddess of prophecy said? Because you know while they held me c-captive, she sounded certain that we're related and that I have that amulet thingy she's saying." Pearl tried convincing Tamitha.
"W-What do you mean? We've known each other since we were born—are you being serious right now? I-I mean come on if they planned to get the other twin to get adopted then why keep it close to them? What's the purpose of getting the other twin to get adopted in the first place?"
Tamitha argued with her arms crossed, preventing herself from going berserk. No idea if her statement even makes some sense. Out of the blue, they felt a slight shaking. "W-What's that?" Castor asked while massaging his head, finally recovered from the cloudburst of memories. Pollux and Damon panicked; they instantly went near Tamitha.
"Anika, look at me. You have to calm down, alright? Take a deep breath for me, please, baby."
"A-Am I doing that?" Tamitha cried, afraid of what she's capable of doing, but she tried her best to focus and simply follow Pollux's soft voice. "Relax, baby, alright? I'm here. You can do this. We won't do what you don't want, okay?" Pollux whispered as he caresses her face.
Tamitha relaxed a bit. But fear's still in her, a lot of thoughts going on her mind right now, even Pollux's sudden change of attitude towards her. There are still a lot of things unclear and she knows that there's more than Pollux's not telling them. And she's determined to figure everything out. In the end, she agreed to ask her parents about her and Pearl's relation. She realized that if Asteria might be right about her, especially with that sudden quake, it frightened her and she wouldn't want to be the person who would destroy the world.
"L-let's visit my parents..." Tamitha trembled as she catches her breath.
