The tale of betrayal and friendship had declared a clear and firm warrior's resolve in Callix' heart. His blade would execute those with ambitious ideals that overstepped their bounds in the near future should they possess the ill intent of betrayal to his father. A warrior did not discard his brotherhood with his brethren, nor did he dishonorably seek to monopolize power and authority that was not destined for him. What concerned him the most was the matter of Sebastian's unnatural silence during Ravelier's narration of the tale. Why had his father not been the one to relate their ancestry? Why stop at the crucial point before the war on the Eastern wall?
"It is Athelstan's soul which dwells in the Blood woods, young Callix," Ravelier stated. "Perhaps it was his voice you heard earlier, my Lord?"
