Christian was talking in a cheerful tone as he couldn't help but stare at his mate who was nodding at him, remain quiet yet as soon as they arrived in front of the meeting room, Christian's demeanour shifted 180 degrees to a stoic business-like man, at the same time Karol too mimicking his action.
As soon as both Karol and Christian walked in everyone was looking at them walking hand in hand in a puzzled and questionable look thus making Blair look annoyed at them.
"Let's begin," said Christian as they both seated.
Within 50 minutes of the meeting, Karol was surprising focused at the meeting meanwhile Christian main focus was on his mate the whole time as he openly stare at him.
'Do you even listen to the meeting?' wrote Karol on the piece of paper and slide to Christian.
'I do'.
'I highly doubt that'
'Truthfully speaking I didn't focus at all' wrote Christian as he gives his infamous blank face while looking at the others.
"Sir?" said one of the presenters.
"Hmm? What?" reply Christian as he looked away from his mate and towards the others.
"Is the proposal a go Sir?"
Christian who wasn't listening to him quickly turn to his mate and asked; "What do you think?" in which Karol looked up towards everyone slightly feeling weird at the question before she turn towards Christian and smirk;
"Let's hear your thought first shall we since your subordinate asked you first".
Everyone inside the room was surprised at what they saw but remained quiet while looking at their boss who's lost on words.
"Cheeky lady" murmur Christian as he narrows his eyes at Karol who's still smirking at him then adds; "I'm still curious about your opinion on this matter" smirk Christian as he still focuses on his mate.
"It's a good presentation and proposal but my opinion on this is you need to gather more information and detailed ones about this project and then re-present your new proposal,"
After the feedback then another presenter begins their proposal with a much more detailed and organised slide. With Karol's helped their meeting ended on a good note with a slight brainstorming before the final presentation on the next meeting.
Everyone was busy exiting the meeting room except for one person, Blair, she couldn't bring herself to leave the place; "I need to talk to you Christian," said Blair while looking at Christian who's obliviously looking at his mate.
Karol looked at the others who were busy exiting the place as their give an annoyed looked at Blair but a respected smile at Karol who nod her head and smile back. As everyone left the room leaving the three of them behind, Blair couldn't help but ask again; "I need to talk to you alone," emphasis on the alone word.
Karol fully aware of the situation, she stands up and said; "Okay then, you both talk while I waited at your office," but her action was halted by Christian who holds her wrist.
He looked up at his mate lovingly; "Just talk Blair, I want Karol to stay," as he continues to openly stare.
Karol then looked at Christian first with a raised eyebrow then she looked at Blair who was holding her anger in as she proceeds to take her seat to obey her mate's words.
"I need to talk to you privately,"
Without even sparing a glance to look at her, Christian reply; "Then just talk" as he grabbed onto Karol's hands and looked at her palm.
Blair who couldn't take a no for an answer she again said; "No, this is about our business and it needs to be discussed in private," this time she looked at Karol with a 'get the fuck out' facial expression towards Karol.
Karol who was annoyed with the whole ordeal with one wouldn't give up asking and another wouldn't give in on the request, so she decided to be a grown-up; "You know what since it's about your business I'll just wait for you at your office yes?" asked Karol as she looked at Christian.
Christian looked at Karol in his half puppy eyes and half betrayal eyes not wanting his mate to leave him alone as he said in his small kid-like voice; "No, you stay," making Blair give Christian a sharp and confused look.
"Okay, since you don't want me to go and leave you, then you two talk while I go to the loo which will take probably around 5-10 minutes I'll straight away come back here. Is that okay?" asked Karol as she looked at Christian who's still debating with her inner self before he nods his head in agree motion.
Karol then smirks at Blair and then smile sweetly at her mate while cooing openly in front of her, this action boils her blood even further before Karol takes her to leave. She patted Christian hand; "I trust you so don't break that trust" before she stands up.
With confusion plaster all over his face, he looked up at Karol who smile back then walk off leaving both of them behind. Before Karol exit the meeting room, she manages to take a small glance at Christian who's looking stone-cold straight ahead of him, in his infamous business-like expression.
She exits the meeting room, walk away and start to walk aimlessly searching for the toilet yet she couldn't find any nor signboard of it. She then looked around and spotted an employee who's standing at the end of the floor.
"Excuse me, can I know where's the loo?"
"You walk towards the meeting room then turn to your right and then walk straight then you'll see the loo"
"Okay, thank you,"
After completing her business she rushed over to the meeting room as promised to Christian without knocking she thrust the door open and was in shock to look at both Christian and Blair locked lips with each other at the corner of the room.
"Oh shit! Sorry" said Karol as she closed the door quickly and walk away from their head over to the lift like lightning speed.
At that moment Karol's mind was in a mess as she was having a battle with her inner self regarding what had happened.
'She's the girlfriend since the last party event' said Karol to herself as she walked over to the lift and pressed up.
'They both locked lips twice now' said Karol to herself again as she walks into the lift.
'Obviously like they are in a private relationship and I'm the outsider I mean it's not like we are in a relationship or something. But why and what's with the lovey-dovey moments that we have this whole time? Is it because of his subordinate looking at him and they'll report back to his father? Well, it does seems right though. So basically I'm their sacrifice goat to cover their tracks? Fuck! Why does this feel like in a film and doing this shit to me does make me annoyed' said Karol as she enters Christian's office then take her seat at the provided sofa facing the door while typing something on her phone.
A few minutes later Christian rush bursting into his office looking directly at Karol who's seating on the sofa calmly without wasting time he quickly said; "I can explain, it's not what it seems like," but his sentence was cut by Karol who's standing up and hold her hands up in stop action.
"There's no need to explain,"
"No, I need to explain. This is just a misunderstanding" said Christian but again got cut by Karol.
"No, you don't. We are nothing but just a friend that's not that close towards each other and there's nothing to clarify. You have your life while I have mine and this thing doesn't need clarification because you do your stuff while I do mine, so again there's no need to clarify anything or to clear anything. So chill I won't tell anyone your secret if that's what makes you feel the need to explain yourself" said Karol as she looked dead in Christian eyes as if daring him to continue.
"Okay Christian. I'm hungry now so let's go out for lunch or do you already have a plan?" asked Karol as she picks her handbag up.
"No, I don't have other plans,"
"Then let's go"
With that being said Karol walk over towards the door as if she owns the place without wasting time waiting for him to catch up.
