There was silence for a split second.

Canute suddenly turned around.
It came from behind the trees. For a moment he stood still trying to figure out what it was.
He looked around the shrubs. A sweet scent arose from the flowers.
Canute had vaguely figured out what came next.
To his horror, they were right in the trap of a monstrous flesh-eating plant.
"Everyone! This is a trap! Get out of here now."
Canute yelled out.
Many got up out of fear while others didn't believe him.
Those who believed in him mounted on their horses.
"You heard him.RUN!" Johannes cried out.
Canute and some of the mages were able to escape with few knights.
Too late. The plant slowly surrounded, ready to devour them up.
"Men! Get ready to attack."
They deliberately drew out their weapons.
"Johannes!"
"All mages. Hear me out! Draw out the magic barrier at my command!"
In a moment of time, the mouth of the plant opened wide enough that was able to gobble up three horses at a time.
Before they could activate the barrier, a few dozen were devoured before their eyes.
"Fire!" Canute ordered.
