Andreas observed his sister's tranquil expression as she rested. Her agony had been subdued, and he was most content that he did not have to watch her writhe miserably. However, a hollow void that throbbed and yearned began to expand within him. He could no longer feel the rage of his friend and nor the bonds with the other Aldarian warriors.
A fragment of his identity was extracted; his pride as a warrior was incomplete without the warcan beast. Was it wrong to regret transferring Shun to Kai? Should such feelings incur one to believe he was incapable as a brother? Kai was his responsibility, and he treasured her more than the most valuable diamond or ruby in the three realms of Archalia.
